Pimp911 G'Day Dewayne, I wanted to maintain my cars original colour, so asked the local Nissan dealer if they could tell me the original colour code. They said they needed the engine number and body number, and came back to me the next day with the code. For what it's worth, Rick. :devious: :devious:
  2. Hey Chris, Mike Hunt ????????????????? We're not going to go through that again are we ??????????? Rick. :devious: :devious:

No Garth, It doesn't apply to me mate,........ I'm not that old. By the way, Did you know that Bill was unlucky to be in a department store during a power failure ???? Poor bugger was trapped on the escalator for two hours. Rick. :devious: :devious:

One thing's for sure, Enrique, After reading that, nobody on this site is ever going to lend YOU a mobile phone. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  5. G'Day there Grog, (Is that REALLY your name ????? down in this neck of the woods it's slang for beer, booze). I took special note of your comment, "a 240Z is a good tall man's car". NOT IF IT HAS A BLOODY SUNROOF BY COENEN IN IT !!!!!!!!!!!!! My 8/74 260Z looses a good two and a half inches of head room due to the sliding sunroof. I'm just a freckle under 6 feet and if I hit a decent bump I'll contact the roof. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  6. Joe, You beat me to it mate, however, you have to admit that if he gets into an argument, he's bound to win. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  7. He, He, He, As the saying goes, "Every cloud has a silver lining". I can now sit back, relax with good book without fear of "She Who Must Be Obeyed" telling me that she can find plenty for me to do. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  8. I had a complete new exhaust fitted and I'm perfectly happy with the result. As with Arne, The shop is popular with the rodders and classic car enthusiasts. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  9. Sorry Jason, I must agree with Kelly; Not Funny at all. I'm not a Chuck Norris fan, can't stand him actually, but that article is in bad taste. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  10. AAAARRRRGGHH, The physiotherapist I saw today was a real sadistic bugger. Talk about adding insult to injury!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't play golf for three weeks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AT LEAST !!!!!!!!! Yair Gavin, you hit the nail on the head there mate. I was "walking quickly" to answer the damn phone. To make matters worse, "She Who Must Be Obeyed and Is Always Right" was inside and answered the phone. Turned out to be one of those overseas nuisance calls wanting to sell something. Rick. :devious: :devious:

In Bill's defence, To be fair, I must point out that the original post in this thread contained a total of ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO WORDS. You MUST bear in mind that there is a very real possibility that Bill just MIGHT have generously used up a large percentage of his available quota of words for this week with this one posting. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  12. The family car, (maybe I should say HER car), is a '04 Ford Falcon Fairmont. Last August I walked out of the shopping complex to find someone had busted the Fords l/r tail light and damaged the mudguard in the process. As you can imagine, I was a bit angry but I thought, "Oh, well, that's par for the course when parking in shopping centre car parks". Got the quotes, got it fixed, end of story. Now, if that was to happen to "Precious", I'd be so angry I'd be out for blood, wanting to rip someone's arms off and shove them you know where. The market value of the Ford is a lot more than that of the Datsun. However, how do you place the value of the very real blood, sweat and tears, not to mention the hard cash, that has gone into making "Precious" the true beauty that she is today ????? Who among our members can honestly say they place more personal value on any other vehicle you have over the Zed that you have lovingly restored ???????????? Rick. :devious: :devious:

Hey, Hey, Hey, Are we having a "Pick on Bill Day" ??????????? We used to do that in my old platoon to ease the boredom and break the monotony. GOOD FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!! as long as it's not "your day'. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  14. I've had to disconnect the battery on old "Precious". Bare feet, wet grass, slippery tiles is a formula for disaster. The outcome is torn ligaments in the knee. :hurt: Can you imagine trying to get in and out of a Zed with a buggered up knee ?????????????? Rick. :devious: :devious:

G'Day Hayden, Can't say for sure whether it would work but, I've cleaned paint residue off of brass window handles and softened Estapol on fishing rod runners by soaking them in Lemon juice or Lime juice for a couple of hours, then used a stiff bristled brush (NOT WIRE). The juice contains a very mild acid. Don't forget to rinse thoroughly with water. If you try it, I'd be interested to know how you get on. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  16. Heard about a bloke who had a '72 240Z. The word "DATSUN" was ripped off both mudguards. (Fenders). All other badges etc. were PRISED off with a screwdriver or similar instrument, leaving scratches and dents. The hatch was JIMMYED open. A quarter inch wide scratch ran down BOTH sides of the car. The above was done IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, CENTRE PARKED IN THE MAIN STREET OF TOWN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, nobody saw anything. If I caught anyone doing that to my "Precious", .................. Rick. :devious: :devious:

G'Day there Pete84, Welcome to the club !!!! There's only one suggestion I feel needs to be added to the excellent advice you have already received. When you go to check out the car, take a good MAGNET with you. Running it over the body will identify any bogged up areas. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Bill and his mate had planned a hunting trip for months and the day finally came when they loaded their packs, bedrolls, camping gear, rifles and ammo into Bill's Dodge Dakota and headed off into the wilderness hunting bear. They were driving down a dirt road when they came to a fork in the road with a sign that read "Bear Left" so they went home. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  22. Hey there Garth, I sure hope you don't have a hairy chest mate, even the best of 'breats' would look out of place on you. ROFL Rick. :devious: :devious:
  23. My Avatar, Shows the chrome mirrors on the doors. It came with the mirror on the R/H (dvrs) door. The mirror on the L/H door was purchased from All Z Parts in Sydney. "Precious'" birthday is 8/74 and is a 260Z. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Yair, As Stephen said, be best to leave him be. I doubt that Carl will be back, at least within the foreseeable future. Sure, ..... we miss him but, ... he made his decision, for whatever reason, and we should respect his decision and not harrass him. He's O.K., alive and well and just getting on with his life. Rick. :devious: :devious:
