Hey guys I was taking a look at my engine today, and noticed that the circular caps pluged on the oil filter side of the block. One of them seems to have a hole in it. More like a broken hole the size of this:cry: . What should I do? Can I replace it or should I not worry. If so how do I get a new one and whats the process of removal. Thanks

Any idea how much a front bumper goes for pre 73? And how much should I sell mine for? I would rate mine an 8 out of ten.

Now that I have tried to do this I know that whoever has said in the past that it is possible to bring the bumpers closer on a 73 by changing just the brackets is wrong. The bumbers are too big on a 73. Everytime you adjust one side the other side sticks out 2 inches. So in my opinion you need to get pre 73 bumpers as well. Does that sound more right to you guys? If you guys have done this please tell me if im wrong or right.

I have a 73 240z and hate the way my front bumper sticks out. So I went and picked up a pair of bumper brackets today that came before the 73 and have no clue on how to make them work. I have heard that the brackets where all I needed to bring it closer to the body. Has anyone ever done this? Please help. My original ones look twice the size as the pre 73 ones. Oh and do I have to make new holes for the corners since it will be moving back a bit? Thanks.
  12. Zmefly your right. Without the GTR the S 2000 had advantage on the cornering but on the straight away I would give it to the Z. So It would have been a good match. But good point.

There is one for sale on Zcar.com for I believe $200. Its in the classifieds section.
  14. All the Top Gear videos on Japanese cars have been pretty much harsh like that one. They seem to be against them and don't give a real evaluation in my opinion. "Where your dog would normally go" um that comment is an example of what I mean. I have seen video's from Best Motoring comparing the new Z with the much more powerful M3, S 2000, Porsche Boxter and the out come was the Z taking 1st. In my opinion the new Z is an excellent performance car and the only thing I would agree with Top Gear is some of the quality used in its interior.

I dont know what to say. My car when ideling would start to overheat do to a blown headgasket. As it got worse it would start to bog out just like you mentioned. What about your fuel pumps? How is the mechanical one? maybe its starving for more gas. Have you checked the fuel filter? If that dosent help im sure someone here will help you find the problem. Good luck!

Does it over heat at all? Who tuned the carbs?
  17. TTDRIVER posted a post in a topic in Help Me !!
Do you have aftermarket headers on it? Does it have a heat shield? Maybe its because your headers get so hot that the heat makes the fuel in the carbs evaporate. Im not to sure but I know that it is possible.

I am looking for the three piece bottom front end for a 240z. I prefer to buy the center piece brand new if possible. So my question is any body know who carries new front valances for the 240z? Thanks

I have two oil caps one with the Japanese charaters surrounding the elephant, and one which says OIL in capital letters. Which is more desirable if at all and more rare. Thanks

Very true. I was going to ask the members the same question but guess you brought it up. Im 23 years old and Have had four cars so far and all Z's. Started out with a 90 twinturbo, 78 280z, 93 twinturbo, and now a 73 240z. I would have yo say that I would listen to different types of music in each because of the feeling the car would give me. Now that I have the 240z, it makes me feel like playing the Stones, or any thing "oldschool" I dont know about you but I am a fan of Music from Rock to Rap to whatever hits me right. So I would have do definatly say that since I have a wide varity of tatse in music I would say whatever feeling the car gives you thats the type of music I would rock.
