I PM'd him last night to let him know he is missed but, so far, no response. You're right, Sweetpea, Carl does have a "way with words". I expect he'll be back on deck in the not too distant future keeping us in line. Rick. :devious: :devious:

. They didn't Mike. While the cars may or may not have been capable of placing, as I'm sure you'd know, a heck of a lot is dependant upon the drivers ability. Rick.

Barb and I ran a time control point for a local rally yesterday. From 0730 to 2015, it was a long, long day but very interesting. There were only 36 cars in the run with a total of 10 Datsuns. 1x 240Z 1x Stanza 1x 180B SSS 1x 200B 1x Sunny 1x 1200 Coupe 1x 240K 1x 240K GT 2x 1600 More Datsuns represented than any other marque. A mate who usually rallies his white 260Z was assistant course marshall this year so drove his green 240Z around instead. "Precious" stayed home, safe in her garage. My Toyota ute had to negotiate the potholes and muddy roads. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Has anyone thought to PM Alan to check up on him ????????? Rick.

The London bombings are bloody terrible. Last year the Brit security forces managed to stop a couple of attacks and arrested a number of people. It has been suggested by an expert on terrorism that the perpetrators must have been living in England and planning this attack for quite some time. I'm sure the Poms will bounce back. Hitler couldn't bring them to their knees so I'm damn sure terrorists won't do it. I would suggest that Australians living in major centres should be on their guard. We could be next!!!!!!! Rick.

Took mine to a watchmaker in the local shopping centre. Four days and a hundred bucks later and the dashboard sports a working clock. Rick.
  8. Dave, I hate 4wd's in the burbs and the city. It's bad enough in a normal sized car ... look out the dvrs window and see a bloody great bull bar bearing down on you but in a Zed, .... man, your looking at the diff. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  9. dogma 420. G'Day Dave, I mentioned earlier that I'll still take my Zed out on the highway. But then, I'm an old fart. The wife and I are back to where we started ........just the two of us, retired and enjoying life. I had a bit of fun with Steve with the caveman bit but I take my hat off to him for his decision to not drive his Zed on the highway, depriving himself of that pleasure for the reasons he stated. I certainly would not say it was "p**** Talk". Rick. :tapemouth

Yair Gunner, Just imagine losing a part of Mt. Rushmore. Well, ..... at least there's some left standing ...... for now. Yes, ... it is a shame to have that happen. When we saw it on the T.V. News my wife commented that we had at least seen it last year. Just goes to prove that Old Mother Nature is the strongest force on the planet. Rick.
  11. Hey, Mike the NZeder, The big problem with blokes who get their driving capabilities mixed up with their possibilities is that they're allowed to breed. A recent study, (in America I think), showed that kids mimic their parents driving habits, i.e. son copies dad, daughter copies mum. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  12. DUMB-DE-DUMB, DUMMMMMEEEEEEE   Rick.
  13. Steve, .. I know exactly what you mean mate. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of us mouldy oldies have been there, .... done that. When we started our family I sold my bike, the second love of my life, and bought an old car for to and fro from work 'cause of the added protection it afforded in the event of an accident. About ten years ago, a mate of mine was killed whilst driving at 60kph, (around 37mph). A 4wd got him. One of my favorite sayings is that, 4wd's are like heads ........... seems like everyone's got one. Darned things should be confined to the country and banned from the cities and suburbs. Rick.
  14. Yair Ben, I had a look through your gallery mate. NIIIIIICE. I take it that you like Koala Bears huh ??? Have you been down under down under yet ????? Or are you saving that for retirement ??. By the way, I meant to mention that my "Precious" still has her original engine and auto box. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  15. Well now Steve, I've always reckoned that when the big "G" upstairs calls your name out then you've got no choice in the matter mate, .... you just GO. If mankind ... er, .... womankind .... er, ......PERSONkind, (g'day Vicki), chose not to do something because of what MIGHT happen, men would still be romancing their women with a ten pound club and dragging them back to their cave (heads first of course) to meet their mother. Then the famous ZED would never have been designed and built and I wouldn't have bought one and met a great bunch of blokes like you lot. And it would have been YOUR FAULT. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Come on now WILL, You reckon Texas is big ??????????????? Mate, down here there was a cattle station (ranch) called Victoria Downs that was bigger. Rick. :devious: :devious: :devious:

This item appeared in the local newspaper; "SALT LAKE CITY -- For $A13,000 U.S. woman Kari Smith has gone ahead and had her forehead tattooed with the Web address of a gambling site. Ms Smith, 30, who sold her unusual advertising space on eBay, said the money will give her 11 year old son a private education". Wotcha reckon, ....... true or false ????????? Rick. :devious: :devious:
  20. Report on the nights news that they found the bodies of the missing couple. Tragic loss of two young lives. Rick.
  21. Well, ... since you asked, I think it gives the front end a "too heavy" look, making the side view of the car seem seem out of proportion by adding extra length on the front of the car, which could only be alleviated by adding a little to the rear as well. If you're going to customise the looks of the car, go all the way mate. However, as has already been said, it doesn't really matter WHAT I think, ... as long as YOU like it, that's all that matters. After all, it's your money. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  22. Well, now, ... this probably won't mean much to you lot from north of the equator but, just so Ben won't feel so lonely, here's mine; 8/74 RS30 - 000940 Bronze 260Z Sports Coupe. Gee Lachlan, only a difference of 91. Feeling better now Ben ?. :classic: :classic: By the way, if your avatar shows the interior of your car, .... Mate, I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!! Rick. :devious: :devious:
  23. Ah, Lachlan, Didn't see this post until AFTER I sent you a PM asking if you were O.K. T.V. news tonight said that that missing couple still hadn't been found but that a wheel and canopy frame off a 4wd had been found. Rick.
  24. Hey there Chris, Good to see you back on the site and congratulations on aquiring the Zed. At $88.00 you'd have been mad to pass it up. How's the car cancer underneath though ?. Rick.
  25. I have to agree with Mr. C. and the 240 Kiwi. I can't see anyone remaining concious in a prang that bad. Even wearing seatbelts and in a modern car, if the car has a head on at a cumulative total of TWO HUNDRED KMS PER HR, the chances of survival would be very, very slim, especially if the car bursts into flames. While news of the accident is tragic, it's not going to stop me from driving "Precious" into Rockhampton tomorrow morning. Rick.
