SS Bumpers from Vietnam
Don't forget wasp/yellow jackets and mosquitos. Snakes hide when they feel vibrations, wasp and yellow jackets attack. Mosquitos are Gods little joke on us, they have no purpose but to be pest.

What is your most valuable 'made-it-myself' tool?
I wondered why I had a cast iron pipe fitting in my Z parts drawer! You told me about how that reducer would work, and it did. Thanks again.

When I need to stretch out a spring instead of pliers/vise grips, I use a wire like drop ceiling hanging wire. Sort of like a clothes hanger. Put the wire through the spring end and double it over for a pull handle and pull it out to the the set hole. Works great.

Hagerty: Z the new 911?
You may as well drop the motor to change the plugs plus 13 quarts of high dollar Kendall oil in an '81 SC. It's a road you have to drive before you realize the bumps it has. Kind of like boats. There fun but like they say you can just stand in the shower and rip up hundred dollar bills.

cleaning seats
I just realized I actually used some Leather Honey I had for my couch on my 240 seats. I put it on heavy and the next day it had soaked in the vinyl and the seats looked normal. Then I used some soft rags to buff them out then they had a shine. Like Murphy's oil soap it remoisturize the seats and makes the vinyl soft again. Natural stuff instead of chemicals. Worked good for me. Original seats with no cracks but you have to moisturize them.

Fish come from the grocery store! Teach a man to fish? So I have to grow my own ketchup?- Fuel pouring out the front of the carbs
Is that the smaller diameter of the return or is there an actual part that could go bad and need replacing? Thanks!- Fuel pouring out the front of the carbs
I always forget about the 260s and my lack of knowledge about them. I don't think I've ever even seen one in the "wild". Just at ZCON and on the internet.- Fuel pouring out the front of the carbs
That DVD method doesn't work with the newer style needle valves. You can't turn them up side down and set the distance then install them. They'll be way off. The newer needle valves are too sensitive for the weight of the floats. You have to turn them right side up and let the float hang down, blow through the fuel inlet while raising the float until it shuts off, no more air gets through. When you get there that's the .55" measurement. Like Captain says that'll get you in the ballpark but the clear tube will get you a real idea of where the fuel levels are.- Fuel pouring out the front of the carbs
I wonder if his nozzles are stuck down or the choke wires are in a bind somehow. Would that cause the overflow? I know when I got my first 240 I would leave the choke lever pulled back after cranking and running it for a few minutes leaving the nozzles dropped down. My upstairs apartment smelt like gas really bad. Girlfriend wasn't happy with the smell and I was glad to be alive with my pilot light water heater downstairs where the fuel was. Edit for clarity of dumbassedness. The choke lever bracket was broken all to hell so I tried not to use it too much until I got the metal holder from Mr Singer. Best $$ spent on a 240 BTW.- cleaning seats

Do it a couple more times. Use a soft bristle brush and hot water. They'll look good.- Fuel pouring out the front of the carbs
The carbed cars don't have fuel pressure regulators like the efi ones do.- Battery Frame Bolt - Found it!
I've started talking/thinking like my Grandad did when I was a kid. Seasons change, come and go about every 10 years. We have had some of the nicest weather I can remember this year. It's 78F and drizzling rain right now. Last few years have been like Hell, (from what I've been taught) miserably hot and dry. El Nino!- 260z horn, signals, wipers not working
I want download anything to my phone.- The blue 510
My d21 pickup did that too. It was the vacuum hoses that hook up right beside each other, 4 side by side if I remember right.- Fuel pouring out the front of the carbs
I would put a cheap fuel pressure gauge right out of the fuel filter before it enters the metal hardline. You may have too much fuel pressure? I think 3psi is about the max. Lowes has cheap gauges in the swimming pool supply section, fyi. Good luck. You want that fixed asap. While you're at Lowe's get a fire extinguisher. They have a metal rechargeable that fits perfect in the tool bends behind the seats.- cleaning seats
When I cleaned mine I used Murphy's oil soap to clean them then I used some left over leather cleaner from a BMW I had. The leather cleaner made the interior smell good so I still use that. My Camry has leather too. Bought all that at Walmart.- Datsun 240Z Special Service Tool on Craigslist
I'm a dummy too! duh... Looks like transmission and bearing tools on my phone blow up?- BRE stamped N47
I have an E88 with "Birmingham Cylinder Head" on those. Seems like there's one on each end? From what I've been told it's the glue? that holds them on that gets too hot and releases the button/disc. That voids their warranty if one is missing. - Fuel pouring out the front of the carbs
