  1. There's afew 240's at CarPoint on 9MSN, all in Victoria. One of them is offered at $25,000. Also half a dozen 260 2+2's. Might be the same ones Aussie Zed listed. Locally, I know of 2x240's, 3x260 Coupes,(one's mine), 1x260 2+2 and 4x280's. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  2. G'Day George, Carpoint on 9MSN often has them advertised. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Hope you've got LOOOONG, THIN fingers, hands and wrists to get up between the side of the car and the fuel tank. Have disinfectant and bandaids handy. Guarenteed to loose skin. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Not necessarily so my friends. There's been quite a bit of discussion on this subject recently. My 8/74 260 has one key for the ignition and one for everything else. Rick. :devious: :devious:

G'Day Skip, I know Carl was GOING to post step by step instructions on a complete restoration of the wipers but, for one reason or another, I'm reasonably sure that he never did it. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Bill, If you had a broken fuel line, believe me, you'd know it. Is fuel getting to the in line filter ????? If not, look for cracks/loose clamps on the hoses. If so, check the brass screens in the banjo fittings. Check the float valves and make sure the pistons are free and oil levels are correct. Apart from ensuring that the carbs are tuned properly and not flooding, I can't think of anything else off hand. Rick. :devious: :devious:

I said "Twit" earlier, with apologies to the feathered variety. I should have said DODO. Whatever you do, do it BEFORE you have a family to support. Rick. :devious: :devious:

I had the same problem when I first bought "Precious". The PO was obviously a fool with a complete disregard for safety as he/she/they/them set up the carbies like so. They weren't Z carbies. The linkage that runs horizontally across the firewall proved to be too long, causing a "tight spot" which, when the accelerator was depressed past the "tight spot", caused the car to LEAP forward. Fitting a pair of Hitachi's and a shorter link fixed both problems. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Tristan, I always check the simplest, most obvious first. Air bubbles in the fuel lines suggests a a faulty hose. However, with the engine sounding "raspy" and lacking acceleration, could also suggest an electrical problem. Does the in line fuel filter maintain the level of fuel with the engine switched off???????????? If not, .... air leak. Have you checked the carburettor pistons for smooth operation and damper oil level???. You said that you've installed new plugs and leads. Have you checked to see if you have a fouled or faulty plug?? Wouldn't be the first time that's happened to a new plug. The only other possibilities that come to mind would be a faulty condensor or intermittant breakdown of the coil. Rick. :devious: :devious:

G'Day Tristan, Air bubbles in the fuel lines certainly sounds like a leak in the hose somewhere. Have you checked around the clamps holding the rubber hoses where they join onto the metal pipes ?. I had a similar problem with my 8/74 260z. Have you checked inside the distributer Cap for cracks, worn contacts etc. ? Rick. :devious: :devious:

A bus carrying only ugly people was involved in a crash and everyone died and went to heaven. Because of the grief they have suffered, God decided to give them one wish each. They all lined up and God asked the first one what their wish is. The person answered,"I wamt to be beautiful". God snapped his fingers and it was done. The second person saw this and said,"I want to be beautiful". SNAP, the wish was granted. This went on for a while, but when God was half way down the line, the last bloke started laughing. When there are only ten people left, the bloke is rolling on the floor, laughing his pants off. Finally, God gets to the end and asks the laughing one what his wish is. He eventually caught his breath and said, "Make 'em all ugly again". Rick. :devious: :devious:
  19. Is $10-20 more per week really gonna kill me ????? If I was earning the sort of money oil company executives do I'd say no but anyone on a Veteran's, Aged or Disability pension, couples on a single wage etc. find it increasingly difficult to make ends meet. Rick. :devious: :devious:

CRrider98, So, .... you want to drive a car at 200mph, (not kph), before you're 30. Police and paramedics have had to scrape young fools off the road after creaming themselves and others at far less speeds. I think you've probably spent too much time playing video games and it's time to join the real world. Enigma was being his usual diplomatic, nice self when he called you a crazy teen with a pipe dream and delusions of grandeur. On this subject, I'm not nice at all. I reckon you're a twit. (No offence intended to the feathered variety). Rick. :devious: :devious:

Some young blokes are just plain crazy. The latest fad down here is playing chicken on the freeway. ON FOOT !!! The idiots even lie down on the roadway, ducking out of the way at the last moment. Another "fun thing" is to stand on the side of the freeway and throw eggs at passing cars. One "fun thing to do" that raises it's ugly head every now and then is to throw large rocks at trucks windscreens from overhead bridges/walkways. Stupid. Rick. :devious: :devious:
  22. My wife christened my 260Z "PRECIOUS" It's still not clear to me whether it's "Precious" to me or in terms of money spent. Rick. :devious: :devious:

G'Day Toni, Welcome to the club. Refering to the holes in the rear deck. If you could post photos of the problem areas it would make it easier to suggest how best to solve the problem. Rick. :devious: :devious:

Hmmmm, I don't know about poltergeists, but losing the radio and the engine carking it certainly sounds like you have a UFO following you. Seriously, you say it sometimes won't start in PARK, but does in NEUTRAL. With my 260, I always check that the shifter is FULLY forward before turning the key. If it's only a couple of millimeters off full forward, it won't start. There's no grinding noise though. Rick.

Adam, Craig, Gavin, There's one aspect of the story that is so unbelievable as to be almost totally unconcievable. I said that I was lost for words. ME !!! LOST FOR WORDS !!!!! Perish the thought. I must be getting slow in my dotage. Rick. :devious: :devious:
