FOR SALE - Datsun 240z, Manufacture Date 11/72, VIN: HLS30-54829, Engine L28-021220, Head: N42 Ok folks... I am in over my head and now I know it. I am selling my 240z project car to someone out there who has the resources to make the project a success. The 240 is my "dream car". I had one in high school (about 35 years ago) and have wanted another ever since. I found this one and bought it from a fella in Washington site unseen except for photos. He brought it to me and wowza... this thing is in ROUGH condition. The shell is completely rusted out on the floor... you can see through it. Both frame rails are rusted out to the point they are actually separated at the firewall region of the car. The sliver lining in all this is that someone down the line swapped out the motor, so this comes with and L28 motor with N42 heads. I do not believe the engine is damaged... no metal shavings in the oil, and no obvious holes in the block. FULL DISCLOSURE: I do not have the title. The previous owner did not either. All I know is that it had Washington plates on it which expired in 2000. The plate number is 933-HQI for anyone who might have the skill and resources to find out more. Rather than tell you all the stuff that comes with this project car, I'll point out the things that aren't included (because they weren't there when I got it and/or were broken during my disassembly. Oh yeah... the car is nearly completely disassembled now. That's what I spent the first 2 months doing after I got it. I then took a break due to the summer hitting here in Idaho as it was just too damn hot to go out the garage to work on it. And then... I haven't touched it since. It's been several months now and every time I think about working on it I get overwhelmed, discouraged, and just can't get myself to keep it going. Here is what it doesn't have: -- AC -- Windshield (like an idiot I broke it) -- Rear window (yep... idiot again, I broke it) -- A title (mentioned that before) -- Radiator -- Miscellaneous nuts, screws, and bolts that were broken during disassembly (I did mention this is a rust-bucket, yes?) Other than the above, this is a complete car. It rolled out of the previous owners trailer when brought it to me. For the right person, this is your golden ticket. I want $4000 for the complete package. You gotta come pick it up with a trailer.
