Primadonna Z Story - 56K Part 2
Relying on handouts is too expensive in terms of both man hours, and prinitng for quality. I have been working on my own display, and I'll PM you with what I am going to do, and I think it will fit for your use too. Will

Pics of Weathershields
Rick, You could test those with speeding pullits while waiting for rain! If you had had those on while racing that chook, you could have reached out an snatched the little beauty for supper! I thought you were talking about a piece that stuck out from the car about an inch when installed. How far do those extend? With those, I don't think you'll get any water in under all but the worst conditions. Are they set up to stay on the car, or come on and off? Will

Primadonna Z Story - 56K Part 2
Roger, You should make up a poster or four to tell this story on when you put her in a show. The story adds to the mystique of the car, and putting her history out there would let people know just how important the car is...and that her beauty isn't just skin deep! Will

Winter Project Questions Head Gasket
More often than not a stock Z engine with consistent oil changes has so little wear in the bottom end and cylinder walls that replacing the rings, and and what you have already planned will do the trick for another 200k. I have measured and gone on several with that result. Will

New Club DVD!
Ron, I'll check into your scans, but all of the FSMs came out at around 12-24mb meaning all of them 1969-1983 are at most 2.4gb(actually they are a good bit smaller), I am using a 4gb usb card to hold the project, and backing it up to an 8gb card. I didn't have your scans when I initially estimated size, but if you are scanning pdfs with color and in higher than 200 dpi, the file size does get rather large, I scan only the color documents vin color, and my scanner is set to black and white by default. I'll check the particulars of your scans tomorrow, pm you and run a total file size on what I have. Thanks for the heads up though! Will

Painting a spook?
Sounds like a story there, but I denno! Shameless, I know... but I had to make sure he knew the Village Idiot position has already been filled...... Seriously, I would think the pebbly texture of the bedliner would be unattractive on the front of the car, with a completely uniform smooth yet fuzzy finish(like the rubberized cellphone suits) maybe... Add a little black to the color of the car and put the shado on the part-or paint it with black plastikote, or tooldip. Will

Introduction
Yikes, Someone else born in Texas that moved to Georgia... Seriously, Welcome! You will find that under the 240Z hood is an open field compared to the 300s, you can reach everything easily, and in a pinch drop the entire drive train in 14 bolts in under 15 minutes. The hardest repair can be replacing one of the two spindle pins, and it is the one thing getting a bigger hammer won't help! Will

Preliminary pics of ZCON
Chris You have brought out more beauty than I thought possible from an already "beautyfull" car...and that isn't quite right in your eyes... WOW! Will

Need engine paint
I used Chrysler blue engine enamel from POR15.com. Somewhat Noticeably different beside the proper color, but not noticeable when installed. The stuf coats exceptionally well, I bought the smallest can, and still have 3/4 of it left! I have a second engine to do... I have a picture of the painted engine, if it will help, I'll post it. Will Zhome has the PPG formula for mixing it posted some where...

Preliminary pics of ZCON
Sadly, I never did get to meet Burt, He was pointed out to me, but engrossed in a conversation. His car was quite beautiful, but there was a good dose of third party parts under the hood and on the bumpers. Still, a very nice car-with proper colored taillight surrounds.... Will PS, Chris, how did you get the "centerfold" quality in your fender photographs-they are downright sexy! I checked and couldn't find subliminal additions... Will

heads up - rebuilt E31 on ebay
This is the seller formerly known as URGellis-his quality is inconsistent as are his descriptions. You might get a silk purse, you might get a sows ear... There are several threads about his inconsistence(search Urgellis or bad ebayers list), including one he responded to once, and chose to ignore after that, I know what that tells me, but read the facts in the threads and draw our own conclusions about sending him money! Need Help on Buying S30z
As Stephen pointed out, the last stud closest to the firewall is very prone to pop, and it is a most likely cause. If the car is an EFI model, the EGR portion of the intake manifold casting is prone to develop a hole at the bottom-allowing exhaust to leak directly through. Start up the car(after it has cooled) and feel around the back end of both manifolds and try to find the leak with your hands. Will

2007 Z National Convention (ZCON) Info
You should have come down anyway-these Florida guys know how to throw a party! My car wasn't ready either-thanks to a storm-but the party went on and had its own storm! The only condition to be ashamed of with a z is the condition of no progress taking care of its issues. If you are making progress in getting it sorted out, you are doing fine. because of the frustration of being absolutley focussed on a project and seeing the end only hours away-and then getting the wind knocked into me, I haven't touched mine since the storm blew away some sheetmetal, but I am going to jump back in prep the new panels, re prep the car and finish her up by thanksgiving. I'll be enjoying the car before the new year and have almost a year to finish up and install modification before Cleveland! Nothing like a driving high and progress to gain momentum! Will PS, Bill, I had hoped to break in my new tires on the speedway too-I put them on in the trailer! It was too cool to watch everyone else screaming around the track, so I took a picture of the finish line with no one crossing it and set up a date with Photoshop! I'll pass the original image along if it will ease your pain!

New Club DVD!
Thanks Mike, I am trying to see what the updates replaced-if there were references to/images of early parts that were replaced(both parts and referenced) in the later versions. I would like to include the parts depicted on replaced pages and those that replaced them in the parts variation thread-the pictures in the microfiche are pretty useless in most cases, but the pictures in the parts catalogs-though shared in many cases are larger and more easily understood. Placing a photograph by a Nissan Drawing of an example of parts variation would collect the pieces necessary to ultimately turn it into a searchable photographic parts database. Will

MotiveMag.com article on S30 and Z33
Interesting article, looks pretty much lifted from the archives here and at my350z.com with a wee bit of driver response thrown in. Not that that is a bad thing. Will

New Club DVD!
Mike B I have two versions of the '74 edition, one half sized and tape edged, and one A4 sized and loose leaf. 280Master took the loose leaf version to work with him for a few days and scanned it for us. I believe he smaller version has the same content, so the larger version offers more detail. As a side note the PO of the larger catalog updated it with most of the pages from other countries as well! Will I also have one of the earliest versions of the book-and am verifying that all of its content iscovered in the later book that has already been scanned.

New Club DVD!
PeterC I believe I have that book(blue cover), but I think your page count is the last section and not the entire book(I think it is about 900 pages). I have not cut the spline off mine, so since yours is already spiral bound would absolutely be a welcome addition! Thank You, WIll

What finishes should be under the hood?
What finishes and colors should be under the hood of your Z. Please post your color choices-I only have 15 spots to use... polished metal, painted metal, anodized metal, power coated metal, rubber hose ,braided hose, shiny silicone, etc Post pictures if you can and detailed thoughts on the subject. Thanks, Will

New Club DVD!
Rick, I am currently getting all of the things that belong to other members packed up to ship out-I won't let it accumulate so long next time...I will be shipping out on Monday. I haven't received any more contributions in a month. I have applied for a larger grant of copy rite exemption to cover overseas donations. I will be starting the menu system on the Factory Service Manuals(since I believe we have them all) sometime next three weeks. Will PS, Ron, I will be looking at what you sent tonight!
