BLAKE! If you walk down the street and your neighbor's dog bites you it's their fault for having an unruly animal. If you walk down the street and the same dog bites you again it's your fault! Never judge a book by it's cover 2MUCHZ

NZ This is the first time I've seen these but with precise adjustment capability they will no doubt be fine. Take a look at www.arizonazcar.com. They offer a billet aluminum tension rod with the same precise adjustment characteristics although a tad more pricey. 2MUCHZ

Hello Tom Taking it down to the metal is the only way to find all the trouble spots and heal them. I am currently working on a 240 built in 3/72. I found it complete with all the interior and motor. It was fitted with an E88 cylinder but I don't plan to use it. The fitting of an N42 head with a bored and stroked lower end plus a diesel crankshaft will be the final setup. Good luck and take your time! 2MUCHZ

  5. Yes Jared A HUGE thumbs up on the resto. I too prefer the clean natural outside lines. I'm not much for the stick on body pieces. Like many other people salivating over your BAD arse rig, I too am restoring a 1972. I plan to keep mine carburetted 47mm OER triple side drafts. The old school look under the hood really appeals to me. Your machine will be a sleeper though. But I believe we can all tell by the dwelling in the background, you aren't strapped for cash. Please drive and look after her carefully. If you want to race, go where everyone else is racing "THE RACETRACK" not the street. You will have some challengers but do your best to resist the temptation to put them in their places. These cars are very nimble but don't offer much protection in the event of high speed impact. When you get it on the road take a long road trip in the early spring or early autumn. You will really appreciate the time, money, and effort spent. PEACE 2MUCHZ

DNTPUNCHGRANDPA I installed a HOOKER 1 in 2 out muffler on my 1970. The sound is deep and throaty and nothing even close to that spurned rice rocket sound. Any good muffler shop can install it without the unsightly under hang. No need to bother the heat shield either. I was able to create an agressive DTM look from behind with 45 degree exhaust tips. A 2 1/2" exhaust fits nicely into it. It sounds really nice at speed as well, not deafening at all. CICLISMO

I must agree BD It looks SWEEEEEET! Patience and a little craftmanship can go a long way. I have several dashes in various stages of wear so I can have a few practice tosses. Thank you for sharing the pics. I live in Florida so I will be tested by both heat and humidity. I am thinking of using a few dowels to connect and strengthen the area to be repaired.

COOP Any plating shop should be able to do a serviceable job because they should all have high speed buffers. After the cleaning process is done thoroughly a good buffing should make them look nice at a reasonable cost. I have a set of turbo wheels (SWASTIKAS) that I had done years ago in Calfornia. They came home really nice looking. After a couple years the chrome began to chip caused by the brake dust. So have them buffed and clear coated is my suggestion. NO PLATING!
  9. TW If indeed the fuel pump energizes without the car running finding your leak shouldn't be all too difficult. I do suggest doing it when the engine is cold. A hot exhaust header or manifold can cause an unwanted BBQ as well. If you are using something other than a stock fuel pump you may also have too much fuel PSI. Good Luck
