I'll try to keep this section updated with all the colours that is mentioned in this thread. Keep in mind that we aren't trying to label anything because it seems that it had a certain negative effect on some people and please remember that this is just for discussion sake! Awards shall not be handed out to anyone or anything like that. After all this is just an "Open General Discussions" right? So lets just have some fun with it The colours: WHITE - 2 ORANGE - 7 Yellow - 3 SILVER - 2 BRE editon - 1 NISSAN 301 - 1 BLUE - 1 DARK METAL GRAY - 1 BLACK - 2 METALLIC OLIVE GREEN - 1 RED - 4 NYC JADE GREEN - 1

Hey guys! thanks for the help! Would either of these guys be willing to ship parts to the Philippines? In terms of prices, Are these guys cheaper or a little more expensive than Victoria British? Because I was planning on ordering my parts from them. Ez

Since I live in the Philippines, certain parts are becoming very hard to come by. So if there is any parts supplier out there and is willing to ship to the Philippines I will be eternaly greatful and you will have a nice thought that you helped bring another Z back to life! So if you guys can help me out, that would be great! Thanks guys!

It really does sound like a prop plane! Very rough! I like!
  6. Thats just cool sakijo. I love how the Japanese give meaning and beliefs on certain things and how you guys are very traditional. Very cool. Really nice rims! I have a question? Mine's are 16x7 for the front and 16x8 for the rear. Do you think these have been altered or are they up to spec? Oh! BTW, This pic you sent to the forum? http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=10530&d=1136329941 Are these the center caps for the rims? Mine didn't come with them I actually don't have any I was thinking of getting those Z emblemed caps you see on the net or getting the original caps for the rims but I have no idea what they looked like! Can you help me out? Thanks sakijo! Ez
  7. Damn Victory Laury! You were able to do something that I have been trying do,search ever since I got the rims! Thanks for the link. I tried going to the speedstar website before but the same thing happened and now I know that they went bankrupt I guess that explains all of it. Thanks! Does this make the RS-8's vintage?:classic:

Forgot to cast my vote! ORANGE I don't know, something about this color that resembles the 240z. Maybe it was the first color I saw on the Z or maybe this color just fits the car! Just try to remember that not any car can pull off this color. This is a color that is very unforgiving and is very strong in character. Second choice? RED Maybe because when I got the car, it was painted this way.
  9. Wow! They do look similar to my rims! But it looks like the spokes are a bit wider on mine or maybe its the black that makes it look smaller. One thing I find weird is that the valve caps says SSR but the decal in the rim says Speed Star Co.LTD?? Hmmm. Maybe the valve caps have been replaced. Also I don't think there was any copyright infringement because these are RS - 8's and not Watanabe's. Can you give me the specs on your rims sakijo? Thanks for the cranes info. Would you know why they chose cranes as there symbol? What does it mean?
  10. I can't seem to find any pics with the Silvia/180sx/240sx line with the rims. Heck! Even Speed Star doesn't have an official website! Would you have any pics of these cars with the rims? I got this feeling that these rims have been altered but my rims guy disagreed and said because the mixture of the metals on both pieces match. Ez

At least you get garble. I get a blank page!
  13. Well its good to know that I know a little something about the rims thanks. "I thought for sure that they'd rub springs without spacers" Nope they don't. What were the specs of the rims you saw? Would you remember?

  15. Why is "Abbreviate" such a long word ?. Hmmmm What would chairs look like if your knees bent the other way ?. If the chair only had a back rest then it would look exactly the same! I think the question is...How would you look sitting down with your knees bent the other way? If a 7 - 11 is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, why are there locks on the doors ?. Can you actually find a door without a lock? Good one Rick.

What is THE colour for the DATSUN 240z? I mean if you ask anyone out there that knows what a 240z is and you asked him what colour reminds you of the Z! Debate folks! Give your answer and elaborate! After all has been said, I'll try to count the colors and the majority or the winner will be chosen "colour of the Z"!
  18. Ummm...I'll try and explain this as best as possible. Ok from top view the front and rear tires were flat from the wheel arches. Meaning if I placed a ruler on the wheel arches it would stay 90 ok maybe 88 degrees upright and if you were facing the rims, since I only have the stock suspension for the Z there was still about maybe 2 or 2 1/2 inches of space available for lowering the car ( I plan on getting the Eibach's or the Motorports from Motorsports Auto. Plus I tried lying down and sticked my head in (not through the 2 inches) but from the bottom and checked if anything was touching. From the Springs to the brakes and whatever part you can find in the underchassis and everything was hanging! I mean If it was +39 I would have cried! Even the inner part of the wheel was very close to touching but not close enough to scrape. In other words, like a glove!
  19. "can you look at the round mark on the face of the rim? If it looks like 3 Ws stacked in a triangle in side a circle, that ''s what they are. Got 'em on my car, but hard to see because the avatar is so small." Which ones are you talking about? The rims I posted or the rims on my avatar? I think those are the famous Watanabes. I didn't know they were made by SSR? I have a question for you... Whats the difference between SSR and Speed Star Co. LTD.? And yup! There are 3 W like symbols on the face and below, it says "racing" If these are the same as your mags can you send me pics of your car? My email is ezrapages@gmail.com! Yup! Last time I heard that the tax import for any vehicle is or was 200% but I'm pretty sure it got a lot higher now and you have heard right my friend. There are a couple of hangars full of unclaimed cars here at the docks.
  20. No wonder your tires bearly cleared the strut?! 235's on 7's? I'm surprised that the tire didn't pop out! the 205x55x16 tire edge goes straight down to the rim and is the same as the 225x50x16. Which strut is Murph talking about? The front or the rear? The distance from the tire to the strut for the front was like a thumbs length and for the rear it was like half a thumb. That was cutting it pretty close but the mechanic said that it won't cause any problems. If spacers had to be placed I would have saved the rims for another car because I can't stand that "play" feel with the steering wheel. My old Benz had spacers for a week with the new mags which came from a newer model 124 body. Since I was a teenager I had no clue on wheel size and what not but after trying out the car with the mags it scared the sh#t out of me! I had them removed right away. Maybe when the pics are upload we can all look back on this topic and say "it does fit without spacers":nervous: I hope this thread won't wear out because it might take forever sending each one of you guys pics! I thought that maybe the sticker on the rims might be wrong or the rims have been altered but the diagram in the website looked exactly like the rims. So again, we shall see :nervous: :nervous:

It could have been Lahar. All I remember was the town was built from the ground up but it had a very old feel and design to it. As soon as I saw that picture I said "perfect". That link you sent me was very cool! Made me jealous! You guys are lucky to be in a place like that!

Amen brother. I have always been a car nut from day one cause my dad used to have vintage Road and Track magazines. Personally I liked European cars better, maybe they were just more refined and as for american muscle cars I loved what they represented but to be honest I only heard about the Datsun during the early 90's and since the car was Japan's first true sports car (aside from the Toyota 2000gt which was a flop) made me really interested about the car even more. Every book I could get my hands on and every magazine I would get it even if it had only a small portion about the Datsun 240z. The world's perception on sports cars was changed because of this car. So I've heard! I had a friend who went there and he couldn't stop talking about the place! Which town was it that was burned down by lava and was built from the ground up? I can't remember? That was one of the first pictures I saw of New Zealand and I just fell in love with the place! I heard also that you guys have vintage car races there and some rallying? Now that puts the icing on the cake! Beautiful place! Ezra
  24. Hey Sulio! Man, Your wheels really look badass! 8.5 and 9.5?! How does your steering feel? Was there a big difference in tightness while steering? I can imagine how much grip you're able to get with the width of those tires! With regards to changing the inner and outer rim it would probably cost me around 2500 Pesos ($45) for each tire! (3rd world and all) but my guy uses some kind of computer/machine just for rims but I plan to just recondition them because I like the way they look now but maybe in the future, if I do choose to go for the ZG look (very far far future) cause I don't really like the way it looks but thats just my opinion and I just love the bullet like shape of the Z. 25. Good one! I've got one for you! One day there was this tourist in Spain. On his first day he went to see the famous bull fights. Soon after, he went to the famous restaurant across the street and sat down by the corner. Minutes later he noticed a waiter carrying dish full of sizzling gravy with to odd looking meats. He then asked the waiter "excuse me sir? may I know what that order is?" then the waiter said " This is the house speciality! The testicles of the bull! " Being the adventurous tourist he quickly decided to order the famous dish. 30 mins has passed then suddenly the a plate arrives at his table. The gravy was sizzling with two odd looking meats. But he noticed that his order was smaller and so he asked the waiter..."sir excuse me but why is my order much smaller than the other one?" then the waiter replied " But sir, sometimes the bull wins! Ez
