flushed it out a few days ago, need to check the other stuff, I live in texas and last summer it was fine, it gets a little hot and everything goes down hill

I drive my Z around and get it up to operating temp. I stop and turn the car off and return 10 minutes later. When I start the Z the engine temp is up to 250 and it just sounds horrible. I have a clue what it might be. Everything calms down when the car cools back down to operating temp. Please help. Send your suggetstions. Thanks in advance
