seems to me i've heard of people getting hit by others and having their own insurance rate go up. Heard that from a couple people.

I also have a need to find the proper size o-ring. This is what I came up with. These bosch fuel pumps look very similar to the type 3 vw. The electrical connector is a bit different but I think the internals could be the same. This is a D-jet and we have the later L-jet. It's a msft doc file that a vw guy put together. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=9&ved=0CG8QFjAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.vwtype3and4club.org.uk%2F_docs%2Ftype3and4%2FFIPumpoverhaul-2.doc&ei=0VAaU8rQH4LpoATgiIG4CQ&usg=AFQjCNHZIgNkC1K_nGE3Z1Awm6UUdIyQDg&sig2=PkPxoTxvicpAYyxmI9UYPw Replacement O-ring Details Metric sizes ---- Motor casing One - 48mm inside dia x .5mm Pump head Two - 30mm inside dia x 2.0mm PRValve One - 10mm inside dia x 2.0mm Imperial sizes --- Motor casing One - 1.862” inside dia x 0.103” - BS No – 134 Pump head Two - 1.176” inside dia x 0.070” - BS No – 025 PRValve One - 0.364”inside dia x 0.070” - BS No – 012 All Nitrile type, hardness 70 shore.

to me it looks like just the hinge points are bent. The radiator core support looks straight on the top. looks easy to me.
  4. 19k in parts and that doesn't even buy a carpet kit and rear window gasket? "thick stack of receipts and labor" He's getting an education in car restoration. When you pay for expensive labor charges you only get pennies on the dollar back. I bought a 78 that came with over 20k in receipts. I paid 4800 for it and it was in much better shape than this one. One receipt was for 4K at the datsun dealer. They replaced all seals in the motor and replaced the fuel injectors.
  5. I like what this guy did. He kept the 280z grill and valance panel and just built his own grill below using parts of another grill
  6. google "simulated wood steering wheel repair" tons of stuff out there on these types of wheels. Some should come with tint kits for the epoxy.

hey there are no crash test dummies in those cars. OR are they dead on the floor
  8. Love those old LA photos. Looking at the smoggy grey skies brings back memories. At first glance I thought it was another california barn find car that had surfaced a few years back. Plates and color are different though.

Good price on this 260z. Current bid 750$. If there is no frame damage its an even better deal. Cars that have been stored inside for decades are getting harder to find. If I was anywhere close to him i'de snap this car up. Check out that 80's velour! I must admit it.. in the early 80's i put red velour inserts in my 260. 1974 Datsun 260z | eBay

I was looking for old authentic crash testing done on datsun cars and found this slighty entertaining. Taking the datsun to the airport and trying to make it airborne wtf???The last part was my favorite. The detail on the inside and out was pretty good.

Check out these old rusty cars behind Rocky Auto shop in Japan. I'de be interested in the story behind the left hand drive orange 240z and how it got there. Obviously US military but why bother to import it there and leave it to rust. It was obviously well taken care of in the past. Do some servicemen import classic cars to Japan to make a quick buck?

You got anything better? This is the largest market for zcars probably in the world. Sure there are anomalies but many are real sales. I know because i've bought zcars on ebay in the past and got decent cars for decent prices. edit: just reading the specifics on the 69k z. Whenever I see "frame off" restoration I suspect they're american muscle car guys that think import cars are in the same league.

This site quantifies prices and sales. It appears prices are taking a little dip. Sorry to dissapoint z owners but z buyers will like it. 17. i know thats why my trusty tape measure will tell if its in the ballpark. But of course if someone needs a precise alignment go to a good alignment shop you can trust.
  18. You have wear on the outside edge right? I have the same thing. The old stock rubber bushings were worn on one side and allowed the a-arm to change position. after i replaced the rear control arm bushings with poly, the wheel position moved and matched the other side using the scientific 2 finger measurement. really should check the rear toe with a measuring tape but for now i think its much better.

The glass he sold was like brand new. he did a good job finding the cheapest shipper too. also might use car-part.com and look for dismantler in your area
  22. Corvette Museum Giant Sinkhole Swallows 8 Cars | Security Camera VIDEO - YouTube the black stingray is what makes me sick. the other cars personally don't do much for me. This kind of reminds me of when reggie jackson's warehouse caught fire and it burned up a shelby gt500
  23. A massive sinkhole that opened up under a Kentucky museum Wednesday morning swallowed several vintage and rare Corvettes. The National Corvette Museum said the Bowling Green Fire Department estimates the sinkhole to be around 25-30 feet deep and 40 feet wide. "This is going to be an interesting situation," Museum Executive Director Wendell Strode told the Bowling Green Daily News, noting that a structural engineer is at the Bowling Green facility to evaluate the damage inside its Sky Dome section. Six of the cars in the sinkhole are owned by the museum; two others are owned by General Motors. "It is with heavy hearts that we report that eight Corvettes were affected by this incident," the museum said in a press release. The museum said the cars are a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil" on loan from General Motors; a 1962 Black Corvette; 1984 PPG Pace Car; 1992 White 1 Millionth Corvette; 1993 Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Corvette; 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette and a 2009 White 1.5 Millionth Corvette. Strode told the Courier-Journal that emergency personnel allowed museum staff to remove the only surviving 1983 Corvette, which was at risk of joining the other cars in the sinkhole. “Before we do anything, like remove the other cars, we want that assessment so we know if there’s been any structural damage to the Sky Dome,” Strode told the Courier-Journal. The museum is closed for the day. An estimate of the cost of the damage done to vehicles and the museum has not yet been determined. No injuries have been reported and Bowling Green city spokeswoman Kim Lancaster told The Associated Press that this appears to be the first incident of its kind at the property. Bowling Green is also the only place where General Motors builds Corvettes. The city sits in the midst of Kentucky’s Western Pennyroyal area, where many of the state’s longest and deepest caves run underground, according to The Associated Press.
