Thanks Guy. The Kia weatherstrip seems to work and fit pretty good. I'll get by there soon.

Got the car august of 2011 in boxes without a bolt on it anywhere and its finally complete. I have never driven a 240z before tonight(except a couple test miles in the subdivision). I built one before this and a failed test run ended it life. The car drives awsome. still have a couple little things to do like glove box and figure out this hatch vent deal and mostly clean it. Its dirty as hell now but it was dinner time and I couldnt resist taking out to dinner so the interior cleaning will have to wait. First stop was gas station and first guy I saw commented on it which made it a pretty good night. Thanks for all the help found on this site. Brian

Thanks Guy...might need to take you up on that piece that my heater hose hooks to on side of engine. The color is Phantom Grey by nason. Base coat and clear coat.

Thanks for the compliments. It is a metallic color(or at least an EFFECT color). I dont think there will be any problem with panels being different color. I did spray everthing at same time so it wasnt like I mixed paint at seperate times. I would reccomend painting jams and inside of doors then mounting them back on car to paint them. I have a spot on my door that will need to be repainted at some point from where i turned it over and the sticky paint on the foam of my saw horses stuck to the door. Of course I was out of paint at that time so I cleared it and figured it will be something to do later.

After sanding, sanding, sanding, and more sanding...Im as done as Im gonna be. Sanded it with 800 grit and planning on painting it Saturday. Its not perfect but Im not a body guy either. Im planning on painting everything off the car then putting it back together. Brian
  7. Thanks Gary. Just ordered 195/70r/14's. My car is lowered a bit and I love how the wheels tuck under the fenders. Hopefully will have this thing back on road in a month or so(That pic is of my 1st z...which we wont talk about).
  8. Anyone know what size tires these would be with modern sizes. They say 185 sr 14. Im thinking 185/75R/14 but not sure. I wouldnt mind getting a little wider tire on my stock steel wheels but I want to keep all the height. So reading Arnes post Im thinking 195/70R/14. Will that be the same height but just a little wider? I dont care as much about the width as I do about how tall they are. These fill the wheel wells perfectly. Thanks. Brian
  9. Im not looking at mine right now but my guess is its not in the middle

I used a couple washer between the hood mount and hinge to move mine over a little. My car apparently had a minor accident before so the front was slightly bent. The hood hinge can be moved up or down a little by loosening the 3 bolts on each side of the hinge too. Brian

Anyone know where I can get the metal brackets to hold my 22mm front sway bar bushings to the frame? The original bracket is to small for the energy suspension bushings(only 22mm bushings I could find). Thanks. Brian
  12. Yep. Hopefully within next couple weeks. Nason(dupont) paint.
  13. Its house of kolor epoxy...the only color the paint store had. Once I add filler in some spots and reprime with urethane it will be phantom gray, which is basically gun metal gray(same color as engine bay is now). I hate this lime green. Reminds of 1st z project that didnt end to well. Brian
  14. Sprayed epoxy primer this afternoon. Took advantage of the 75 degree day.

Just thought of this...If you havent installed a R/t mount yet you could do it the same way Zsondabrain did it. This way you dont even need that bolt anyway because I believe the R/T mount he used with the GM mount eliminates that crossmember. I might be wrong but may be worth looking into if all other attemps to fix it fail. Good luck. Brian

If you can drill the bolt out, you can rethread it with a tap. You may have to use a slightly larger tap and bolt. If its broke off flush you could try using a dremel to cut a slot in it then use alot of heat and a big flat head screw driver to get it out but a bolt that size may be hard to get out with a screw driver. Lots of heat works wonders though. If you do drill it be real sure to use punch exactly in center of bolt if possible. Brian
  18. Guy, when Im back on the road I'll give you a hand bending one up.
  19. No problems. Haven't driven it much because Im still trying to get it ready to paint. I dont expect to have any issues since its not hitting anywhere. It stayed in gear the 5 miles Ive driven it so far. You can see in the picture I did have to trim the metal a little but I wont have to trim the console. Brian
  20. I was able to heat and bend my lever enough so all I had to trim was a little bit of sheet metal. Dont try to bend it all at once though. I put a bolt through the pin hole to keep from distorting it. Once it was bent I heated it up and flattend it out with a hammer to give me a little more clearance. With console in place it doesn't hit. In the pictures...the transmission is in 3rd gear. This is a type B 4 speed in place of a type A 4 speed. Brian
  21. I'd call Dave Rebello. Got mine from him and he is super helpfull when setting them up. They will come ready to install on engine for not much more than other places sell kits for...which you have to assemble. Think it took a month or so to get from him. The little bit extra money is well worth it to be able to talk to Dave about them if you have problems. Brian
  22. For anyone who comes across this, here was my problem. No fuel coming to filter. I could blow compressed air through the line to the tank and here a few bubbles but not enough and I couldnt blow through it with my mouth. It was probably 97% clogged. Stuck a piece of baling wire into fitting on outside of tank and could get it about 2" from the bottom. I was just about ready to pull tank back down but as a last ditch effort...I pulled sending unit and moved pickup tube over just a little bit. Then I drained the gas and looked through the drain plug and was able to see the tube with all the crap in it. Ran a fish tape and carb cleaner through it and its now good to go. FWIW Brian
