Help! Need center caps for snowflake wheels
Just need the center caps, having a heck of a time finding them. Planning on restoring a set, I love the look but need the caps. The caps from the 14" wheels are a bit too small. Have a great day!

L20 Block...N70 Head What the ???
Hey, good or bad news, at least now I know and learned a bit in the process!! The bummer is that this motor seems fresh, has GREAT compression and power, I think that I will switch over to the round tops from the flats and call it good. It's bound to get better from the need-to-be half choked flat tops that are current, I just need the linkage and cleaner housing. Then I can concentrate to the L28 / N42 with the triple michunis that came in a 260 parts car that I purchased. The engine is fast but to me seems like overkill, I enjoy a stock Z just fine and the dependability seems better, but fast is fun too... :classic: The carbs need to be tuned on the L28, it runs but really rough with a crappy exhaust since the car sat in a field for close to a year... (some people need to be beat with a '75 Pinto battery cable...) Apparently the engine has hemispherical pistions, and a radical cam, I have no idea on head specs, con-rods, bla, bla, bla. I can see however Mallory dual point ign., header and the triple michunis with the Muchini intake. About two years ago I was in the car with the previous owner and it SCREAMED, it is / was fast. Currently the centerforce clutch is out so it's tough to tell...The story is that Anton (previous owner now off to do the enlistment thing) bought it from a guy in Texas that built it to race. Wish I could talk to him to see exactly what the history is, my x-ray glasses are in the shop Well thanks again for the info Alan, it's been fun and I've gotten the chance to talk to a bunch of great people so it has been a great experience, too bad the news wasn't exactly great but it's still a Z so I'll take it!! Have a great Sunday all...Any feedback good or bad is welcome on this L28 / N42 engine, I hope to get pics for ya all next week downloaded... And Alan, I wish I had 1% of your knowledge, I think we should clone him so we all have an "Alan" at our disposal...:classic: Votes? Sorry Alan this will only hurt a little, and we promise you won't look like a sheep!

Just got it How does it rate
Does it have the silver Snowflake wheels? It was an option that year for the '81's... they are 15" and are hard to come by. Just curious...If so, they are worth more than you paid for the whole car. Good deal tho, enjoy it, I'm jealouz!

L20 Block...N70 Head What the ???
No luck on my research with the Y70 head so I am sooooo waiting for Alans wiZdom on this... I do have a N42 on a L28 block that is peppy, this is the triple Michuni set up...(on my '74 260). Needs TLC tho. I have established that the L20 is a Fairlady block. I bought this car from a guy who had no idea of the history of this engine, it runs well and has great power. For some reason they put the flat tops on and that needs to be switched to the round tops, I have a pair of round tops and need the linkage... Beandip stopped over today and I had him verify that it IS a Y70 head and I have not lost my mind. At least not all the way:cross-eye . I appreciate all info as I am out of options at this point... Thanks again for the conversation today Beandip, it was cool. That gold portfolio is excellent! Everyone have a great Sunday!

Make that a Y70 head!!!! Sorry:stupid:

L20 Block...N70 Head What the ???
Ok, pardon my Stoopidness :stupid: Just decided to check the numbers on the block and head (due to Beandips' question on it....) and yes, I never have lookied into the number, which is what I usually do first, go figure... SO, have been told that Nissan made a "racing" motor that was an L20 and also the Fairlady had the same engine block in it as well (according to the tech guys at Beaverton Nissan). So it's over to you guys, the true professionals. L20 Block and N70 head.... Has great power but the carbs suk. (Flat tops) Help! Need info. (now I really need to put those round tops on....) Thanks all, have a safe weekend! Brian.

Triple Michunis...
Hey, Sorry 'bout the spelling. :stupid: Anyway, anyone had luck with Triple Mikunis? I bought a parts '73 and low and behold it has a built 260z motor in it. Nice suprise... Was looking for some feedback on these. And, nice talking to you the other day Beandip...:classic: Thanks and have a great Wednesday. Z ya l8r.

oil pressure
Hello All... Oil pressure seems a bit low, about 1/3 up the guage and it takes a while to get there... Compression is strong, has anyone ever had an oil pump get weak? Just looking for suggestions before I go and order a pump... Thanks, have a good Monday.

Sound (again)
Hey A-Dog, If you want to add some extra bass, I put a bass tube into my Z. It has great sound and in the event I need the room in the back I can just take it out. If you need more info let me know.... Also,I put a changer in the glove box. (or whatever you call it.) My father called it a Jockey box and I NEVER figured that out. It also makes it fun to run people off the road as you lean over to the passenger side to change your CD's. Just kidding.

sway bar info needed
I can't believe you posted this, I was just getting ready to ask a question about the same issue (kinda) and Royce actually covered my question. (Which by the way, thanks Royce... ) AND I would like to know the stock thickness Royce, as I think this is a thicker sway bar and I feel the same way you do regarding the wheel spin as I experienced that problem w/ my 280. I am actually considering leaving the sway bar OFF the rear. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GIVE SOME OPINONS ON THIS IDEA AS THIS WAS GOING TO BE MY ORIGINAL QUESTION. And sorry, I did not mean to yell. Since I'm close, you are welcome to come and check out the setup that I may opt to install. What the person before me did was bolt and weld brackets onto the rear suspension member. Just please ignore the rust on the frame and the crappy primer as this is a problem I have yet to tackle. I'll even by you a beer, if that's what you fancy. Let me know sir. And Royce, thanks for any info ya got.

Carb's next...
Ok, the valve was nothing big, the adjustment backed itself ALL the way off, and I'm not kidding this happened almost instantly, which was a first for me... SO, while the spindle sits is penetrating oil for the second week now, which by the way I need that name for the guy that has the pullers for $35????? Now, onto the carbs. What all does a person need to switch from the flat tops to the smaller rounds? Is it just the throttle linkage? and if so does anybody have a set up for sale? Thanks all and happy Sunday! Ohh I love that spindle.......

Introduce yourself to the class?
Holy Moly, First of all congratulations to all for helping contribute to what I feel is one of the strongest "family atmosphere" clubs on the 'net. I gotta say, 2ManyZ's, the tribute to your father is awesome. I found the Z car virus when I owned my first Z which was a 1978 280. It had the basic auto X package until the master cylinder failed on a corner that I was zipping thru. (Big shock.) But, once again I was reminded of the strong cage these cars have as I rolled off the road. Not ONE salvageable part. But I was ok and learned that life is still good after basically walking away from an accident that occoured at around 90. And yes, I've had a talk with that little demon that sits on my shoulder. Since that little crackup, I've owned 5 more and currently have my first 240 under construction. Which by the way, the valve problem was something simple and yes, that spindle STILL has not moved. Hey, where can I get that puller again???? Maybe this time I'll write it down... I'm yes, 33 yrs old, am a supervisor for Waste Management, yes I talk trash all day! Have 3 kids and the wife. (ok, 4 kids including myself...) The wife will join me in auto X hopefully this year (if the car is ready) which I should probably tell her she is doing, huh? She's NEVER raced so it should be fun for her, (and all... ) Come to think about it, she hasn't driven anything but automatics. Hmmmm, may need to rethink this. Well, I appreciate all the advice that all have given me, the Z that keeps us all together is a stong one and that's nice to see in a world that usually needs second guessing...

Spindle can kiss my, and now a NEW prob...
THANKS GUYS!!!! And ofcourse I'm interested, in the event that I don't have to push the darn thing there. I'm giving it a few days and then will tackle it again... I'll do the compression check, I pulled wires and did find a dead hole so that's not good. Let's hope for the best tho. I'll contact the guy you told me about and thanks for that lead! I'll let you know what the results are.. Have a good one...

Spindle can kiss my, and now a NEW prob...
It's starting to look like a bent valve. The bummer is that this motor never burned one drop of oil. If it ends up being a bent valve, what is the best route to take, just replace the bad valve and put 'er back together or what do you suggest? This is a budget deal and this is a definite set back... Thanks to all, most of all Royce for putting up with this soap opera. Have a good Monday...

Spindle can kiss my, and now a NEW prob...
Thanks for the advice, it seems like valvetrain noise, it's weird, no noise one minute, then after startup it suddenly there. I will check the valve adjustment, I just know that valve adjustment doesn't get that bad instantly. I gotta bad feeling about this one... Thanks Royce, I appreciate it. What a weekend...

Spindle can kiss my, and now a NEW prob...
That smiley face is fake because NOW that I have forgotten the spindle for another day, I fire up the motor, give it a little rev after it ran for a bit and NOW I can hear a tapping from the lifter area. Not your normal lifter noise but louder, wasn't there last time it ran, NOW it is. Any advice? And still, happy Easter. I think the bunny hates me.

Spindle removal gonna be the end of me.
In the event that I just can't get this thing to budge, what are the options / worst case scenario. I can cut this one but then how do I remove the piece from the strut assy? I've let it soak all mornin', even applied a little heat, hit it, cussed at it and know I'm ready to get a priest to exercise the demon. All I need is the strut and spring and in doing my homework, than doesn't look a whole lot easier. It's a good thing I love Z's soo much, I'm ready to use five gallons and a match. Pass me the tylenol. Anyone feel free to phone, 503-939-2117. Have a great Easter!

Spindle removal gonna be the end of me.
Thanks sir, I'll spray it down. luckily, this is a complete parts rear-end that was off a 240 that was set up with a better suspension, so I'm just switching things over. So, yes, I do have the one on the car untouched. Hopefully it goes a bit easier with that one or it will be a trip to Nissan. These springs are blue, much thicker than stock, less coils...I believe that they are Motorsports. Has the rear bar also. Thanks again! It's nice to know that us Z guys stick together!

Spindle removal gonna be the end of me.
Ok, pass me the whiskey. I am having a problem getting the spindles out of the Traverse link to switch over my strut assembly. The shop manual simply says to "remove the spindle" by sliding it out. Yea, sure slide it out, NO PROBLEM. And yes, I did remove the outer lock nuts and the lock bolt from the middle and I can't get this thing to budge for love nor money. Before I make the execfutive decision to drink myself to death over this , can anyone help? And by the way happy Easter.

3.36 r180 vs. 3.55 r200
You can shoot me the numbers and I'll compare then to the r180's that I have. That way if they are the same at least you'll know what you have...

3.36 r180 vs. 3.55 r200
Thanks Royce, I'll just leave everything the same then, and wait fir a 3.90. And yes, I meant front mount. Thanks for the help, have a great weekend!
