  1. Found one on ebay for $26.00, thanks though for the incredible offer
  2. or if anyone knows if an older 280z tach will work in my early 74 260z for sure? [email protected]
  3. I am trying to figure out why my tach does not work. From searching I have seen that the green wire from my - term on the coil goes to the tachometer. The tach also has a black (ground) and red/black (12v) wire on the back of it (along with light bulb wires). I have tested for breakage in the green and black wires and they read fine with the ohm meter. Power reads 12v from the red/black wire and ground. When the key is on, 12v, when the car is started and idling it drops down to about 6v-7v. When car is fast idled the voltage increases again up to 12v. With this information, am I believe that my tach is toast? Is there anything else I can test that will give me my answer? Thanks in advance for the help! Jim 74 260z, bone stock, su carbs.....reentered zland finally!
  4. Hi all, Can someone tell me how the fusible link on the firewall is supposed to be hooked up? There are two white wires and two white/red wires coming into the link box. Should the whites be linked to the white/reds, or should the whites be linked to the whites? I just got the car and it was setup white to white, white/red to white/red, but it wont start. If I change it to white to white/red, it starts, but some stuff doesn't work unless the car is running (headlights etc) that should work in just the on or ACC position. Any help is greatly appreciated, but screwing with it all day and am still waiting for my FSM to arrive in the mail. Thanks 1974 260z, bone stock except for SU carbs. Just reentering Z land and picked it up the other day.
