One for the Aussies.
Cockroaches will appreciate this one. A quizz show on telly had a contestant from Queensland who was asked to complete the following sentence; "Old Mcdonald had a ................." The Queenslander yelled out "FARM". The compere said, "Great, well done, now spell it". The Queenslander said ........."E-I-E-I-O". At last, we have an answer to the age old question: A chicken and an egg were lying in bed. The chicken is smoking a cigarette with a satisfied smile on it's beak and the egg is frowning and looking rather pissed off. The egg mutters to itself; "Well, I guess we answered THAT question". Heh, heh, I like this one; Two old ladies are sitting in a park when a flasher walks up, yanks open his raincoat and exposes himself to them. This is an enormous shock to the old ladies and one of them has a stroke right away!. the other one couldn't quite reach. Two nuns were cycling down a cobblestone street. The first one says; "I haven't come this way before". The second one says; "I know, it's the cobblestones". Rick. :devious: :devious:

Help !!!! Before It Rains !!!
G'Day you lot, I asked this question about a year ago and, while I got quite a few replies, nobody could answer the question at the time. As we have since gained quite a few new members, (and sadly LOST a few old ones), I thought I'd put the question again. Now, down here in the real God's country, the clear plastic doohicky that goes onto the car door to keep out the wind and rain, allowing the window to be partly down whilst driving, is called a WEATHERSHIELD. I would dearly love to fit them to my "Precious" but can't find a marque that has one to fit. Has anyone solved this problem ???????? Rick. :devious: :devious:

Is this stupid or what?
Good grief, You lot need to go back and read dee dee's original post again. She said the car had to be removed because of CITY ORDINANCES[ It's you lot who started waffling on about contracts and covenants. Anyway, Stephen's absolutely right. This thread doesn't belong here. I'm surprised Mike hasn't closed it down. After all, surely he hasn't anything better to do than to keep an eye on every thread. (Just joking Mike) I think it would be a damned good idea if everyone just gave this thread a miss and got on with life with our Zeds. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Gas for $1.98 a gallon here!
Well now, Considering the Oz dollar is worth around 0.74 American and take into account that 1 Gallon (imperial) is, (faulty memory here), 4.54609 litres,(I think), here in Yeppoon, (which is just down the road from Yafork), we're paying around $1.18 per litre. I'll let you mathamatical experts work it out. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Another 240z article
Geoff, Rest assured mate, this is NOT nor will it BE a ACC bashing exercise. It seems that mike failed to receive my email asking him to do the honours for me (Must still be floating around somewhere), so, I'll type it in. The letter from ACC to the author reads; "Hi Pat, I was wondering if you could have a look at this and make a few comments- given the friendly tone of the letter, I figure it's worth investigating and responding to. I checked the website myself - it is well organised and the article is easy to skim through." The author's response was; "G'Day Rick, Many thanks for taking the trouble of writing about the history of the Z car. I have heard before that Count Goertz may have been a little liberal with the truth. It is a problem faced by so many writers faced with tight schedules and just not enough time to get to the bottom of some point of automotive history. It would be an absolute luxury to have a couple of months to research correctly by travelling and interviewing those involved but this is just not possible for a monthly magazine. By all means if one was writing a book this sort of research is essential. However I do have a number of quite recent publications on Nissan and if Carl Beck's writings are correct then many people in the past have inadvertently said the incorrect thing. With so many marques and models, history has been rewritten again and again but it is really the people who write the words who also chronicle the history. I have read so many things on the internet that I know are misinformed - not intentionally of course. The only way to get the real story out there is to have it all published in book form for the world to see. Then await the response to what has been published. There really has been so little authoritative work written on Japanese automotive history that you honestly don't know what to believe. In the meantime I have printed off a stack of pages from the site and will enjoy reading them when I have a little more time. I would like to get back to you after that. Best wishes Patrick Quinn." I've already posted my letter to the ACC. While the responses were not earth shattering or held promises of rewriting the history of the Z Car, I have to admit that I was surprised to receive an answer at all. It just goes to show that a friendly approach does receive results. If and when I receive further communication from Mr. Quinn, I'll be sure to pass it on. Rick.

Another 240z article
Yair Gareth, I agree. The author also made the comment that the only way to correct past misconceptions was to gather information and publish it, then wait for comments. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Another 240z article
Well, now, Until Mike posts the responding email for me, this is the crux of the reply. Firstly, the Australian Classic Car Mag. contacted the author and said, in part; My letter was "FRIENDLY", worth investigating and responding. and; They checked out Zhome and found it well organised. The author said; He had "HEARD" that Count Goertz may have been a little liberal with the truth. He also said;He went to Zhome and printed off a "STACK OF PAGES" to read and will get back to me again. Interesting HUH ??????????????? Rick. :devious: :devious:
