  1. Here's a thread that discusses removal using Dry Ice. Hope it helps. Gary http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16546&highlight=tar+removal
  2. Here at 49 Degrees North in NCW (North Central Washington) we had an unusually cold spell followed by warm whether in the 30’s and 40’s Fahrenheit. Now it's starting to get a bit nippy again. Kind of a nice winter though because I can still see snow at the top of the foothills and the North Cascades are up to about 85% of average already. It may mean we don’t have to hear dire predictions about drought this summer. If there is no Global Warming we certainly have been going thru a warm cycle in the past 5-10 years. The last real good snow year we had was 1996 – then we got to deal with flood warnings.
  3. The guy with the Seahawks car must have gotten ahold of some of that "BC Bud" the Border Patrol and Customs are always snagging at or near the border around here. Seems the transportation of choice for the smugglers on foot is always hockey bags, wonder why? Go SeaChickens.
  4. When I click the link I can't seem to see any pictures, just the words 'expand' but when I click that I get a seperate pop up box with nothing in it. Sorry, I tried the same link w/ Internet Explorer, rather than Firefox and the photos showed up. Very nice car -- good work!
  5. As in Utility SUV - Sport "Utility" Vehicle, or Ute for short, at least in Oz and NZ I'd guess.
  6. Kenz, thanks for the clarification. My car is far from original, so maybe they were replacement hinges or something. Gary
  7. I thought the hood hinges were unpainted, just had the cadmium plating, that's the way mine are. BTW, my radiator support is painted black. Original body color 905 red.
  8. A google search of his name also gives some interesting information. Such as: http://inet.museum.kyoto-u.ac.jp/conference02/KenjiroKAWAKAMI.html

Hey at least I got the first bid in for $1.00, then figured it would just fly outta sight -- but maybe not by that much. That other key went to UWHusky, must be a fan of the purple and gold.
  10. Very interested at $15 plus shipping, might still be interested at $25, but might have to think about it. However, I still kick myself for not ordering the headlight relay when I had the chance. Oh well, live and learn.

To fix the O, I think I'd just get a fine point black pen and mark over the mistaken part. Just a thought. By the way, you did a great job -- it looks nearly as good as new.
  12. I really like the looks of the Daytona, seems like a good use for a ZX.
  13. Rather than putting safety aside and cleaning and dying the straps, wouldn't it be safer and less money to find some quality nylon webbing (as discussed earlier) and take it to a shoe or leather shop to have it sewn? Out in the rural west we have saddle/tack shops with the sewing machines needed to do the job. While the buckles are off the straps you could re-paint or take to the powder coaters. Just my dos centavos.
  14. Believe the quote was from P.T. Barnum of Barnum & Bailey Circus fame. Good point about the Golden Palace tho.

  17. I'd like to see some pics for reference, my car has a 12/70 build date. Thanks

montoya_fan01, when I click on your link -- in either post my computer screen shows a lot of computer code and then freezes, took me two tries before I stopped trying. When I go to your gallery and click on the Video file there, it works just fine. Gary
  19. Will, I too was wondering how Too Intense Restorations ever planned on recouping his outlay of $90K. It seems quite a leap of faith to me. That said, I bought several items from TIR when I first started getting the pieces together for my project. I've found the customer service, delivery and products to be of good quality and have had no complaints. If he's invested as much as he says he has in his molds for the tailights then it is good to know someone out there is trying to serve the early Z community at great expense to his company. When I'm ready I'll order the best parts available, but price is also important to me. It seems that right now TIR is the only company offering a product. If Mr. Thacker dropped his price then that just might mean competition is a good thing. Gary

Yes it works, I just must have screwed up the first time I tried to upload the .wmv file. It is now in my latest contribution to the Boobs thread.

montoya fan, I think you have to upload to your gallery first, then when it gets approval you can open the file in your gallery and cut and paste the URL into your post in this thread. Anyway that's what I am trying to do with a .wmv file. Gary
  22. Looks great!
  23. Forgot to mention, I think ZTherapy has an adapter to put the 260Z air box on the round tops or you could search eBay for a used 240Z air box.
  24. Here's a thread with the Ztherapy link www.ztherapy.com and some misc. info. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18409&highlight=ztherapy
