quarter window weatherstrip question (09/70 build date 240z)
they look different from the ones I see on other threads. Maybe a design change... Here is a link from the MSA website where I ordered them. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SWR01I/34-1014 http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SWR01I/34-1015

quarter window weatherstrip question (09/70 build date 240z)
ok i am in the process of a total refresh and am currently working on the rear quarter windows. I have replaced the inner and outer weatherstrip but on the early model their is no third piece that screws on the front where the door weather strip goes. The piece is instead a small rectangle piece of rubber with a notch on one end. I need a picture showing correct placement of this piece. I assume it goes over the screws that hold the window together but know where assuming gets me. If needed I can post up pics of the exact piece and my suspected install location later on when I get home from work. Thanks in advance

1970 240Z carpet kit
I am confused to what exactly your question is. From your picture the only trim piece you seem to be missing is the chrome sill plate that says datsun. As for carpet you have the correct kit for your year.

Name of piece in fender?
Ok my z is tore done and I have been working on all the rust and just noticed I am missing something. Under my passenger fender I am missing the part that separates the fender from the door jamb. Not just the small rubber mudflap looking piece but the metal piece with seal that said piece hangs from. Did a quick check on blackdragon and store and don't see the part for sale. Anyone know the name of the part? Need to source one but hate asking for parts that I don't know the name of...thanks in advance

Dry ice is the bomb...
it is for sure the best way to get the nasty old tar mat out of your car in a half hour or less...I was skeptical at first but after the first 10 seconds I was sold... I am being honest when it only took me 30 min to get every single piece of tar mat out only using a hammer, screwdriver and scraper. The dry ice only cost 8 dollars for 15 pounds that was more than enough for the job...thanks to everyone who recommended using it you saved me tons of time...now it is time to start grinding and welding

volt/fuel gauge in 240
ok I bought a 76 volt/fuel gauge for my 71 and want to do the swap when I have the interior gutted but cant seem to find a writeup on the wiring. I found one for a 260 which I assume is similar but may have different wire colors. anyone who has done this swap who can chime in or has a link to a writeup would be great.also I have a ZX alternator with the adapter plug if it matters...thanks in advance

np if my blackberry didnt take crap pics i would have taken one today but u know how that goes
-
inner shift boot size?
ok long story short when i removed my console I noticed the rubber shift boot was too small for the hole mabye 2 inch gap at one end(I have a 240z build date 9/70) the hole seems better suited for teh larger shift boot from a 72+ my question is since the later boot has holes in it is it made to be screwed down. not a problem but just want to buy once... another thing i was thinking was mabye I am missing a spacer that was suposed to be used on a series 1? or possibly the po did a auto to manual swap and that is why the hole is larger? I can snap a pic tomorrow if that would help. I just want to have the correct fitting part when I put her back together...any help would be great...thanks in advance

Finally got my interior gutted
left only the a pillars and headliner because they are mint and didn't want to press my luck. a lot of the tar mat fell right off with just a plastic scraper. I need to find a place to buy dry ice at so i can get the rest off as painlessly as possible. one thing I noticed is that the PO had the wrong inner rubber shift boot(not the outer vinyl one but the one inside that that seals from the outside elements) the one they had was too small seems i need a bigger one.. I need to find where to get that and also the smaller rubber one over the gear bushings.cant wait to find more time to get rid of the rest of the tar mat then paint the interior with the SEM rust shield I bought then on goesthe fatmat...wish me luck
