Im building my 71 with the intention of racing wheel to wheel and auto x. Right now im looking into getting an l28e but wanted to know what you guys who race are using with this engine. Is the 5spd from an NA zx along with the NA r200 (3.90) good for the track. I want to know if I should buy a cheap complete NA 280zx for the engine/trans/rear end? or if I would be better off just getting the engine, then getting a 280z 5spd or the turbo zx 5spd and a different rear end? Z's are not abundant in junk yards around here so it would be easier to just find a cheap 280zx and get everything at once, as well as full wiring and rear discs. Just want to know what a good combo would be to go with an l28e. Im still a long way from completing this car, just want to get a good idea of what im doing with it. thanks alot
  3. Where are they for 200? I can only find them for 400. They are only sleeves, not full coilovers so you would still need to buy some shocks. Thats why they arent a couple thousand bucks. I had them on a car before along with tokico 5way's and was pleased with them. Very good quality and very easy to adjust. They werent bouncy at all like most sleeved coilovers are known to be. I have never had full coilovers but many ppl with them say they are better than sleeves. One part of your suspension will only perform as well as the rest of your suspension. So if you have good bushings and shocks to match the springs rates then the GC's will be great.

I would like that alot if it only had a larger "Z" logo on the front middle. For some reason I cant stand wearing shirts with logos on the back, it feels weird, like the logo should be on the front. idk, probably sounds weird. I do like how they have the sizes with measurments so you can order in confidence. I ended up ordering one of these, it has the logo like I want, I would have prefered it without the blue collars though. All you chi-town Z guys keep an eye out for me cuz I'll probably be wearing this shirt everywhere I go. http://cgi.ebay.com/Large-Datsun-T-shirt-retro-style-car-tee_W0QQitemZ8360725477QQcategoryZ15687QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

sorry I was writing that while you guys posted. ignore my q about msa.

Does msa have that exact same one? The one on their site and catalog has a larger circle like the pepsi design with the top half red and bottom half blue. And a small logo on front and big logo on the back. I dont like logos on the back of my shirts for some reason. I just ordered one from ebay with the design i want, but it has blue ringers on the sleeves and neck. I hope I got the right size. I hate buying clothes without trying them on first but it was only 12 bucks.

http://510garage.com/photos/displayimage.php?album=39&pos=3 Ive been lookin all over for this shirt, its the white one with the large datsun logo with the red circle that the guy standing behind the 510 has. I cant find this one anywhere. I dont like the logo on the ones that msa sells, and all others I find have small logos in the upper corner. If anyone knows where to get these I would like to get one. thanks john

just get someone that can do paintless dent removal to knock it out. thats what im doin with mine, which is mangled pretty badly. they would have real easy access to get behind the panel and beat it back into shape. and it might be cheaper and less time consuming than welding in a new panel
  10. btw its a LT 3.1 v6 model not the 4 cyl. crap
  11. i have a 90 chevy corsica. 65k original miles, perfect interior, good body, no rust, runs great. good tires and brakes. ready for winter in chicago. looking to get 1200 for it. if anyone knows anyone looking for a great running reliable car email me at BseriesHF@sbcglobal.net i wasnt sure if i should put this in the classified since its not a Z. if so just let me know and delete this post. thanks

That Z posted above looks nice in brown and gives me a bit of an idea what it might look like. I was thinking a dark brown with white 240z side stripes would look real nice. Ive got a way to go before im ready to paint my car so right now its between some shade of brown/white/silver. All three look great on the Z, just gotta pick one. thanks

Just wondering what everyone thought on this color "ups brown" for a Z. If anyone has a pic of a Z with this or a similar color I would like to see it. The ups guy stoped at my house yesterday and I was looking at his truck and thought it would look nice on a Z with maybe some black rims. Dont know though, its kinda hard for me to picture in my head.
  14. Very cool site AWC. Good luck with the restore

Hey Zak, mine did the same thing in the rear hatch. The metal seemed to have a haze to it. I took some sand paper and sanded a 4x4 section and I could notice a difference where it took the haze off and was shinny. I left the rest of the metal hazy and just wiped the cleaner over it and then primered. It should be fine for a month or two till im ready to lay down the real paint job.

If you like white I would look at the GM color "white diamond" it comes on the new Cadillacs. http://www.automotive.com/2005/83/cadillac/sts/photos/colors/white-diamond.html It is one of my favorite colors, real eye catching. Not sure how it would look on a Z though. A darker shade of off white or silver is what ill probably be painting my Z.
