You can do the same thing as what pressedsteel describes with an in-built function of Photoshop. It's in Image>Adjust>Replace Color. Use the eyedropper to select base colour, and the eyedropper+ to add extra shades. Doesn't allow you too much control when colours are very similar, so in that case you could use the magic wand selection tool and/or the other selection tools to give even more precision. P.S. Adjusting the levels (PhotoShop) will also give you more flexibility, as well as the RGB and HSB controls (both under the "Adjust" menu aswell).
  4. Peter - PM me your email address and I'll send you the wiring diagram I have already scanned in. :rambo:

They came out of the factory with 14x5.5J steel wheels. But I dont think this is what you're wanting...! Usually, the GT-R mockups in Japan wear Watanabes, 14 or 15" and usually wider at the back. I had great fun asking advice from everyone way back when I was looking for wheels!! I ended up with 14x7.5 and 14x9.0 - I dont think much wider on the rear would be physically possible though... What you want to pay particular attention to is the offset - only "deep dish" kind of wheels will fit I think.

Wow Kent, big move! Those pictures made me cringe... to think, I'll have to do that soon. yeowch! Thanks for the pictures though, interesting idea to have the inside cut into sections and bent forward... did you think this up yourself or stole the idea from somewhere else? The pictures will be helpful for when I try to explain to the body shop what I want done!! Any problems encountered?
  7. What a waste. Make a "drift car" out of an old clapper from a scrapyard, and leave the pure ones for the purists.
  8. Sorry mate (I placed my bid in the last 5 seconds, but alas my top was only $47.00 anyway)
  9. Nope, a guy from the US of all places won - he's currently looking to buy a C110. It's funny, these things go for $50 whilst I bought a C210 Service Manual from ebay the other day for $4! Will continue to keep an eye out for another one for you Tom-

From what I've heard/read, the Z embarrassed EVERYTHING! Nice Skylines, I prefer the R32 over the R33, but at those prices, I would have to pass!!

  15. Just something to remember: When buying rubbers, it's the QUALITY that is important, even if you have to pay through the nose for it! There's nothing worse than a leaking rubber......!
  16. Tom, I think that's just a reflection of some stuff (unless you mean the bonnet clips). But damn that paint is like a mirror, I cant tell! Such an awesome car, I had not seen these pics before. All he needs to do now is invest in some tyre-shine I can't say I'm a fan of those wheels on this car though. Would prefer more black. Good thought James, I don't think I'd replace my trusty engine for a while yet but when/if I do, I'll make sure to read up on these topics. Finding space for the engine may not be easy though!

  18. Hi Jesse- Nice plans, something a bit different. Black will definitely look great, it'll really show up all the chrome. Having guards flush with the bodywork is not to my tastes, but is not bad. I have attached a picture for you. In black you would hardly notice if they're bolt-on or not anyway, but the "smoothness" of the flares without pop-rivets might come out in the highlights much better.... Strangely, I dont have a picture of a black hardtop! ...Michael?

  20. The Kyosho (1:18) comes in 240Z (LHD), Fairlady Z-L, 240ZG, Fairlady Z432-R, Monte Carlo rally car and Safari rally car variations. The Fairlady Z-L has correct hubcaps (no logo), the 240ZG has correct hubcaps (Z in the centre), and the Z432-R and rally cars don't have hubcaps. You probably have the 240Z which like you said has the Fairlady Z-L hubcaps without anything in the centre. Interesting...
  21. I found Kyosho the best. Franklin Mint is way too expensive (and only 1:24!) and the others are crap. The "Road Signature" rally car has hubcaps!?!??! I have 3 Kyosho S30's, the Road Signature rally car and an AutoArt 350Z (AutoArt makes very good models also, but no S30).

Every now and then something odd really intrigues me. I'm sure you do the same.. Anyway here are my questions - does anyone know the answers, or willing to guess? 1. Why are the sidewalls on F1 cars and other race cars high-profiled? 2. Why do some Japanese numberplates have a big diagonal red line through them? Feel free to add your own questions if anything's been on your mind recently
