  1. OOOHHhh, Mate, that's bloody terrible. I suppose the rescue crew cut the roof off huh ?. A person would have to be extremely lucky to survive a head on at 100kph. When you stop and think about it, that's like hitting a brick wall at 200kph. Rick.
  2. Most States in Oz have banned the sale of fireworks to the general public I believe. I think the only exception is the Australian Capitol, Canberra. Licensed contractors working under strict regulations control fireworks displays at events. Lachlan Alfapup, What about dry ice in water ?????????. Hey Gunner, As for Independence Day being the 4th of July, I reckon the majority of Oz youth would know that. I wouldn't be surprised if our youth knew more about American history than Australia's. Rick. :devious: :devious:

G'Day there Brandy, Another determined woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As you've no doubt discovered, we military types can be a real challenge. Barb considers that she's scored a major victory in my re-education into civilian life, (I took my discharge in '84). I've finally learned to put the toilet seat back down. You got that far yet ?????????? Rick. :devious: :devious:

G'Day there Gavin, Mate, I still have my dress uniform but I made the mistake of leaving it hanging up in a dark wardrobe which caused it to SHRINK to the point where it no longer fits me. I'm gradually subjecting it to increasing lengths of time in the light of day in the hope that it will eventually fit me again. As for "She Who Must Be Obeyed", Barb reckons the reason she's hung around so long is because she could never refuse a challenge and she hasn't finished with me yet. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  9. Hey Will, Are we gonna have another "Pick On Bill Day?' Rick. :devious: :devious:

Hey there Billy Boy, You're dead right on that point mate. It wasn't my good looks, personality and charm that first attracted my wife, it was the UNIFORM. The poor woman has been stuck with me for 38 years. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  11. Hey there Mike, If a fly didn't have wings would it be called a walk ??? Rick.

Ahhh, .. Lachlan me young mate. Would you believe that some blokes actually join the Army for patriotic reasons ????????? I did. I was a third generation soldier following my Father and Grandfather before him. Several of my old mates joined for the same reason........ Patriotism. As for war, ....... no, it's not necessary (I doubt if Mr. Honycutt MEANT it that way). However, mankind being what it is, I would say that, for whatever the reason, it is inevitable. Like Mr. Honeycutt, I too served 20 years, however my battallion went to Viet Nam in 65, operating as part of the American 173rd Airborne. This richard cranium with the warped mind is typical of the soldier bashers of the Viet Nam era. What he needs is to spend some time with returned Veterans. He'll find that nobody hates war more than someone who has experienced it. Bill, I can understand your reaction, but he's entitled to his opinion mate. What he obviously doesn't take into account is that having the right to voice his opinion so openly was bought and paid for in the lives of men like those that he denigrates. PITY HIM !!!!!!! Rick.

G'Day Andrea, Welcome from the Land Down Under. Lady, ... PLEASE listen to what EVERYONE has been saying. Stay with the SU's. These blokes know what they're talking about. They've been there, done that and got the skinned knuckles and empty pockets to prove it. Has your Step - Father read these posts ????? If not, ask him to. SU's are simple to work on. As a mechanic I make a damn good brick layer yet even I can work on 'em. (After being shown what to do by a fellow Zed owner). If you check out the technical threads you'll find a wealth of information on Zeds. As for car cancer, you might check out the area behind the headlights and the bottom of the doors. I'd also suggest removing the aluminium strips (with the word "Datsun" on them), from the bottom of the door jam and the side kick panels inside the car. You now own one of the 10 most important cars in the history of motoring. ENJOY. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  17. Yair, What Carl said. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  18. Oh, YES, nice cars. Hey Mike, put me down for one of those autographs, they might be worth a fortune 20 years from now.(But not if he expects payment). By the way Carl number 2, I haven't seen any cakes of Bon Ami yet, ----- Still looking though. Hey, GUNNER !!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck is a Quack wacker ???????????????? Is it similar to the relationship between a Kiwi and a sheep ???????????????? Rick. :devious: :devious:
  19. Yair Victor, that's what I meant. Standing beside the front L/H mudguard,(fender to you lot), and taking careful note of the mirror, then repeating the exercise on the R/H side, The only difference I noticed was that the mirror was turned in opposite directions. I could be wrong but, wouldn't it be easier to simply buy another mirror and just turn it around ????????????. As I said before, I regard it as purely cosmetic. Will, Have you had answer back from All Z Parts yet ?????????? You said before that you tried ringing but couldn't get an answer. Ummmm, you did allow for the difference in time zones, ............... didn't you ????? Rick. :devious: :devious: :devious:
  20. Yair, you're right Mr C, "Someone" will buy the name and sell cars under the brand name but they won't REALLY be M.G's will they. I feel for the owners of Classic M.G's. How embarrassing !!!!!!!!!! I'd like to meet up again with the bloke who turned his nose up at my "Precious" and said, "Oh, .... one of THEM !!". Rick. :devious: :devious:
  21. Sorry mate, no can do with pics. Loaned my camera to number 1 son. He's in Brisbane. So's the camera. Rick. :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:

  23. Will, You may have noticed that my "Precious" sports a passenger side mirror. When turned fully inwards, I cannot see the side of the car at all. The view is about 12 inches off the car. Whether this is normal or not I don't know. In all honesty, I regard the passenger side mirror as purely cosmetic. That's all it's good for. Just for the sake of it, I turned "MY" driver's side mirror fully inwards and sat in the left hand seat to see what the view was. It's exactly the same. Can't see the side of the car. I don't mean to chuck in a red herring, just thought it best to mention it. Rick.
  24. AR15's are no good mate. Show 'em a bit of dust and they jam up. Now, an M79 grenade launcher or M72 L.A.W. will do the trick .................... Seriously though, I go around with a vaccuum cleaner 2 or 3 times a week sucking up the little buggers. When finished and before switching off the machine, send a squirt of spider killer into the suction hose. They can't escape the spray then repeat every couple of days for around two weeks to break the breeding cycle. As Carl suggested, spray the outside perimeter to stop more unwanted guests arriving. Rick.
