Just wanted to point out that that station wagon Ferrari 456 GT is not a kit, Ferrari made a few of them for special customers, the Sultan of Brunei being one customer who has 2 of them I think. You should see the rear end, mmmmm sexy Ferrari wagon..

Nice one! Here's a question to throw in, there are two little rectangular bits of metal/plastic about half way up either side of the inside of the hatch, right next to the water sealing rubber. They seem to serve no purpose, but why are they there? *I can't post a picture for obvious reasons*

Hi As an owner of a single carb "Skyline" I can tell you that that air filter case isn't from my car (see attached picture). Now I'm not sure if they changed the design of the air filter at any stage during the C110's life, but I wouldn't have thought so. Like Alan said, it could be from a Gloria or a Cedric or something. In my opinion it wasn't from a C110 Skyline. Whatever it is, it's not that special anyway! Oh wait, yes it is, do you want to swap your dual SU's for my special single carb unit? very special ya know...

! Pass the parcel! Thanks for your support guys it's great... Alan, where is Dandenong? Gareth, do you know what kind of condition this gearbox is in? (would hate to ask you guys to go out of your way only to get a gearbox that needs a full rebuild...) It just amazes me how supportive this place is...

Mate, like Alan said, this is kats' topic, if you want to continue can you just please start a new thread? I really enjoy listening in to your two (very different) views on the matter but I dont think this is the right place.
  7. IN YOUR OPINION, anyway. Swearing really shits me...

BRAIN OVERLOAD! There is sooo much new precious information in this topic, I'm going to have to read it over again to make sure I remember it all, you are a very determined man Kats, and I think you have a bit of luck going for you too!!! You must be so proud and honoured to have met all of those men! Thank you so incredibly much for your input, I for one am infatuated with history and history of the Z car is even more exciting! What the best part about this is that the information is so hard to come by, that even after 30 years NEW information is coming out (for example the steering wheel! Do you know how many people have been confused by this?!). Thank you again kats

Yeah, I think teh poll should be "LEAST favourite way to..." as I seem to hear more horror stories than happy stories!
  13. Rick being serious? Sometimes swearing can ruin a joke, and this is a good example. Number two was very funny, but three just became a little offensive. But as Enrique said, it's a part of the 'humour'... And I'd just like to say 'fart' was a swear word to me until a few years ago tanny, and it was as much as Chris could do to warn everyone about the topic. I think we should be thanking him rather than anything else....... And hey, some of those were even funny

Yes it's from a series 3 bluebird, not a 1600....... But yeah I think I'll just keep my eye out for a "proper" gearbox, chances are the ratios will be more suited to my car. Thing is I don't have a clue about all the different boxes available and all the ratios of them. If I did I would make a website to display it all as it can get very confusing...

  16. I probably need ot update mine now!!! Now I don't have to imagine myself driving anything else, cos I drive my darling 240K "it's a skyline damnit!" The same engine as the Zed, except with a single carb, different head, with the car being about 300kg heavier and automatic..... not the fastest but totally immaculate and I guess more practical (I keep telling myself that). Sold my Zed a while ago and now I'm 18, yeah just over a year of ownership but the $$$ told me I couldn't have it. The passion is not dead though, just dormant...

I loved physics at school too, until I got stuck with a teacher who just wasnt compatible with me, and I ended up dreading going to class...

Hi Well as you know my 240K is auto (:dead:) and I've been looking to swap it over but have to get my hands on a good box first (gearbox). I've had an offer from a guy with a Bluebird 5 Speed, from what I know it will fit onto the L24 engine, but does anyone know if it will be the right length etc. for the stick to poke out of the right bit inside my car? Or should I just keep waiting for a real 240K box :disappoin

Your 260 should, as far as I know all Aussie Z cars definitely had VIN and Engine No. stamped on their little metal tag...
