:stupid: Carl, your Darwin Award inspired me to report the following; This item appeared in the Rockhampton Morning Bulletin, Thursday, July 17, 2003. Lisa Burnett, 23, from San Diego visiting her in laws, called into a supermarket to pick up some groceries. For the next hour, outside the shops, people noticed Lisa sitting in her car with the windows rolled up and her eyes closed, with both hands behind the back of her head. Her face was crumbling into tears periodically. Eventually a woman walked over to the car and, knocking on the window, asked if Lisa was O.K. Without moving her head an inch, and in a quiet voice full of fear, Lisa replied that she had been shot in the back of the head and had been holding her brains in for over an hour. Without checking any further, the woman ran inside and called the police and the ambos. On the scene in minutes, the cops broke into the car because the doors were locked and Lisa refused to remove her hands from her head. Once inside the car, the crisis was over. To their amazement, the ambos found that Lisa was actually holding a wad of bread on the back of her head. A canister of par-baked scone dough had exploded from the heat, making a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot. The wad of dough had catapulted through the car, hitting Lisa in the back of the head. When she reached back to find out what it was, she felt the sticky mess and thought it was her brains. The dull ache in her head certainly felt like a gun shot wound. Initially, Lisa passed out, but quickly recovered and tried to hold her brains in for over an hour until someone noticed and came to her aid. Lisa is a BLONDE. Now, I reckon that is a bloody corker of a story. The fact that Lisa is a blonde WAS part of the article and NOT my add on. Rick.
  2. :disappoin :disappoin :disappoin :disappoin Hmmmm, new shockies but still has a "bumping" sound in the rear end. Removed the spare and all tools etc. Still "bumping". Any suggestions ??? Rick.
  3. G'Day George, Mate, the first two games were a bloody disgrace. Queensland DESERVED to lose both games. All credit to the Blues, they ran the maroons into the ground. The third and final game on Wednesday night saw the cane toads play as they should have in games 1 & 2. One consolation is that the total tally is 33 to the cockroaches and 34 to the cane toads. Rick.
  4. Years ago,(before I was born ) when heaps of white guys wearing white chased a black fella around, it was the Ku Klux Klan, now it's called the US PGA tour. Chris, I love it. I'll be sure to tell it to the blokes at golf on Friday. Shame your one and only golf game was such a dismal failure. It really is a good game. Speaking of good games, Barb tells me that the maroons are KILLING the blues. GOTTA GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Rick.
  5. haHA!!!!!!!!!!! Thought you'd caught me on that one didn't you Lachlan ???? It goes like this mate. Met 'er in '66 Wed 'er in '67 IT IS NOW 2003. By using the powers of deduction, that is 36 years of marriage. I wouldn't want another one mate, it's taken all this time to get used to each other. Imagine trying to break in another one at my age !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick.
  6.  G'Day George, Barb and I only started playing in January this year. My h-cap is 28 and going DOWN slowly. We love the game, play at least twice, sometimes three times a week, chuck the clubs in the caravan whenever we take off for a week or so. Rick.
  7. Christa, a big WELCOME from the land down under. Sorry about your mum  HEY ALFADOG, your comment to Christa, "Dunno, I think they might be winking at you rather than the car.....Nothing better than a good lady in a good car, gives me the impression that your a bit of a sweet talker huh ?????? Anyway, all about me......I'll keep it short. Born and bred in Sydney 1943......hate the place. Joined the Army in August '64 Met "She who must be obeyed" late '66, after returning home from an all expenses paid tour of the beautiful and friendly country of Viet Nam. Took my discharge in '84. One son, a psychologist. (When he tries using his magic on me I just tell him where to place his wand). Now retired, living in sunny Queensland in a beautiful coastal town called Yeppoon with my lovely wife of 36 years, 2 Jack Russell Terriers, my golf clubs. fishing rods and of course, "Precious", my 260Z. Said I'd keep it short. Rick.

G'Day from the land down under, badmiata, I can't really comment on the dual headlights mate. I'm into keeping the Zed as original as possible. Just thought I'd say WELCOME to the club. You'll find the blokes to be very helpful and willing to pass on information and we're a friendly bunch as well. Rick.
  9. Gav wrote "Why aren't you installing them yourself". I would have Gav, but I'm not set up to compress the springs. Besides, it would cut into the time I can spend on the golf course and fishing and checking out the good looking Victorians that come up here to the land of sunshine for the winter. Rick.
  10. Originaly posted by US240Z "know it all condescending people" :disappoin :disappoin :disappoin :disappoin US240Z, Surely you are not refering to anyone in THIS club ????? In the time I have been a member I have yet to read anything other than DETAILED, helpful advice from others far more knowledgable than me on the subject of Zeds. Perhaps you have misinterpreted DETAILED advice as condescension. Rick.
  11. :finger: :finger: Don't you feel sorry for the poor young bugger ????? Any of you septics know how to get in touch with the young bloke and suggest he sign on with us, where he'll get a DECENT reception and HONEST answers from knowledgable Zed Car enthusiasts instead of the crap he got from THAT site ?. I can't stand people who treat youngsters like they are wasting oxygen by breathing. They should receive the sort of encouragement that OUR members give freely. Rick.

Welcome to the club mate. As 2ManyZ's and ZmeFly said, pretty well everything you want to know about Zeds can be found amongst the posts on this site. And if you can't find what you want to know, all you need do is ASK. Rick.

Wouldn't want to traumatise the youngster. :D :D :D Nah, Carl, I don't think we need to worry about "the pup", he seems like a pretty bright youngster.(He's edumacated). Rick.
  14. :tapemouth  :tapemouth  Talk about a comedy of errors. Friday before last I received the replacement rear shock absorbers in the mail, drove "Precious" to the workshop, gave the shockies to the mechanic and asked him to call me when she was ready to go. He rang me that afternoon to tell me that the shockies were the wrong ones, two inches too bloody long. He'd been in touch with the supplier in Sydney and the RIGHT ones would be here ASAP. THE BLOODY THINGS ARRIVED TODAY !!!!!! On a lighter note, ( "Precious" is a '74 model 260Z), the worn out shocks had a damn good reason for giving up the ghost. After all, they were 29 years old. Yes, thats right, they were THE ORIGINAL OIL FILLED SHOCKIES. It was only two weeks ago that they started to get noisy. Says a lot for Datsun technology of the time. In a way, I'm almost looking forward to the front shockies getting noisy. Rick.
  15. Hey Gav, It ALL hinges on just how good your memory is mate. Rick.

Most certainly a blatant case of serious sucking up. Although, to be honest about it,.......I have to agree with him. Rick.

Don't worry, Alfapuppy, we'll let you count the one in your avatar! Yes Carl, I agree. We'll be nice to Alfapuppy. Good thing he didn't call himself "AlfaCAT" huh ???. If the suggestion by James comes to pass, I'll definately have to upgrade my scanner skills. Rick.
  19. :classic: Oh, Carl, I love your sense of humour mate. Wish I'd thought of that. Rick.

ROFL ROFL ROFL When it comes to avatars, I reckon Mull's is the second best one. Penguin mugging a penguin. Who's is the best ??  Karen's of course. Rick.
  21. :classic: Hey there Z Babe, Glad to hear you weren't offended. You took me by surprise. I for one am very happy to have you on board, we could use a few more ladies around the place. Rick.
  22.  Well, so far I've narrowed it down to; 1st and second from the left and 4th and 5th from the right. It's a bloody tossup. Rick.
  23. No offence taken Gav, it's all in fun. Lachlan, If the ladies KNOW that they are not only wanted but also appreciated, we just might lure a few more in here. Rick.
  24.  Oh boy, Oh boy, OH BOY, Thank you Mike, THANK YOU. I LOVE THE NEW HOME PAGE WELCOME PHOTO. Actually spent a few minutes having a good squiz to make up my mind which one I like the best. Haven't decided yet. Better have another look. Rick.
  25. :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky: Yeeees, Alfapuppy, Especially where a good looking sheila is concerned mate. As I've said before, it's a hell of a lot of fun being a self confessed dirty old man. The smilies I have used sums me up pretty well. The admiration of the female of the species is an art form in itself, and I have always admired art. Rick.
