  1. Hey, My new Tokico's have arrived in the mail... for $390 U.S. I was very happy with that because these are not available in OZ. Now which ones go where. (see attach.) Also, do I need that steel sleeve on two of them. And are there any tips, tricks or things I should do during the procedure. Thanks Luke
  2. Hey Josh, How are ya' mate. My name is Luke and I live on the Sunshine Coast and have a 1971 240z. The motor is being rebuilt at the mooment, and I will be back on the road very soon. You check out my website for pictures. If I hear of any or see any Z's for sale in the near future I will PM you and give you more info. You will never look back after owning "One of the most classic pieces of automotive history." Cheers Luke
  3. If you want a mount that is really hardcore, the Z Car Shop in Brisbane, Australia sells a mount that has a Nolathane insert and some sort of setup using a Landcruiser spring. Not exactly sure how their setup, but he is using them on all him competition Z's. Their $275.00 AUD and he has used them for about 10 years now without and problems. You should also check some of the other stuff out in his shop. If it has to do with Z's and Alan doesn't know it............... it's not worth knowing. Heres the site. http://www.zcarworkshop.com.au/Newsite/home.html Thanks Luke
  4. For the clutch I've gone with a PBR RPM 112 heavy duty. That should do the trick. I will replace the mounts because with the rubber coming away from the steel it would probably be a good idea. Should I stay with stock mounts for a replacement or is there an aftermarket product? Thanks Luke
  5. These pictures are of my current engine mounts. Do they need replacing? If so, where can I get them? Should I upgrade the material? and finally while the engine is out.... what else should I do? Thanks Luke
  6. here is the full shot of the head. And thanks again Guys for your help. Luke
  7. Thanks very much, I will try and find a 6th now. Thank you fountain of knowledge. :cheeky:
  8. Are these good or bad???? Just cracked the head off my project and this is what I've got. Any thoughts appreciated. The 6th Cyl. looks the same as the 4th Cyl. THANKS Luke
  9. Can you get a "flexible coupling" in a more hardcore material than rubber? Such as the attachment - (rubber)
  10. Would this be a good investment or are there other kits or ways of doing the bushings cheaper??? http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=10 Thanks Luke
  11. HI, I am finally putting my Z back on the road after moving cities, working too many hours and having too little money. Its been in the garage for about 2 years now. Times have changed, I now need to put my Z back on the road. Everything as far as I can tell is very good, but..... I also have the white smoke issue. I'm not sure if this is too serious, I hope not. I have about $3000 AUD to do whatever I need to do to fix this problem, get new shocks (probably Tokico Illumina), new radiator, heat coat the header and touch up anything else that may need doing since the engine is coming out. This may be a bit unrealistic $$$ wise, but I think maybe possible. Could talk to my wife and stretch the budget a bit. :nervous: From what I can see after taking the headers and webers off, there is oil on the stems of the valves and on the valves that a closed. If the engine is going in for work what else should I get done to prolong the life of my engine, tending the budget. I just want to enjoy driving her, not to race her... well maybe a little bit. :cheeky: Thanks Luke

  13. What are some of the prices and options. By the way Alan at the Z car shop is the master who has guided me this far. I bought a Z of a lady who bought it off Alan about 4 years ago.
  14. Sunshine Coast, but frequent Brisbane.
  15. I need to purchase some new shock for my 71 Zed. I hear good comments always on Tokico and Koni, is there another brand that won't break the budget and are good value for money. I just want a nice ride without my current 3 bounces in the front end.... thanks 2manyzeds!
  16. I would love to go....however I am getting married. That is a shame. It sounds like it would an excellent weekend. How do I find out about more Z gatherings?? Locally of course. Thanks for the news. Luke:disappoin
  17. Thanks a heap Steve. I have been to the Z car shop many times throughout my Z car days and its like the happiest days of my life. Alan is a GURU when it comes to Z's. However since being off the road I haven't had a chance to see him. By the way are the Tockicos available in Australia, better yet Brisbane and how much per pair? Thanks Luke :classic:
  18. What prices do the koni and KYB's go for in Oz?? Various types if possible.
  19. My 1971 240z is about to be removed from the auto cocoon in the garage and gently placed back out on the street. It has been off the road for about two years and only started about 5 times in that duration. Last start was about 2 months ago. Before I get it registered what are some things that should be done, to do this properly. 2.4L mild race cam, triple 45mm webers, extractors, it blows a bit of smoke and ever more with big acceleration. shocks are loose and probably need replacing. Please recommend a good shock, it has lowered king springs. I live in Brisbane, Australia, so something local without shipping would be preferred. If there is anything else that should be done please help. Thanks Buy the way I thought I found my GOD when I found this forum!
