Do you mean could have got away with murder???? I hope so!!! My advice (coming from a 19 year old!): dont be TOO strict. The ones who are overprotected and overpunished are the ones who end up depressed and into drugs and all that nasty stuff. Of course, I'm not denying UNDERprotection and no punishment is better. I've heard the same thing too, but don't know if its anything more than a myth... it is true that when the 240Z changed to the 260Z the many little changes were not sudden - they were brought on gradually (due to oversupply of parts).

I would tend to disagree with that... only 2 seats, thirsty, challenging to drive, high maintenance... this is all relative to a newish buzzbox btw. If you're looking for an IDEAL first car, a Z is NOT IT. If you're looking for an AWESOME first car, you've hit the nail on the head. It will break. It will rust. It will empty your wallet. But you will arrive in the school car park every day grinning like a mug. My first was a 1971 240Z (in 2001) and I loved it. Regret it? No way... I'll get another one of these days (The above is just my opinion!)
