Jdm L28 With Single Hitachi Carb?
There was another odd single-carb setup on ebay recently - a '73 with what's apparently a downdraft Weber DAF(?) 2-barrel. Other details of the listing were a little "different" also. http://tinyurl.com/myzjvya

Toy Department?
This link for Ignition Models is one to watch - very small production runs of resin-cast, hand-built cars that sell out quickly. They can be ordered through Asian dealers like AmiAmi and Hobby Link Japan or found on ebay. http://igmodel.shop-pro.jp/?mode=srh&cid=&keyword=fairlady http://ig-model.com/ http://blog.ig-model.com/?eid=24

I haven't found a corner on the site relating to scale model Z's in their various forms. Any interest, or am I off-base with this?

1971 Lime Rock Video Features Bsr
Posted to the 510 forums, there's a new video of footage from Lime Rock 1971 featuring Bob Sharp Racing. From the description: "A film by Gary D. Levinson, created during the 1971 Lime Rock Park racing season, captures all of the excitement from this historic period in SCCA racing history, and features the racing endeavors of Bob Sharp Racing team and undoubtedly the most famous of all the Datsun Z cars, HLS30-00006. Not only is the film considered today, as it was 40 years ago, an art film of its time, but is also now a historic look into the early days of Datsun Racing and the preparation needed to take these cars to championship victories! The film also Features Narration by Bob Sharp as he talks about the process of making the Datsun 240Z the ultimate C Production race car." https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.738145012932119.1073741908.424236224323001&type=1

- Float Level Device?
Second link is the one, Blue. Thanks for the help!- Float Level Device?
I saw a thread awhile back by someone who built a gizmo to help with setting SU float levels. It even used an external pump to mimic fuel pressure through the float valve. If this rings a bell, please post the link - haven't been able to find it again. Thanks!- 1970 240Z For Sale - Stunning Restoration
Nice engine detail, but what's that remote Fram filter tied into? It already looks like there's one of everything. http://firsttraderegistry.com/forsale/10_14/70datsun/068.jpg- leather interior
Google shows related discussions on other car forums including TwinTurbo and NICO; also reference their ebay history as exotikleather. Might be worth a closer look as an interior options source. Answering my own question here - in a word, no. The OEM replacement diaphragm I got from Courtesy fits the Nikki but not the Kyosan because of a design difference in the rod that connects to the pump lever. I also was able to compare the new diaphragm with a 510 Nikki and it looks like the innards could be swapped, as some ebay listings for new 510 pumps suggest. The first photo compares Nikki 510 (L), Nikki replacement, and Kyosan. The difference in rod style between the 2 Nikkis doesn't seem to matter. The second pic shows why the thicker Nikki rod design doesn't fit the Kyosan pump. Reason for all this in the first place is I was hoping to rebuild my non-op Kyosan on the car rather than replacing it. The massive, non-dealer AC compressor bracket blocks getting the pump out without removing all the AC trappings first, including the refrigerant. PITA. Yes, an electric pump is an option being considered.- -

Not to derail this thread on your gorgeous car, but a detail choice got my attention. You chose Tokico HP's for this car but I saw Illuminas poking up on one of your other Z's. How do they compare? It's one of those decisions ahead for me - thanks for input!- Fuel pump parts interchange?
Does anyone know if the internals from 240Z Nikki and Kyosandenki pumps, particularly diaphragms, will swap? It might help expand rebuild options is why I ask. Thanks!- Happy Birthday Mr. K

Any condensation problem with the headlight covers? I suppose that climate (i.e., Seattle vs Phoenix) and even headlight temperature (incandescent vs 100-watt halogen, etc) could play a roll in that as well.- 240z spray bar + sealant?
Actually there was a gasket - called "packing" #20 in the diagram: Datsun 240Z/260Z Camshaft & Valve Mechanism L24, L26 (To Nov.-'74) - pn 13103E3002. Google shows they may still be available, though a skin of RTV would be simpler.- 240z spray bar + sealant?
I had to remove the cam oiler/spray bar to fix a wonky rocker arm on my new-to-me '72. It looked like there was a silicone sealer between the bar and cam towers. Manuals don't seem to address any type of gasket or goo at these contact points and I don't see a definitive answer in previous, similar threads. Other than using as little of something as possible, is there consensus on whether or not and what product would be best?
