ok..so here is whats going on... checked all fuses... on fused with no power are headlights - as they were not on.. so all fuses worked.. horn does not work, windsheild wipers click, washer, clicks, no fan, no signals no dome lights.. and no guages.. fuel , volts , etc.. all dead here are some photos of wires .. relay under drivers feet.. rest in the steering colum... does black need to be somewhere or grounded? does red go to black connectors?? wire off from signal stem... could there be one fuse causing all this?? or one relay ?? any ideas...

ya.. i will examine the steering wheel clam shell area with plugs.. also if you can help me i can not find a good image of the 260z relays beside the fuse box right side of passenger foot area.. thanks

ya.. will try to check them all.. but can you get standard relays?? also my steering column clamshell is open and maybe a few plugs undone.. another thing to check..

many things not working, horn, signals, wipers, power antenna, no sound from radio... where do i start? replaced all fuses.. are there relays for these? can i get them easily? fuse box a bit oxidised.. maybe clear it? after market steering wheel.. i assume they would have made sure the horn was working when it got put in..

So my 74 was one key?? But it does not work on doors or hatch. Should it?

I have the key shown below.. it works to start the car but does not work in any of the locks.. did this car have 2 keys? one for ignition and one for doors, trunk? or do i need to wiggle giggle it? or will locks on work when doors closed and is there a special way to lock trunk??

apparently the vacuum advance does not work on the 280zx matchbox dizzy i just put in my 260.. is that ok? i have been told car will run fine without it and some guys dont even hook it up... when sucking on hose nothing happens - when the mechanic did that.. what will effects be without it? can i change the vacuum advance ? can i fix it?? thanks

my auto store needs to order in from warehouse... lordco also.. how could the muffler have been causing a knocking noise?

yes - listed as a replacement - not sure if i get one before taking to the shop or let him put it on the hoist and see what it needs...

the part on the door jamb of car is fine - door alligns and closes fine.. just wont stay closed as the latch wont click when it goes in the striker plate...

my latch has no click stop to it.. it just springs back and forth - therefor will not keep the door closed.. can this be fixed if i take it out of the door?? any pointers on it?

Can these door latches be fixed?? mine will NOT click in to place.. it just springs back and forth without click stoping when i flick it with my finger ( no click stop.) - can that be fixed by taking it out of door?? thanks

ok - i will look there for a nut.. what would the effect be with no nut there?? bouncing up and down?? isnt the diff just sitting on that rubber?? so even with no nut it just rests on it?? i looked at u joints as good as i could and they looked ok... i guess strap and mount look ok..

Here are photos from underneath. Strap is ok. Diff mount is ok. Looked like shaft connector on back was ok. Can you send anything weird in photos ???

Or as in the drive shaft was spinning and the car wasn’t moving. Reverse was fine abs the car shifted fine once going. Other than someting banging or knocking on the ledge behind seat or center console area. Like a bang bang bang bang like someone knocking on the front door to come in. 🥸🥸🥸

There was banging in the underside of the center console. Why now a clutch problem ???

No timing light yet. I exhaust was broken would it still be blowing exhaust out the end of the pipe ? And why would it be banging the bottom of car and car not driving. Feels like more then a broken exhaust.

So that diff mount that bolts on both sides holding up the diff can break? I just get a new one bolted on. ?? my pal insists it’s the u joints that hold the tie rod to the rear diff. Is that even possible ??

In the attached video do you see something hanging out the bottom of the car as it drives farther away??? I think I see something and it ain’t the exhaust I don’t think. IMG_2911.MOV

what are the other options to put back there instead of the strap?? i will take this to a shop to get it done.. an old mechanic with datsun experience.. hopefully he can get it done... are there after market mounts, straps, rubber bushing etc...??

what causes the banging?/ the strap flapping around? or a mount banging around? can the strap be replaced without moving diff and muffler ??? where is the strap? under the black rubber pad and mount? or to the rear of the car beside the mount?? great photo
