Does anybody actually have a stock Z?
  2. sblake01 posted a post in a topic in Open Discussions
I've had my Z and my 320 pickup insured by them since 2002 and have no complaints. For the way I use the cars they're right for me. Neither of them are daily drivers. Car shows, weekend drives, and an lunch dates with my wife are their main use. We use Allstate for the daily drivers.
  3. We talked about that one already. That's Steve's car (lonetreesteve on this site) from Colorado. Very nice car. Well worth the price. I'd buy it if I could talk my wife into having another car and taking a road trip.
  4. Actually, it's a phrase.
  5. I have a stock radiator in my 78, fan shroud, OEM thermostat, etc. and my temp never goes above the degree icon next to the 'F' even on the hottest SoCal days with the AC on.
  6. 21200-F3160 is the part number of the Nissan 160 degree thermostat. I don't know why Courtesy complicates things by using their own part numbers on OEM stuff. That's why I get my OEM stuff from http://www.nissanparts.cc or the dealer. Nissan parts.cc has lower prices than Courtesy also.
  7. I believe that's a cable adjustment IIRC. It's been so long since I fixed that problem on mine.

    And totally ingore post #35.
  9. I just looked at it and I also feel that the old one was fine.
  10. That's only about $20k less than the balance on my mortgage.:surprised
  11. I didn't purchase any of the vehicles I presently own with the idea of making money on them. I don't have as much invested in any of them as some do. But there is the sentimentality issue on the truck. In 1980, my father loaned me the money to buy it. It was only $100, the truck was in pretty rough shape. When I went to give him back the money, he said "never mind, think of it as a Christmas present". I had purchased the truck on 12/24/80 and it was about March or April the following year (81) when I attempted to pay him back. He passed away in January 1982. I doubt if I would ever sell it due to that link with my father.

Looking through my records for the 78, I see a low of 19.09 and a high of 27. 49. It's basically stock other than a 83 5speed, Accel coil, front air dam, rear spoiler, and a cold air intake. The 810 (completely stock) shows a low of 18.21 and a high of 24.13 but it never did do as well as the Z mileage wise.

You're both talking about the same side of the block. Left side=driver's side on LHD car. Left side=passenger side on RHD car.
  14. I just wonder why the guy on eBay thought he could sell his for $75 more than MSA if indeed it was the same one.
  15. Even in several words, it's still 'NO'.
  16. That sounds like a profit to me.
  17. In a word? NO!
  18. Actually it's function is to "supress the pulsation in fuel flow". Here's a scan from the FSM.
  19. I think your talking about the fuel damper. I've never had a problem with one. According to the FSM, it's purpose is to smooth out the fuel pulse. Based on that, it could possible cause problems if bypassed.
  20. Also in age. Which does mean something.

Or, plus de choses changent, plus qu'ils restent les mêmes. I think it means the same thing.
  22. This should get you started but there are other posts on the subject, many others. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8271&highlight=Differences+240Z+280Z

Check your temperature sensor. The connection and the sensor itself.

I think those are still available through Nissan. At least they were a year ago when I bought one.
