I’m pretty sure I did. When key is in I get power to the two wires but only lights up my test light. Nothing else happens

How can the dome light have an on and off position. I think when off the door pins control it to turn on. When the switch is turned on with dome switch it goes on. My dome light works fine with click switch on dome light. But prior to it doing that if IS off. I’m trying to get it in without click switch. Just by door pins. I have power to two of the pin wires. So I tried grounding them and no change. I have an led in dome light. Does that matter??

ok - so i have power coming to two of the wires on the drivers switch.. so how do i test it and make the dome light go on?

Ok. So you are totally sure there should be power on that door switch??

Thanks jfa. I have the manual and have followed the wires. I am sure I tested those wires at the drivers door switch with test light and had nothing. I always check all fuses and have all good fuses. I will clean drivers contacts and try again. Only thing I am trying to figure out is if both switches are dead or why both would not work if fuse was ok.

any idea how this is controlled? why i can not get it to work by grounding any of those black wires..??

Should there be power going to any of these 3 wires connected to switch on drivers door ?? switch on dome light works but but door switches not working

I have a dome light that has power going to it... the click switch works, but i cant get the door switch to turn the light on. the passenger door switch is good, the drivers side is in need of replacing... and is now out... shouldnt the passenger side door when open make the dome light go on?? does the drivers side need to be grounded? i tried doing that and no difference.. what do i need to do to get the switch to make the light go on?? what am i missing here? thanks

I have a few old broken drivers side outside door handles that are broken where the rod attaches,,, i now realize i have a broker passenger side handle.. can i use the old drivers side handles for passenger side and just put the rod on the other side of the handle that is still good??? will that work or are the handles specific to the side???

is there a way to wire it so the switch is bypassed and it just runs off door switches???

Hooked the yellow up to a new constant battery wire I found and now it works like it should. Case solved. First one was 12v but dim on test light.

Both wires are 11.88v This way when it comes on it’s on a random station abs I have to tune it. But it does store stations in presets but it won’t come back on to the preset I turned off to

i even checked power right to wire harness of radio... power goes to batt on yellow of harness and switched goes to red of harness... and radio will not come on when i switch them it works.... go figure... this is the second brand new radio that would not power up.....hmm... maybe not 12volts to radio??? why would it not be 12v?

its brand new.... only works one way... red to batt yellow to switched power.. other way nothing happens unless there are other wires i have to connect.. ground is good...

nope.. when i turn the car off, it goes off.... which is fine... i am now thinking its supposed to go on all the time it gets power...

I have two power wires. One constant and one switch. I had them hooked up that way and the thing would not even come on. Then I reversed them and it worked. Maybe just a cheap arse jvc. But I did watch a YouTube video abs his did the same. Came on when car came on

I originally hooked up as shown in diagram but it would not power up at all then I switched red and yellow and it powers on but turns in every time I turn the key on - even if I turned it off prior.

Jvc. Wired correct. Wonder if it’s supposed to come on all the time when car starts. Even if it was off before.

stereo was turned off.. any every time i turn the car on it goes on . why is it doing that?? i expect if i turn the stereo off then turn the car off, when i turn \the car on it would remain off... whats goin on here? batterry wire to bat and ignition to ignition.... any ideas???

Will the power wire be live with key on or straight to battery?
