Signal lights, headlights, brake lights, and reverse lights aren't on the same circuit as running lights, tail lights, and dash lights. At least, they're not in the stock setup.

    Got to love that analogyLOL

The 3.70 was usually mated with a 5 speed except in the 810 as some of them had four speeds. I have a 3.70 in my 810 and the highway RPM is fine...once you shift to 5th. Don't think I'd like the 3.70 with a 4 speed. Not even sure I'd care much for the 3.545 with a 4 speed.

As you can see, I'm partial to the factory alloys myself.

Can't argue with that but I was just thiking in terms of the manner in which he lost his lights. Plus, I've experienced that same problem and the fuse was the culprit. Same year car.......

You know, I completely missed what rim he was referring to. I was talking about the 6 spoke ZX wheel.:stupid:

What's more likely? All the bulbs on a circiut going out or the fuse that protects it?
  8. sblake01 posted a post in a topic in History
Popular? They're cheap and plentiful since they were a standard ZX rim.
  9. I doubt the 30% increase claim, but if you're only getting 13/10 I'd say you have other issues. My 78 gets roughly twice those figures. You might try searching 'mpg' on this site.

Pay particular attention to the top right fuse in the fuse box as it's the one for the circuit you lost.
  11. Your shaft seal was probably gone, causing the leak. I hope that you meant that the grooves were getting cut into the water pump and not the block which would actually be the timing cover. I had a pump go out and punch a tiny hole in the timing cover which led to water seeping into the block. I was about to pull the head because I was thinking 'head gasket' until I noticed the hole in the timing cover.
  12. Here's a link to some info on the ZX turbo install. I could have sworn that I saw this link posted in another thread recently. http://www.zhome.com/rnt/L28TurboConversion/Genavese.htm
  13. I have that weekend marked on my calendar. It's about 50 miles down the hill from me.
  14. And...........?
  15. Arne, did you mean to say 'not rare-just different'?

That's the GVWR. The GVWR includes the net weight of the vehicle, plus the weight of passengers, fuel, cargo and any additional accessories, as opposed to the curb weight which is the weight of a fueled automobile with standard equipment but without cargo or passengers. If you compare curb weights, the difference between a 240 and a 280 is about 380-500 lbs depending on the years compared.

I'd start by checking the fuel pressure.
  18. What I do with threads like this is ultimately leave them alone. I just need to learn to do it sooner.

    Er...an 83 would still be a S130.
  20. I really don't mind the texting. It is what it is. But the rest of this is like being in a chat room. Not much of it really has to do with cars.
  21. I'm surprised that this has gone on for this long. 78 posts? She found here keys, she posted her pictures, and she's into 'text speak'. You mention adult spelling and punctuation but remember she's 16. Let her do her thing at 16, we all did. I have children older than her. This is turning into more of a 'chat' than a thread. Let it go!

I think that would be mid 74 when they changed the body style/bumpers etc. and moved the position of the door lock buttons.

Too late to edit but 75 sending unit should have a single wire with a male connector. The terminals didn't come until later but at any rate you've lilely got the wrong sending unit. That's what the 75-77 FSM shows.

I just looked the Courtery website and judging from their illustrations, they have the size of the link printed wrong.
