Ron, Everything I have found is Stainless-polished or not... Will
  2. Ed, I would rather get a post from you than a checked box any day...
  3. I have a three year old (as of 10/29), and a nine month old as of Halloween, both boys. Pics are in my gallery.. Will

Another article where nothing comes after the Z! Will
  5. I have never been successful at removing the glass intact, but I have been more interested in saving the flag than the glass. The glass is cushoned from behind with a contoured rubber pad(pictured in that same thread), and the mirror is incerted, then the edge of the flag is bent over the glass-crimping it in place. To replace the glass, you will need to break out the bad mirror glass, bend the edge of the flag open, cut the stainless to remove the glass on the dented flag, insert the good glass into the good flag, and re-crimp the edges. I have tried this many times, and am making a buck and a die to handle the process for my ps door mirrors(9 hours to fit and assemble the convex glass in the flag by hand is way to labor intensive-even for a true OEM look) . I would de-crimp and epoxy the glass in the good flag-metal work bordering ground glass is an invitation for chips... Will
  6. Dewayne, I have a couple of copies of these manuals(one of this specific set, and one of another)-shipping from Savannah will be less than from AU! I am trying to get them included in the club DVD project. PM me your address, and I'll ship one out. Will

Alan, I agree with you, every variant represented should get its own class-other wise the popularity contest is back. But, the only way I can think of the properly judge the originality of a car that was ordered by a customer from the factory using a dealer is to use its order or build sheet-otherwise a copy could win against an original. Grouping all of the variations of S30s together for judging would only make sense in the modified classes where originality only matters for figuring out which modified class a car belongs in. The stock class should have all of the variants in their own subgroups. Will
  8. The thread will remain after the Ebay auction is gone. It is ALWAYS a good idea to post good Z pics/auction particulars rather than rely any other server. Even enthusiast sites come and go, but if you save it here, guess where you'll be able to find it later...Texas Z has a collection of now defunct sites that are a serious boon to research. Lets not forget Mike has been calling for event pics, so space is evidently not an issue-in addition, Will
  9. Brad, $100 will get you an L24 with out carbs(unless it is a '73) or an L28. Most of them are missing the accessories, but all are unopened. I have 5 speeds, r200s and the other hardware to install them too... Will
  10. I have a catalog with your car in it and a note about "Bob Sharp Racing GT-33 Datsun Z car which is sold at my Datsun dealership in Wilton, CT."...I just replaced my laptop, and my scanner software hates Vista...-here is a photo of the page. The catalog has the 33 race car in black and white on the cover and as illustrated, your car is on page 1. On the last page of the same catalog is a drawn poster names "Z-Power" that appears to have your car in it as well. Will
  11. How many would you like? I have several of both, and 280ZX both NA and turbo. Will

Evidently I missed some of his meaning as well-time for a checkup! Will

Kats, I am glad you are out of the hospital, and hope your recovery is as fast as your 432 and as complete as your Z restoration! I purchased a pair of the ignition switches with the Garage option (and every other interesting par, from the way too far gone and picked over remains of two evidently early rhd S30s-no vins) since your post on them, and currently have them at a locksmith for cleaning the cylinders and having keys made. My local locksmith was having a great deal of trouble finding keys, so I have jumped into the search. They appear to need the Waso keys; and, I may have found a source for them-I'll know when I receive them, and will let everyone know. Will
  14. I agree with Ron, though I was more paranoid about burning the seal. I soaked it in a four gallon stock pot of water I had just boiled(I mixed in a teaspoon or so of dish washing soap after it boiled). The water was steaming but not boiling when I put the seal in, and I let it soak until it was hot to the touch, but not too hot to hold. I left the glass in the sun so it was warm too. It went together smoothly and fast, and the heat dried the gasket within minutes of the installation! Will

Very handsome car, but to me Kats opinion is more valuable than a photograph, I bet he has seen more of the cars than I have photographs of them. Will
  16. I have popped one open-the board is covered in black epoxy making it damn near impossible to replace or identify parts on the board level. I don't think the parts on the board are all that special(otherwise they wouldn't have made it so difficult to identify/repair). Will
  17. Harbor Freight sells a 12v ceramic heater with a fan for just such a use-around $6 on sale. I bought one for heating when I work in a car outside. Will
  18. Too kool! I'll record it on DVD...

Rick, I get the feeling that those are a "one try and you'll wonder how you ever got along with out them" kinda things. They look so different from the thin strips we have over here, but there again in the sticks function is more important than looks-and in reality they are clear and unless you are looking for them, not all that noticeable, couple that with the remove ability factor, and if they were available here, and I'd give 'em a go. As to your jokes, usually they are much like a Krystal (White Castle) the memory makes a craving...and I am laughing too hard to reply immediately, and usually there is a wee one needing Daddy's attention to pull me from replying-but you have absolutely posted some "knee slappers" Will

He was fired by Hallmark Cards and is currently a broke and confused burglar going broke: he keeps stealing everything but replacing it with exact replicas...he sells the originals on ebay. Will
  21. Who on his first Z reached through the window to start his car after replacing his rusty bumper with a NOS one only to have the car speed across the garage and into the door opening completely destroying the new bumper(no other damage to the car) but the ego was wiped out totally, and still shows the dents to those that were present when he is around them. Will
  22. Be afraid, be very afraid, that patch was made with a cutting torch... The edges should be a straight as my orientation, and not as wavering as Escanlons Will

whoops! read to little, typed too fast... Will
  24. I know of one member... Will
  25. I would say they both have had some work, though the first one looks like the closest to stock, I have never seen one with the weld marks the second one has-obviously it has been messed with. I posted pics of mine on another thread at the request of a member, I'll try to find them in my files and repost for you. Will
