Question about front fender weatherstrip
I personally went to the store and bought one of those 1/2" thick foam soda can insolators. You can pick them up at your local craft store like I did. Anyways, it's a soft yet thick foam (Neoprene I think) so I just made a slice down one side and cut the bottom off. Cut the peices to fit and glue them on. It'll last WAY longer than the desintegrating foam that WAS on there. I attached a picture that you can kinda see what I'm talking about. You'll never see them again so color doesn't matter.

Speaking of tranny leaks, Does any one know where to get the seal for the tail shaft for my 4-speed in the 260Z. And I also need one for the 79' 280ZX 5-speed tail shaft. Anyone? Dave

See what you get for moving stuff around? Just kidding. Anyways, They're supposed to be snug so expect to help it up there a little. Realigning your diff will throw the other alignments off a little but as you found out, the Mild steel is somewhat easy to work with. You posted the before pics so lets see the afters as well. I just figured out why you had to remove the clamp, cause the indent is on the other side after flipping it. works either way though, just needed a little rework on your part. Glad to hear you're happy with it. And remember that you can always convert to the stock mount and use a bump stop to get your diff angle back up where you want it. Thanks rich, Dave

how to pull engine?
**Disconnect the battery before you do any of this** 1) detach all hoses, wires, linkage and cables from the motor, that are attached to the car. 2) Pull the radiator to eliminate any chance of hurting it during the pull. 3) Drain the Oil from the pan and the Tranny. 4) Unbolt the driveline and remove it after the gear oil is out of the tranny. ALSO, Remove the Speedo cable, reverse switch wires and Neutral safety switch on the tranny. 5) Attach a chain to the Engine pull brackets near the oil pump and exhaust bolt near the firewall, on the head. 6) Attach a decent Cherry Picker/ engine hoist to the chain but put a towl or 2 between the valve cover and the chain to keep it from scuffing or being damaged. 7) loosen and remove the nuts and washers holding the motor mounts to the crossmember. It won't go anywhere so you're safe. 8) Loosen but don't remove the bolts that hold the tranny's crossmember in place. 9) slowly start to lift the motor to take the weight off the car, when the motor mounts start to lift away from the crossmember, remove the bolts holding the tranny's crossmember to the body. Slowly lower it by hand to it doesn't hit the floor. **Make sure the speedo cable is removed from the clamps on the bell housing befre you procede** Now slowly lift the motor up far enough to clear the fenders, radiator support wall and the car in general. That should do it. Just pay attension as you raise it to make sure everything is disconnected and won't snag as you remove it. You can also remove the tranny before doing this to make it a little easier if you're doing it by yourself. Be careful and have fun, Dave

Just remember to spray it down with Brake cleaner, then uses the marine clean, then the Metal ready, let it dry (blow it off or paper towel it then blow off any lint) Then POR15 it. Leave it hanging for about 24 hours before removing it from the hanger. I used one of the bolt holes that bolt it to the car. That way the hanger doesn't leave a mark that you'll see after bolting it in. Have fun and take pics. Dave

What is this ?
I think that's an A/C relay. I might even have one laying around. I'll check and get back to ya. **OK** found it. But it looks like you'll have to unsolder the wires on your relay to install the rubber boot. I'll give you the whole thing for $6.00 Shipping. PM me if you're interested. Dave

**Update** I shipped orders for Mike B, nahurry, Arne and Kenz240z today. I also got 2 more orders in from Diseazd and JonnyRock. They will be mailed on Monday. Thanks again Guys, Dave- What do you think about a print version "Tips, Tricks, and Mods" guide?
If you were to do it, even with help, you're probably looking at a 6 to 12 month process. Compiling info, pictures, rewriting info in your own words instead of copywrite infringement or "Verbatim" text, etc, etc would take some time. Me and Leah, my Wife, have actually discussed this very subject. Considering how much time I spend writing answers, responses and questions here at CZCC, we both figured that my time should be worth something. If we were to write a simple book, with model info, upgrades per model, years and part numbers of other cars that have parts to work with the 240Z or other S30's, it would take a considerable amount of time. Getting permission from every contributor, recognizing all who have added the needed info and what have you would also be very time consuming. But if you got time, by all means, have at it. Great to hear Adam. I shipped 21 boxes on Wednesday, so we should be hearing about a few more by the end of the day. I'm heading to the Post office real soon to go ship these 4 more orders that came last night. Dave- R-T diff mount Group Buy
**UPDATE** Arne, Mike B, nahurry and Kenz240z, Your orders came in tonight and will go out first thing tomorrow (Sat) Morning. ZKarz, Ol'RedZ, Nigel and PHRED, Your orders were Shipped today. Thanks guys, Working on the last box of R/T's from the Metal Shop. Almost out at 6 left. Dave- Fuel into air cleaner assembly?
Also, by holding that piston up with the "Test Pin", you're over choking the engine. You're cutting your fuel to air ratio. WAY too much air and not enough fuel. Choke the hell out of it using the choke. And leave the piston alone. That's obviously Not helping. Dave- Fuel into air cleaner assembly?
The next thing you need to clean is the Banjo filter. The banjo is the inlet tube on top of the float bowls. Pull the big (17mm or 19mm) bolt holding the banjo to the top and slowly pull the bolt and the small filter in there. Clean everything with carb cleaner, (the banjo neck, screen filter, inlet to the floats, the hose that connects the float bowls to the fuel rail on the Valve cover, the fuel rail (blow it out)-after removing the hoses on the other end near the pump and return line. This will all be a neccesary evil in the proper flow of fuel. There's obviously an obstruction of some sort and you might as well cover all your basis. New fuel filter helps too. Dave- Poly mustache bar bushings
Exactly. No metal cutting required. Just remove the metal tube (suspended by rubber) then remove the rubber. The Poly bushing will slide into the metal sleeve that ir "Mushroomed" to the Mustache bar. Dave- Poly mustache bar bushings
Only remove the rubber. There is no steel insert in the mustache bar, unless you're talking about the steel tube that the bolt goes thru. I drilled and burnt out the rubber, cleaned the remainder with acetone then POR15'd the full mustache bar and the round end peices in the mustach bar. Dave- Where does this hoes go?
It's only rude if we did'nt properly answer his question, which we did do. Hopefully he can see the Humor in the thread. I know we do. hahaha Dave- New Z's show no love
A lot of the S14 drivers seem to be very aware of what my 240Z is. And they are a younger crowd, 16 to 28? ish. Dave- Do i need a new outer Tie rod ends & ball joint?
It's cool, the answer wasn't going anywhere. It was just waiting for ya. Hope your turkey day was filling and eventful Dave- R-T diff mount Group Buy
After adding it all up, there are 44 spoken for. Leaving only 6 more. Just an FYI for the people thinking about it. Not sure if I'll do another run or not so I wouldn't wait too long. Dave - R-T diff mount Group Buy
