Mechanic is fiddling with this needle valves and trying to adjust the float level to specs. He is trying to determine the cause of the engine tending to stall at idle. My problem has always been during long idle periods during stop and accelerate traffic jams.

Mine are 3 screws. I need to know if for this year both su carbs front and rear carbs are equal and if both float adjustments are the same.

How often you change these valves?

Where do i purchase a new set of high quality needle valves for my 3 screws su carbs?

My mechanic says 2 or 3 turns is irrelevant. You still need verify the color of the spark plug to get the ideal mixture. I have set the rpm on both carbs at 1000 rpm as i have a scheider 274f cam and the engine was upgraded to 2.6l

Both of my 3 screws su carbs were rebuilt by ztherapy in November 2014 as per the sheet attached. However, i have noticed that if i dial both fuel mixture knobs to 3 turns clockwise, the front carb spark plugs still turn out leaner than the rear carb spark plugs. Could there be a mistake on the sm needles diameter provided by ztherapy? Could they have mistakenly installed different needles on one carb and on the other and the adjustment is not paired.

Carbs have beem perfectly rebuilt by ztherapy and tuned as shown in their video.

The oil pump is the original one from 46 years ago. Any advantages on buying the high capacity oil pump sold by MSA: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/17-8021 Just Street use and eventual hard driving on weekends at the highway. Lots of traffic indeed.

What else would you upgrade on the front and rear brakes for daily driver to get a fast response stop on a 72 240z? Just the stainless Steel hoses sold by ZCAR DEPOT and better quality brake pads?? What about the rear drums?

Just installed a GM electrical idle stop solenoid on my 1972 240z which mantains the rpm when my ac is on. Fitted nicely and works fine when the compressor in on.

Im gonna hire one your US experts so you can solve the long traffic idle issue on my car.

Im buying 5 quarts of castrol 20 50w oil and a new filter as per the mechanic request. He will then measure the oil pressure with another gauge and get back to me.

It never goes over half of the gauge. At idle it goes to1/4

So should i sue this company or disassemble the full block? I thought you could provide something more.

In 2014 i bought a 1972 240z that carried an upgraded L24 engine as shown in the picture. However i have been struggling with the car in order to get it stable under stop and accelerate idle traffic conditions and it was not until today that my mechanic found out that the oil pressure in the car was very low and it only went up to the middle when you accelerate real fast. Once in traffic it starts dropping back. He argued that it was quite posible that the company that rebuilt the engine did not change the old oil pump during the process and that it is not pushing enough process to cover all the parts of the engine when its warm. The oil gauge has never kept the oil marker in the middle. We will try and drain the oil using 5 bottles of Castrol 20 50W engine oil and a new filter. I know this is a very old thread but until now i am starting with the restoration of my 1972 240z steering Wheel. Should i sand the old black paint with 400 grit sandpaper or which one should i use? Should i sand until the bare metal of the spokes?

I found lot of rust and a burnt bulb. Cleaned the socket with a battery terminal steel brush. Should i use a brass or copper brush instead?
