  6. This is an apology from me for not something I said or did but for for something I let slip by awhile ago from one of our members. It has been bothering me since that time. Often we differ much with each others governments ( ok all the time). But we do not have much of a problem at all with the people themselves. Even though I lived in England for 3 years, that is not my reason to comment. I have never been to France, but it is included as you will see. I'm no big student of history, so this is based mostly on my opinion alone. That said, I do not remember the thread but a member made a rude comment to you about WWII. I have seen this before elsewhere. He said something like .... and if it was not for the USA you would be speaking german right now. As you usually do, you graciously back off and say you are right, we really do appreiciate that very much etc. etc. Even though it may be true when you hear that from someone in the USA, It is rude to jab you with that. We forget we probably more so joined the war so that WE would not be speaking german. In other words keeping any conflict off our own soil. It was an unpopular decision for most here as we had other problems at the time. I do not know honestly what side I would have taken at the time. So when a person pokes you with that little reminder, they already know that you already know and appreciate it. Because of that it becomes an uncalled for rude personal attack if you have not first done the same. In short, you have a right to defend yourself if presented with that comment. In my opinion. Or I will do it for you.

Both of you are independent? No wonder you are tough foes. :classic: I think we will have a new thread to start as soon as Arafat dies. But not to get into it here. I think I will probably be right with you on the new issues it will present.

Darn it Carl, I have to concede to you again about your use it or lose it motto. That includes all words at any time.

Pancho and Carl This is a New York post about Bill Clintons take. In it he says " democrats shouldn't be at all that discourged." Actually, I cannot disagree with that. I think the rest is good too. That is hard for me to say about Bill Clinton about which I did not agree on a lot of his things. I always respected Bill for being a skilled politition. I never berated him ever on any site with foul hate speech. You are going to have to take my word on that. www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/31816.htm

Pancho Thank you, thank you. I see now what you meant. I never picked up on the "average" part of your view. Sorry. I take you for your word, I have nothing to dispute it. I would have to research it and I have no desire to do so. Yes we need a funny break, seerex.

...starting about the time of R.R. the media is in the far right camp. What did I say that is different that what you posted above? With respect.

Pancho, At the Democratic convention, there was this big fat white dufus in the VIP box sitting next to Jimmy Carter. They kept showing him and I thought that the commentator said he was some guy name Michael Moore. It looked he was the head of the DNC or something because of his seating position. I must be wrong , maybe that was some other program i am thinking of.

Pancho, I know about anti-trust and that it involves every one of every persuation. So you are saying all TV and all newspapers across the nation are now consertive only, and have been since R. R. ? That was a joke right?

Hi Carl Peggy Noonan, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity et al are members of the media so it is not like the "media" as a whole (or hole) are "liberal". There are PLENTY of right-wing conservative media out there. Like the Sinclair TV Conglomerate who tried to force all their TV stations to air an Anti Kerry film just be fore the election. Please understand, I am no friend of the "media" at large, but I use all of them to try to keep myself informed, and then I make my own choices as to what I believe. I hope that you do the same. Yes I do the same. In fact, I do not even have cable TV since I moved to where I am now 15 months ago. I get a few local stations only. So in the election I did not get a lot from TV. You might be suprised to know that I do not much care for Hannity. Also I turned Rush off 5 years ago. Although,I do go to his site to see. if there are any good links or interviews. Speaking of Sinclair I never heard of them until that film. So did they ever show it? I have no idea.

Zwolly Clearing that up was on my things to do. As far as preachers, click channel like I do . Agreed. I was born a Catholic. Those are my core values, but a poor one as far as attendance. I did not add as Carl points out, they do have the right of course. When I say go back to your hole. That is my reaction when someone, say for example Cher, comes out and says: You M--- F---ing blank blank why are you going to vote for that sob. Don,t you know this is our view, you need to vote Kerry, it is the only side to be on blah, blah,... you blank blank. Now part of every campaign is to pick off weaker members of the other side, as well as swing voters. Now I never understood this. How will that change may people's mine with attacts like that. If I were to write a book on how not to win over voters, that would be right up there on the list. Having a polorising figure like Michael Moore as the lead of my campaign is another one high on the list. What they are very good for is energising your own choir that you already have anyway. I did not think in my opinion that this was brain science to understand. But maybe I missed something.

I was telling my neighbor the there was a couple datsun sites that take hate Bush speech to new heights lately now that it is over. After we talked about the election a bit he asked do you think anybodys mind will get changed. I laughed and said heck no. I was thinking I guess I have hated the far left for a long time. I think as much as they hate Bush. I also have no use for hollywood types and musicans trying to inflict their will on others. A lot of people I think like me just want them to make movies and music and leave us alone. The rest of the dems whom I know many I have no problem with and get along fine. Also recently it got to a new low when one of the area grade school kids came home and said Mom I am supposed to tell you to vote for John Kerry. Well the crap hit the fan. What ever ended up happening to the teacher I do not know if anything really. College and High school we already know it is there. But Grade school? What one of the radio talk shows pointed out. What do you think would have happened if a kid came home an said George Bush. OMG. It would have been Tom Brokaw, Katie Couric, Peter Jennings, Dan Rather etc. The October suprise all over. That is why many have been complaining about the biased media trying to influence a National Election. As it turned out it did not matter but could have. Later.

When I am near the campus I talk to students who let me know about the political agendas. So I do not need your checks. The turn out was great & some university students came over with things they did not buy but they got donated by businesses. You should have seen the vans with mom and kids donating items. Got to talk to some main stream democrats even. Wonderful people. The real heart and soul of America. Not the French part. I was talking to one couple who said they were moderate democrats. I asked what they thought the far left of their party, you know Kerry, Ted Kenndy, Howard Dean, Chuck Shumer and others. The wife says well... hesitates, then she says we call them the latte Democrats. I said latte. She says you know drinking the latte with the pinkie finger up in the air. OMG I could not hold it. I had this vision in my head with mperdue and the others with their little pinkie in the air, drinking latte.
