Just wondering if we have a member from RENO??????? Rick.

Nissan doesn't want to look back????
Yes, I know where you're coming from. Down here, Australias own, General Motors Holden, decided to reintroduce the Holden Monaro, which would have to be the most popular locally designed and built car in our motoring history. Of course, the only similarity between the "OLD" and the "NEW" is the name. I understand that the Holden Monaro is being sold in the USA as a Pontiac GT. I reckon that had "they" designed the car to closely resemble the early Monaro, not only the younger generation would be interested but also the older rev heads (like me) who owned a Monaro would have bought one. "nuff sed" Rick.

sadness
:tapemouth :tapemouth :tapemouth kmack, I'm in total agreement with you on licensing tests. Down in this neck of the woods a half brained irishman can pass the test. Or an inteligent chimp. All the lessons and testing is done within City/Town boundaries, where the speed limit is 50/60kph, usually in a 4 cylinder buzz box. The brand new licensed driver can then purchase a powerful car and drive on the open highway where the legal speed limit is generally 100kph. And the powers that be scratch their heads trying to figure out how to lesson the road toll and stop our youth from self destruction. Seems simple to me. Rick.

To ALL you septic tanks
:stupid: :stupid: :stupid: Enrique, I GIVE UP, SURRENDER, CAPITULATE EVEN. YOU WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. However, Did you know that The Fat Man In Red, whilst in The Land Down Under, only uses reindeer in the colder areas?????????????? When he heads into The Outback he hitches up a team of kangaroos 'cause they can handle the heat. The bearded Aussie entertainer Rolf Harris told the story in his recording of the song "Six White Boomers". (Boomers are bloody BIG kangaroos). Regards, Rick.

To ALL you septic tanks
:classic: Between June '65 and June '66 I had the pleasure of meeting quite a few of you Yanks. They were members of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, based at Bien Hoa, South Vietnam. Now, while the main reason for this post is to wish all you ZED car blokes a Merry Xmas and an enjoyable and SAFE festive season, If any of you know someone who was with the 173rd. (Otherwise known as "The Herd"), would you please pass on my respects to them as well. Do you realise that Santa delivers here first, before he visits you lot?????????? I guess you COULD say that you just get our leftovers. hope he got my letter. Rick.

Honk if you drive a Z, or Where's the love?
Hmmmmm, yair, right, so I should be flashing the lights, honking the horn and waving to other Zeds. I tried it today and it WORKED EVERY TIME. The other bloke waved back. It did feel a bit weird though, parked nose on to a shop front window flashing the lights, honking the horn and waving to my reflection in the window. There aint any other Zeds in my part of the world that I know of. Got a few funny looks. Rick. '74 Bronze 260 Z Sports Coupe.

Sexy Turkey
Hey there EScanlon, Mate, I had a girlfriend with a figure like that when I was teenager a couple of thousand years ago. She even posed in that position on a regular basis. Rick.

OOOOH, am I naughty or not??????
ROFL I parked in the local shopping centre today. Young bloke comes up and says,"What is it, I haven't seen one of these before" Let him spend a few minutes looking over my baby while I gave him a rundown on the car's history. A totally fictitious history that is. I actually had him convinced that my Zed was an extremely rare, short wheel based prototype of the E Type Jag. ROFL Oh yes, by the way, I told him the truth before I left. After all, the true history of the Zed is more interesting than that of the short wheel based prototype of the E Type Jag. Rick.

Speaking about bad Z's (I know its hard to imagine a bad z, but...)
ROFL Mr. Camouflage and Leeroy, You mention a Z turned into a ute due to a confrontation with a cow. Well, I was told by the previous owners of "Precious",(that's my wife's nick name for my Zed), that in 1976, two years after they bought the car, they had a head on with a bull. Apparently the bull did not cause any damage to the front of the car but put a large dent in the roof above the windscreen and demolished the hatch. I think a transformation into a ute would be a good option under those circumstances. Oh, yes, and, Mr. C, the car was covered in CRAP and that ain't BULLSHIT either. By the way, they told me that the bull staggered off into the scrub. Rick.

does anyone have a shotgun

I'm a traitor... the ennemy within...
:disappoin :disappoin :disappoin Hey you lot, What's with all this Bye Bye, So Long, See Ya Round, Adios, Ore Reservior Crap????????????????? Is there a rule that says you must ride off into the sunset because you leave the Herd??????????????? While you may have suffered a temporary loss of direction, you ALL still retain something some of us new blokes do not have; KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE which, up to now, has been invaluable. Such a shame to lose it. My thanks for your past input and suggestions and good luck for the future. Rick.

Attack of the cigarette lighter
:stupid: :stupid: :stupid: It's happened to me a few times. Can be rather a lot of fun when it bounces off your knee and onto the seat, right between your legs. As the old Jerry Lee Lewis song says, "GOODNESS, GRACIAS. GREAT BALLS OF FIRE". Rick. 1974 Bronze 260 Zed Sports Coupe

Bog/Bondo examples....
:stupid: :stupid: :stupid: That's the big problem; Not knowing what the PO has previously done. As I mentioned to Alfadog some time ago, I would not consider buying a car until I had been over every inch of it with a magnet to check for BOG. Problem is, of course, smart buggers who use bog will mix metal filings into it to try fooling people like me. However, if you use a SMALL magnet, you can FEEL the difference. Your ZED.
