Ok Mike, You know what the next club store offering should be. Now you just have to get RaceGirl to pose for it-in a club t-shirt no less :cheeky: !! Will
  2. I don't hate Mercedes, They have made many usefull additions to automotive history, I just have never been taken with them. After that rotary is in and running right, are you going to add a second engine-you have the room! Will

I have always thought(looks like I was wrong) that the jell in emblems in question were red/orange and faded to yellow. then white, and then fell out because they were completely dried out I have suspected that the jell in the emblems was actually the same resin used in the steeringwheel-but without the fiber/wood. I would try some red oak or mahogany urethane in a used emblem, and see how it works-spar varnish is more UV resistant. Will

What Gold part? Chrome, black and red as I recall. Did your red Jell fade to yellow? Will
  5. I have bought several things from that guy-the parts have been good, but shipping is the best he can find because he only looks where he takes it-no checking to take it to the lowest place. In four purchases no two items have come from the same state. Will

There is an alternative to a full fledged rotisserie-it consists of two curverd frames that bolt on the heel hubs with lug nuts and allows the car to be rolled on its side-not useful in a garage unless you have space to roll it over, and not usefull if you plan to remove the suspension-but could be all you need for rust repair-if the suspension mounts are not part of the rust issue. Gary, I'd love to come to a barbQ, but not one fueled by your house! Will

If anybody wants pictures of my nodifications, I will take and post some (TO THIS POST) on Monday evening-if you don't, then don't come back to this post, and you won't have to look at them!

Pictures....of both the upholstery job and the skyline seats.... Will
  11. A member in Washinington is giving away some good part just for picking them up! Including a sereis one hatch-He has no time to pack and ship, but would rather the pieces go to a member than the crusher! I would love to get his pieces-but he is 5600 miles round trip. As he does not have time to pack and ship, I am out of luck-those of you who are closer and have the time might want to go snap these up-If you are so inclined, that series one hatch would make a great finders fee for me-I'll pay shipping! The car does have holes, but they are more thinning than missing, Still, it chould be pretty close-add 10% back in to be safe(not that 10% of the entire shell has been lost to rust). I would rather have a slightly high figure than a low figure. I am using a plasma cutter to trim it up, so it is eating some metal too. I have one cut left to do, the bottom of the firewall(gotta scrape the sound deadening off-too much smoke and blowback! If the rain will stay away in the afternoons, I will finish cutting it up next week, and get the weight of the pieces posted. I don't want to use a plasma cutter in the rain!!! Will
  13. I just recieved the stainless steel fastener kits from Z-car Creations, and I have got to say WOW! I ordered six of the fastener kits-all that are available and required for my 240Z Restmod, 14lbs worth, and they are excellent! Every collections of fasteners is clearly labeled as to what assembly it is for, and hermeticly sealed in a baggie-the baggie is heavy duty enough to take some abuse with out dumping its contents. If you take things apart and toss the fasteners in a bucket, as a few unnamed members here have admitted to doing, these fastener kits could be your salvation. While the fasteners are not dead-ringers for oem parts, they are better than the rust prone pieces used in many places-the fender bottoms, exhaust studs, the under the cowl fender attatchments, the cowl screws, the wiper pivot screws, the hatch hardware, the grill fasteners, the headlight bolts, to name a few. There is a note to use anti sieze on the hardware, and I would hope every threaded hole is chased then bolted. Will

I paid Kmack for mine-his price with shipping, and his experience making them was cheeper than spending my time to collect, buy, cut and weld all of the pieces. I could not have built them for what I paid for them and shipping. I did modify them slightly-I added a pair of side rails and a support for the inside leg, and four bolt on axles that will accept 8" wheels(in both pneumatic and solid tires)- so I can load the car on a trailer, and push it around the yard or the driveway-even the neighborhood if the mood strikes! Now Wait a minute, I never said you had to sell the benz-I mean once the Z is right, you still need some thing to keep the dust off the floor of the garage! It is always nice to have a "beater" to drive while you are upgrading the Z, a benz is useful in that respect! I just believe you will find the Z more fun to drive, any you will remember "I told you so!" I have driven many cars, and of all of them, the Z is the most fun, not the fastest, not the best handling, but the most fun. I hope you find the same happiness behind the wheel. Will
  16. I'll go look at the door-but it sounds like yet another use for liquid electrical tape-just clean the "lobe" really well before applying. Will Enrique will jump in when he sees the thread...
  17. I am not sure what you are talking about...I went to look ing the 240Z fiche-not clear, I will check my '73 tomorrow. I don't remember a piece of rubber in that area. Will

Unless you have something custom, even the raised floors in 77/78 had the straps. At the very least, the attatchment points on the steel hatch floorwill still be in the car. I will get some pictures... Will

That 20 minutes across town gets to be a pita! I brought the part home-I knew there would be other questions! There is a thread on the commonly available closest color-but I can't remember. I am taking the light back to its storage now-and stopping by the Post office for ED. Will
