  1. I think what he meant was if your car doesn't have the vent holes in the quarter panels, you want to use the 240Z quarter panel emblems.

    Why not do both.
  3. wow, old thread. Time for an update. Still have the 72' 240Z and the Silvia. Also have another 240z, 2 x 240K's, a Z31 300ZX turbo and the Honda was replaced with a Skyline R31 Coupe.
  4. A convertible Z , what you do when a tree falls on you roof. That thing, what you do when you flip a Z onto its roof That e-type reminds me of one of the Z wagon design sketches I've seen somewhere.
  5. Here ya go...

Hey Andrew, theres a couple of guys on ozdat looking for K rear control arms. Since you've swapped in a 300zx rear end, you could sell off your K parts to them. Check the parts forum in www.ozdat.com
  7. The auction was actually for the car, the one piece g-nose came with it. I dont think anyone would have bought the car just for that g-nose. 9 pieces if you count the special bonet hinges you need.

  9. Studies have shown talking on the phone, even with a hands free kit is dangerous while driving. I was stopped at the lights one time, there was a nicely restored Gemini (its an Aussie branded Japanese car) next to me, that a young guy had taken the time to do up. I was checking it out, when a another guy rammed into the back of him. I looked over and he was on the phone with a hands free earpiece, and was too distracted by the conversation to stop the car before slamming into an innocent motorist. And it wasn't like the lights had just turned red, we had been stationary for at least a minute. Lucky for me I want in that lane.

Aside from cosmetic changes to the appearance, both the 240Z and 260Z 2 seaters are almost identical. All front panels are interchangeable. There are minor changes to the chassis of the 260 that make it a little stronger and heavier i believe. Aussie Zeds never had the shock absorbing bumpers. The tell-tale exterior difference between the 240 and the 260 is the tail lights, though it is possible to retro-fit the 240 tail lights into a 260Z with some work. Member toecutter has done it with his 260z. Heres a few pics: http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=6&pos=0 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=random&cat=10004&pos=-1269 Those in the know will be able to spot its a 260Z, but to most people it looks like a 240Z.

Thats the only info I found when i did a search, originally posted by you Alfa. Anyway the point is moot. Team Dat didn't get the car. It seems that the seller exaggerated the condition of the car.

According to the owner's manual of C110's in 240K GL trim, sedans were 1,170kg and hardtops 1,180kg.

If your car has round holes in the quarter panels, then it should have the round vent badge. If there are no vent holes it should have the 240z badge (as the vents should be in the hatch).
  14. I'm off to buy a lotto ticket.....

Wikipedia is a funny thing. Anybody can write whatever they like in there, and unless there is someone, or a group of people that actively maintain the page is can become full of unreferenced hearsay. I find it ironic that the article is titled the Nissan S30, yet there is no mention of the S30 at all, just the HLS30, HS30 and PS30, and (G)RS30. They use the S30 term as a reference to all the models of the 69-78 Z when in actual fact S30 was itself a code for a particular variant of the Z, which the article completely ignores. I think the article needs a complete rewrite. Also the popular media section is irrelevant in my opinion .
  16. I think they are the same, like the way 2 seater and 2+2 Z dashes are the same. There's generally 2 types of dash. Later Dash is like the tan car posted above. It has round vents. Earier dash has rectangular vents. like this: The actual Dash panel looks like its the same between both dashes, but with differences with what the warning lights are.

Stanbridges hobby shop, but I think I cleared them out of old datsun models. Also got some others from a place in the city in Piccadilly arcade. It looks like a small shop with model cars in the front window, but theres an upstairs section with plastic model kits.
  18. So do the wheel centers. you know, the bit that connects the rims to the hubs.
  19. I'd guess Mechanical parts, dash, front end pannels, yes. windows, doors, no. Would cost alot to ship to the USA though.

Maybe he means Austria? How much you looking to spend?
  21. A member here was working on a 240Z model, http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=43&t=118209&page=2&pp=15 Thead got closed after being inactive for 12 months. Don't know what happened to it. His homepage is at http://www.geocities.com/jasonparuta/ maybe someon could send him an email and ask about it.
  22. Wow, that must be the most expensive 240z ever. US$54,000 and they don't even know its a Z.
  23. I've seen 3 or 4 really good looking S30 3d models on various 3d forums a while ago, but cant remember where. I'll have to go looking for them again.
  24. I think all this hidden bidder stuff is rubbish. I like to know who i'm bidding against, so i can check out there bidding history to guess how much they are going to bid, or whether its someone I know, so I dont bid.
  25. P.S. You could probably adapt the 240Z from racer into it.
