Those '70's caps were not ''cheap'' , the new ones are . If those pieces really are cap parts, where's the round housing , springs , and other stuff ? I wish they still made the better quality stuff nowadays .

OK 120 then . On the octane statement , I did say the correct(right) octane ( for the motor's current setup ) , not higher rating .

The only thing you can do is give it an extremely accurate tune up . Nothing will give it more power the way you describe you want to do this . Fresh filters , oil , plugs, wires , cap + rotor etc. might free up something . Fresh gas with the right octane helps too . If your passenger weighs more than 100 pounds , open the door and give her a boot ( kidding ) . More horsepower and tourque ( Canadian , eh ) are achieved by a performance rebuild and planning , not ''bolt on'' stuff. In other words cbuszesk in post 6 says it too .

So fumes are the issue ? If so can you post pics of your new seal if this works out ? I am getting gassed as well - with my turbo setup , I have way more fumes coming out the pipe than most I think . My seals are placed on the rails but not ''glued'' down . Cough cough !

Welcome ! Post away . There's people here with all the answers . Also , use the ''search'' method . Congrats on the upcoming retirement !
  9. It's true !! I've series wired 3 of these , installed them on my Kymco Super 9 50cc scooter , and voila ! 185 horsepower scooter . All legal and scary fast . Nyuk nyuk of course .
  10. Imagine a dealer installing anything for 6 bucks nowadays ! Even 60 .
  11. By the way - I have dealt with '' Gira '' the ebay vendor selling these . Not cheap , but trustworthy . My very early 3 screw covers came from this vendor. I'm still looking for the mounting blocks , I may make them if factory ones don't fall out of the sky soon !
  12. Congrats . You get the long distance medal . Now stop gloating . : )
  13. I wanted a BMW in the past . It was a teenager's bucket list thing I guess ! I looked into a Z8 , but it wasn't practical enough . I will say though I am very happy with my Infiniti FX45 . Never gives me any issues . None . I have to stick up for '' our '' Datsun inspired luxo barge . V8 power, all wheel drive , 20'' rims - big interior.
  14. Barris does to me too . Still , worth a ride in , in a straight line !

Have the locksmith set the lock to match your key. My very small 2 cents .

@ Captain - again not trying to start a flame war , YOU might be a wizard , but 95 percent of the average Joe owners would likely destroy parts trying to pry or drill it open . My advice SOUNDS like I drive a tall horse : ) but when said original poster was considering a drill , there's no hocus pocus to what's gonna happen . Sorry to step on your toes . No intent do do so ! Picking open a lock is child's play to a pro and should be inexpensive compared to prying or drilling. My 2 cents .

Just have a locksmith pick it open , and set the lock to your ignition key . Drive up to the shop of your choice for the best quoted price . No extra damage to repair . I really don't understand all the shade tree advice , when the right thing to do is let a pro deal with it ! I can tell you why this lockout happened , but I have a feeling it would fall on deaf ears . Sorry , not trying to rant .

  24. Errr... thanks for the lock code . Now I have keys to your car !

The trick is to match the lock mounting ''holes'' in the door . They have specific shapes to accept the lock housing. The GM locks were already on my car, installed after a B&E . I don't know if any modifications were needed for them to fit, but they work great. These are the single sided key variety . They use a side bar that clicks in when the correct key is used, as well as 6 wafers . Double protection ! And they are readily available, brand new , either from GM or aftermarket from a locksmith.
