My car starts uo well, idles between 800-1000 RPM and drives pretty well untill it hits 3000RPM. When i try to accelerate there is a lot of hesitation and it just wont push towards 70MPH in the 3rd or the 4th gear. The wires and rotor etc are fairly new, less than 6 months. Could this be a fuel delivery problem or maybe the carbs need balancing? 1973 240Z
  2. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good mechanic in the Detroit-Ann Arb or area? Its a 73 240Z. I'd tinker with the car more to try to figure out why it isn't starting - but I leave the country for 3 months Tuesday, and I'm desperate to get the car running before I go. Thanks! Reethi
  3. I've tried searching the forum, and I've tried googling - all I can find is that this might be some kind of AC relay. I think it might be faulty and need replacing - does anyone know what it is and where I can find one? (The second picture is where I took the part from - the passenger kick area). Thanks!
  4. I cleaned all the terminals, still nothing. Then I shorted the two screws on the starter solenoid, the car started right up. Now I wonder what it could be, still the wierd clicking noise from the passenger side kick panel. Did a through location of the clicking noise and determined it was from one of the relay's , I pulled it out. Here is the part number 25230 89914 and the next line has MR2-101. I did a quick search and found nothing, except a google search revealed it could be an A/C relay. It has 3 swithches. Do any of you guys know, if this is what the problem could be? Also where do I order one from? Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks for all the help. 26th-Z - I figure everyone needs to start somewhere. The Z makes me happy. Reethi
  6. I just bought my first Z - it is a 73 240Z. It drove ok, but now it doesn't start. There is a clicking-type noise from the passenger side floor area when I turn the key. The starter motor doesn't start - but the battery is charged, all the electricals (radio, etc) work fine. Help!? I'm fairly car-clueless... Reethi
