G'Day Lachlan, Yair, I know I posted this before but I did not include the photo Did I ??????? I thought that, what with the number of new members we've had lately, that it would be worthwhile posting again. I tried the pinstripe tape and hobby knife but wasn't satisfied with the final product. Alternative methods could be expensive. I only recently got around to doing the radio and air/heater controls but the dash is the only pic I have of the finished job. You can't find it ???????????? On the Gold Coast ????????????????? That's Folk Art Central isn't it ??????????????? Rick. :devious: :devious:

Virto, G'Day there Kelly, Yair mate, worked fine on the knobs. Also fixed the logo in the centre of the steering wheel, the oblong ridge around the radio and the air/heater controls. I didn't use it on anything external in case the product is not weather resistant. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Hey Mike, If I ever get to America, I'll certainly make a point of including Little Rock on the itinerary. We'll leave "Those Who Rule" together while we go down to the local pub for a few hours and swap "Serfdom" stories. Rick. :devious: :devious:

G'Day there Bart, The name of the product is, "FAB FOILS". Barb got it from a shop selling Folk Art. The foils she has are a Chrome finish, Gold and one that has multicoloured swirls. There are many others. The foil is used in conjunction with a "SAILOR" brand, 2 in 1 glue pen. According to the foil packet, they have a website; www.stampit.com.au While this is an Australian product, I'm sure there would be an American equivelant. Hope that's of some help to you, Rick.

Some time ago, I mentioned that the plastic plate on the dash that reads Datsun 260Z (or 240Z, whatever), had lost it's chromed look. My "She Who Must Be Obeyed Because She's Never Wrong Even When I'm Right" told me of some stuff that can be purchased at a handicraft store. Has a nice, shiny finish to it, comes in a variety of colours, including chrome. All you need to do ia rub it on. Anyone into assembling plastic models will have used the product. Here's how it turned out. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Boyblunda, Aussie Dave, I'll be going into Rockhampton this coming thursday. I intend to purchase a set, be they original or not. I'll take a photo of them and post as soon as I get the film developed. Dogma 420, Yanky Dave, This pic is the best I've got. Hope it's clear enough. To purchase one, I'd suggest you check out this web site; allzparts@aol.com Bloke's name is Warren. I get all parts, bits and pieces from him. Tell him I sent you. He'll charge you double Rick. :devious: :devious:

First off, I thought, C'mon now Chris, why post it in Funnybone, that's not funny. Then again, on second thought, there is such a thing as Tragic comedy. On the news the other night, a bloke bought the very last Holden Monaro to be produced. (I think in the USA they were marketed as a Pontiac GT). Only paid $178,000.oo for it. Holden donated the money to Charity. The car will NEVER BE DRIVEN !!!!!!!!!!! It will go into his private collection. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Well, Well, WELL !!!! Seems we have a little controversy going on here. Those of us who have purchased the club's Microfische CD, check out the misc. page. It shows that; There are 4 Master key types, = key 00-00016 = key 00-00017 = key 00-00018 = key 00-00019 Waso type steering lock, = key 00-00028 Voss type steering lock, = key 00-00034 Reversible key, L type, = key 00-00050 R type, = key 00-00051 The above information, taken from the fische, suggests to me that the key or keyS required, might differ between models and perhaps location. With my keys, the ignition key is rounded at the top, flattened on the bottom (as it goes into the ignition). All remaining locks are operated by a Reversible R type. ALL LOCKS AND IGNITION ARE ORIGINAL. Rick. :devious: :devious:

G'Day Uncle Kurt, My Zed, (Precious is her name), is a 8/74 260Z. Separate ignition key is standard, as is the lockable fuelflap, which should be fairly simple to fit into a 240Z. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Fingers crossed. I've been in touch with a locksmith who assures me that they have original key blanks marked; Nissan Motor with the Z logo. Price quoted, = $22.oo Aus. for the first key and $7.oo Aus. for each key after the first. That's cut from a key supplied. It's dearer if they have to cut from the code as supplied. I gave them the numbers as stamped on the keys I currently use; Ignition, = MZ 12, and; Doors, Hatch, Fuel, = DAT 6R I'll check them out when I go into town next Thursday. As I said, Fingers crossed. Keep your fingers crossed. I contacted a firm of locksmiths that has been around since the sixties and asked them if they had any early Datsun key blanks hidden away in a dark and dusty corner. They said "YES" and asked for the key code I was after. I gave them; Ignition, = X1 MZ12, and; Doors, fuel, hatch, = DAT 6R. (Which is printed on the keys I have). They said, again, "YES". Do they have the "Z" logo on them ? I asked. They said "YES, Nissan Motor Z" Now, ... I wasn't dreaming, It's not wishful thinking and I'm not suffering delusions. I told them that I'll be in Rocky next Thursday to get a set. Cost, = $22.oo for the first key and $7.oo for every other key after the first. Is it to good to be true ????????????????? I'll let you know next Thursday. (Unless I go to Rocky before then). Rick.

When Enrique retired, he went into the social security office to apply for Social Security. After waiting in line for a long time he got to the counter. The woman at the counter asked him for his driver's license to verify his age. He was most embarrased to find that he had left his wallet at home. He told the woman he was very sorry and asked, "will I have to go home and come back again?????". The woman said, "unbutton your shirt". "I beg your pardon?", said Enrique. "Unbutton your shirt" she repeated. So, Enrique opened his shirt, exposing his manly chest, covered in a mass of curly, silver hair. She said, "The silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me", and processed his Social Security application. When he arrived back home, Enrique excitedly told his wife about his experience at the Social Security office. She said, "You should have dropped your pants, you might have qualified for disability as well". Rick. :devious: :devious:

(And in the process, Grandchildren). To those of us who have children in our lives, whether they are our own, grandchildren, nieces, nephews or students here is something to make you smile. Whenever your children are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even GOD'S omnipotence did not extend to his own children. After creating heaven and earth,God created Adam and Eve. And, the first thing he said was, "DON'T". "Don't what?' Adam replied. "Don't eat the forbidden fruit", God said. "Forbidden fruit?. We have forbidden fruit?. HEY, EVE ...... we have forbidden fruit". "NO WAY !!" "YES WAY !!". "Do NOT eat the fruit !". said God. "Why ?". "Because I am your Father and I said so !" God replied, wondering why He hadn't stopped creation after making the elephants. A few minutes later, God saw His children having an apple break and was he pissed !!! "Didn't I tell you NOT to eat the fruit ?" God asked. "Uh huh", Adam replied. "Then why did you ?" said the Father. "I don't know" said Eve. "She started it !" Adam said. "Did not !" "Did so !" "Did NOT !!". Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own. Thus the pattern was set and has never changed. BUT THERE IS REASSURANCE IN THE STORY !!. If you have persistantly and lovingly tried to give children wisdom and they haven't taken it, don't be hard on yourself. If God had trouble raising children, what makes you think it would be a piece of cake to you ?? THINGS TO THINK ABOUT. 1. You spend the first two years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up. 2. Grandchildren are God's reward for not strangling your own children. 3. Mothers of teenagers now know why some animals eat their young. 4. Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you SHOULDN'T have said. 5. The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own. 6. We childproof our homes, but the still manage to get in. ADVICE FOR THE DAY. Be nice to your kids. They will choose your nursing home one day. And finally, if you have a lot of tension and you get a headache, do what it says on the aspirin bottle; "TAKE TWO ASPIRIN" and "KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN". Rick. :devious: :devious:

Marine Captain Bill Ramsey was assigned to a recon company at a remote post in the desert. During his first inspection, he noticed a Camel hitched up behind the mess tent. He asked the First Sargeant why the Camel is kept there. "Well, sir," is the nervous reply, "as you know, there are 250 men here and no women. And sir, sometimes the men have, .... mmmmm,..... urges. That's why we have the Camel sir". Captain Ramsay said, "I can't say that I condone this, but I understand about urges, so the Camel can stay". About a month later, Captain Ramsay starts having a real problem with his own urges. Crazy with passion, he asks the First Sergeant to bring the Camel to his tent. Putting a stool behind the Camel, Captain Ramsay stands on it and has wild, insane sex with the Camel. When he is done, he asks the First Sergeant, "Is that how the men do it?". "Uh, ... no sir, Captain Ramsey sir", the First Sergeant replies. "They usually just ride the camel into town where the girls are". Rick. :devious: :devious:

Young Will , totally lacking in experience in the ways of the world, was visiting the Big Smoke and stopped in at a bar for some liquid refreshment. While standing at the bar, he noticed two beautiful young women sitting at a corner booth. After his fourth beer he managed to gather the courage to approach the young ladies and said, "Excuse me ladies, could I buy you both a drink?". One of the ladies replied, "You're wasting your time , we're Lesbians" Now, being a simple country lad from Georgia, Will was a little confused at the lady's reply and asked, "What's a Lesbian?". "We like to have sex with girls", was the reply. Will called out, "Hey, bartender !!! three drinks over here for us lesbians please". Rick. :devious: :devious:

Lachlan and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. The next week, Lachlan realized that he would need his wife to wake him at 5.00a.m. for an early flight to Sydney, where he was guest speaker at the annual meeting of the Sydney Metropolitan Area Classic Car Restorers Club Determined to not be the first to break the silence, he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5.00a.m.", which he left on her pillow. The next morning, Lachlan woke to discover that it was after 9.00a.m. and had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't woken him when he noticed a piece of paper beside the bed,..... It said, "It's 5.00a.m. ........ WAKE UP !!!!".

The Boss Will, the company manager, was complaining in a staff meeting that he wasn't getting any respect from his employees. The next day, when Will arrived at the office, he taped a sign on his office door that read, "I'm The Boss". Just prior to finishing work for the day, as Will was returning from a trip to the toilet, he sprung Rick taping a note to the sign that read, "Your wife called, she want's her sign back.
