Another Miracle on eBay!!
Yair Tom, A Didge, (didgeridoo), is a hollow length of wood, (lengths vary). It's a traditional Aboriginal instrument. Playing one is an art in itself as the musician must learn to exhale through the mouth while similtaneously inhaling through the nose. Try it !!!!. According to tribal law, women are not permitted to even touch a Didge. On the subject of Tomohawk, I'm afraid I must disagree with you. The only reason I had a dig at him was to give a poor, often picked on, "breats" lover named Bill a break. Rick.

Soup is Good Food.......
Can't help wondering whether it was the top/bottom edge or the rounded side of the can that came in contact with his "member". Either way, it sure would have turned him off soup for life. Rick. :devious: :devious:

What do you consider to be a real Z?
Yair, ..good point there Mick. Correct me if I'm wrong Carl but, hasn't this subject been flogged to death in the past ???. There are as many differing opinions as there are Zed car enthusiasts. If a bloke is honestly enthusiastic about his Zed, I'm not going to tell him it's not a true Zed. The same question could be put to the owners of MG's, Jags, Mustangs and literally dozens of other marques, receiving similar answers. IMHO, the more fiddling around, installing different engines, gear boxes, diffs, seating etc., the less of a TRUE Zed it becomes. But that's just MY opinion and I'll never tell someone he's a bloody fool because his opinion differs from mine because, ...HE MIGHT BE RIGHT !!!! It's really a moot point. Rick. :devious: :devious:

My Z won't start
I had a problem with the distributor cap. The car just would not start. Checked all connections, leads, etc, replaced fuel filter but still no go. The problem turned out to be the contacts inside the distributor. After a touch up with screw driver, the old girl started first kick. Rick.

How tall is your 240z?
G'Day Tom, According to my Haynes manual, the Zed's dimentions are; 240Z 260Z 260Z 2+2 Overall length ............ 165.2 in 169.1 in 180.9 in 419.6 cm 419.4 cm 459.5 cm Width ....................... 64.1 in 64.1 in 64.9 in 162.8 cm 162.8 cm 164.9 cm Height ...................... 50.5 in 50.6 in 50.8 in 128.3 cm 128.5 cm 129.0 cm Wheelbase ................ 90.7 in 90.7 in 102.6 in 230.4 cm 230.4 cm 260.6 cm Weight Unladen Manual Gearbox .......... 2350 lbs 2499 lbs 2669 lbs 1043 kg 1134 kg 1210 kg Auto Trans. ............... 2400 lbs 2509 lbs 2679 lbs 1089 kg 1134 kg 1215 kg Don't ask me how come the 260 is longer than the 240 is in inches, yet manages to be bloody SHORTER in cm's. :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: Obviously a typo I double checked the book, that's what is printed. Hope that's of some help to you Tom, Rick.

antennae install
With my 260 I found removal of the plastic panels a hell of a lot easier if the gas strut and mounting bracket was removed first. Less chance of cracking the old plastic. Rick.

I need to come clean
Yair Will, I also own a Ford (Found On Rubbish Dump). Down here in the Land Down Under, Volvo drivers are about as popular as a pork chop in a sinagogue. Commonly referred to as "A BLOODY VOLVO DRIVER !!!!'. I've also had, over the years, 3x Volkswagens, a Chrysler Centura, Toyota 4 Runner, a couple of Holdens, a couple of Fords and even a Mazda (Boy, would I LURVE TO GET MY HANDS ON A COSMO). I firmly believe in spreading the wealth around to help keep the poor working men of the world employed. Rick. :devious: :devious: :devious:

I need to come clean
Don't let 'em fox ya Robert, There's nothing wrong with Toyotas. I've had a drop side ute since '89 and apart from normal maintenance costs I've only had to replace the in line fuel filter. BMW ??????????? Oh, well, .....at least it's not a Volvo. Rick. :devious: :devious: :devious:

Z Concept Feedback
How about making it a bit longer by adding a little to the rear while following the contour of the curve over the roof and across the hatch, even up to a couple of feet. Another "How about" is to add retractable headlight covers that slide up over the front or rear of the headlights. Rick.

Z newb here.
G'Day Dave, Yair, I just LOOOOVE the colour of my Z. It's the original colour of the car. The bloke who did the paint job did a sample panel to show us how it looked. When my "She Who Must Be Obeyed" saw it, she suggested a gold sparkle would look good so he gave it a top coat of gold pearl. In the shade she,(the car that is), looks just like she has a nice paint job but in the sun, she SPARKLES. My wife gave the car the nickname "PRECIOUS". "Precious" is also a '74 260Z but she's a Coupe. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Production of 260Z 2+2
Hey there Gavin, Just picked up this thread. As you know Gav, "Precious" is a 260Z Coupe, born in August '74. A mate has a '76 260Z and there seems to be a difference in the depth of the spare wheel well. The mate's car's is not as deep as mine. The most obvious difference is,..... his car is white. According to Just Cars Magazine, on the World Price Guide page for April '05, 240Z .........1970---74. 260Z .........1974---78. (no breakup between Coupe and 2+2). 280ZX .......1978---83. 300ZX .......1984---86. Rick. :devious: :devious: :devious:

Z newb here.
G'Day Dave, A hearty welcome from the Land Down Under. Spend some time looking around the site. You'll be AMAZED at the amount of information you'll find regarding Zed cars. If you've got aproblem and can't find the answer in one of the threads you only have to ask the question and someone will have the answer. You'll find that we're a friendly bunch of blokes. Rick. :devious: :devious:

carby flooding
G'Day Chris, Have you looked through the carby thread yet ? It's more than likely you'll find your answer there. As they were a pro rebuild I can't see how there'd be any foreign matter in the carby. (If done correctly). Was the rebuild done recently or 4 years ago ? If the needle is blocked, tapping the carby with the handle of a screwdriver will sometimes clear the blockage. That being the case, I'd remove the fuel bowl and clean it out. Having removed the fuel bowl I'd check the free movement of the float. Check out the carby thread though mate. Rick.

Joke
Tom and Sue were getting ready to go out. Tom was in the bedroom getting dressed. Sue, having just finished her shower, wrapped a towel around her and walked out of the bathroom just as the doorbell rang. Opening the door just wide enough to see who was there, she recognised their next door neighbour, Carl. Noticing that Sue had only a towel covering her, Carl said, "Sue, .. I've admired your beautiful body for some time now and I'm prepared to offer you eight hundred dollars to open that towel". Sue thought about it for a couple of minutes and decided that, for eight hundred dollars, ....why not !!!!. So she opened the towel, giving Carl a full frontal view. Carl handed over the eight hundred dollars and went back home. When Sue entered the bedroom, Tom asked, "Who was that at the door?". Sue said, "It was Carl, .. the next door neighbour". Tom replied, "Oh, .. did he return the eight hundred dollars I loaned him?". Rick.
