I'm finally starting my DIY car paint (240Z)
**Update on car paint** unfortunately i fell short of my goal of getting the color and clear on today. I had a few lil flaws that i needed to correct and then i shot an extra layer of primer before i could start shooting the color. Below are a few pictures of the color. For my first ever car paint i think it came out rather well. I am really pleased with the results and hope i don't screw-up the clear coat. let me know what you guys think of the car so far.

I'm finally starting my DIY car paint (240Z)
**Update on car paint** Unfortunately i had to travel for work all of this week and hence progress on the car has been slow. I just finished spraying the final coat of primer tonight. Tomorrow i'll do some sanding in the morning and hopefully i'll have the color and clear done by the end of the day. Below are a few pictures of the primer. It has a 1 or 2 flaws but i'll fix that tomorrow morning before shooting a coat of sealer.

Sould I add pearl or not?
My car is a 240Z with ZG flares and 17X8 (F) , 17X8.5 ® Zauber mesh wheels. I have decided to paint the car a Viper red and am wondering should I add pearl to the paint or not. If I am to add pearl what color pearl should I add to the red paint? Also if any of you guys have examples of red paint with pearl and could share a few pictures it would be greatly appreciated. below is a example of viper red paint:

Is the 280zx condenser a direct bolt on in the S30?
-
1988 300ZX A/C in a 240Z?
Any one see any obvious pitfalls in trying to install the compressor, condenser, and dryer from a 88 300ZX to the old dealer installed A/C that came with a 240Z.

My refreshed 240z seats
The supplier is actually a little mom n pop shop in southern India. I was able to get the seat covers made there because my parents are currently in India and offered to have them made and shipped out to me.

My refreshed 240z seats
I shipped the original seat cover overseas and had them make a new seat cover that was a little bit more modern looking. The original seat cover was completely disassembled and used as a blue print to cut the new seat covers.

Old rubber brake line wont come off
Thanx for all the help guys. I went to Wal-mart and bought a $15 propane torch and used it to heat the coupling. Once the metal was red hot; i use the flare nut wrench on the hard line side and a regular wrench on the rubber hose side and managed to get the threads to unbind. Once again thanx for all the helpful tips.

Old rubber brake line wont come off
Well I got the 10mm flared nut wrench but still not luck with getting the coupling to break.

Old rubber brake line wont come off
Hey guy, I'm trying to upgrade my old OEM rubber brake lines to SS brake lines. The problem is that the old rubber brake line just wont unscrew off the hard metal tube that comes form the master cylinder. I really don't want to damage the hard line or the little S- shaped hard line that are connected together using the rubber tube. I am scared that if i apply any more force i'll end up rounding out the little 10mm nut at on the hard line side. What would be the best solution to get the little piece of flex runner tube out without damaging the hard lines. Here are a few pictures of my brake lines:

Just finished putting down some sound deadening
UPDATE HEAT SHIELD INSTALLED Just installed some heat shield. I use a product called Reflectix: Double Reflective Insulation that i bought from Home Depot ($25 for 50sqft). I read a bunch of reviews from people on the Corvette forum who seem to have had very good results shielding the cabin from engine / exhaust and transmission heat. http://www.homedepot.com/Reflectix/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xr5Z19n/R-100052556/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 Reflectix is very easy to work with and I with help from dear ol' dad managed to get the firewall, transmission tunnel and cabin floors done in about 3 hrs (Start to finish). I used 3M super 77 adhesive and Aluminum foil tape to stick and secure the Reflectix.

Just finished putting down some sound deadening
Thanx for the compliments guys. I did not do the roof because I really did not want to remove the upholstery since it looks to be in mint condition. I did however put deadner on the rear hatch.

Just finished putting down some sound deadening
Rattle trap is 0.080 inches thick and we used 90sqft for the car. I think we added 35lbs to the car in sound deadening. I installed the sound deadening to cut down on road noise. I am not sure yet as to what system I'll per putting in the car.

Just finished putting down some sound deadening
Well we just finished a pita job of sound deadening the car. My dad did 99% of the work . Currently my car does not have any stereo equipment but i hope to put in a simple system later on down the road. The sound deadening i used is called Rattle trap made by fatmat. I bought it on eBay; 100sqft shipped for $160. The mat stick very well to all surfaces. Also dont be fooled into thinking that this is a quick job that can be done in 1 afternoon. It take a good bit of time to make sure the surface is clean and ready for application and the pieces are cut well so everything fits together nicely with no wrinkles and huge overlaps at the edges. Here are a few pictures of the finished product. Can you guys recommend a good heat shield for the firewall and transmission tunnel.

Please identify this part
If i remember right i removed it from the engine day of a 81 Turbo zx; it was located near the distributor.
