Front blinker/running lights restoration
I have a roll of that foil tape stuff. I put a strip of it in my front turn signals a couple years ago. I got it at the DIY store, in the isle with the heating stuff. I think they use it like duct tape.

Top Car Movies
Do they still run the Baja 100 race? I haven't heard of, or seen it in years. Even the Dakar rally is gretting kind of obscure lately. Too much riceage lately. thx

Top Car Movies
As for the case scenes people are putting in... Most big movies have chase scenes, from French connection to the James Bond stuff, but I don't think those movies are oriented around cars. Even Bullit is more of a cop movie, than a car movie; if it was you'd have to include Starky & Hutch and the Batman TV shows. My focus on the list is movies based on a car or a car culture; You're bound to have a chase scene in any car movie- like a walk-down shootout in a Western film.

Top Car Movies
I forgot about Black Moon Rising. Not on my favorites list, but I'll watch it occasionally. While I did a little Google (verb,) I saw a few lists that were called TOP 40, but I can't think of 40 movies based on cars or car culture. Are there any real-life car cults? I mean besides you people...

Which CB radio do you carry?
Have you ever used a phone for traffic conditions or a police check on the highway ahead? Or for talking to other people in your travel group? Cell phone only for emergencies, calling the mistress or other unimportant stuff

Top Car Movies
I'm building up a collection of videos and DVDs about favourite car movies; The kind that are either based on cars or heavily involve cars. You might call it a "Top 10" thing but I can't think of 10 yet. My list: Gone in 60 Seconds (1974) Gumball Rally (1976) The Hollywood Knights (1980) American Grafitti (1973) Vanishing Point (1971) Gran Prix (1966) Smokey & the Bandit (1977) Bulitt () The Great Race(1965) Corvette Summer(1978) Maximm Overdrive (1986) I've seen Blues Brothers listed on some web sites, but I consider that more musically-oriented than car oriented. I haven't seen all the 2Fast movies yet, and I'm not really that much into rice. what would you add? thx

Which CB radio do you carry?
I have a handheld unit I got off eBay a while ago, and I just got a speaker-mic for it too, but when I plugged the it in, there was no sound. The PTT switch worked tho. I'm not sure if there is a short in the speakermic, or the mic jack. I'm just trying to make up a 12V power cord out of a couple phone car cords (they're coiled.) I'll see what kind of range I get in the car, then maybe decide to get some kind of antenna. I know I can get an adapter cord from the BNC connector to the PLU-259, but I can't tell how light & flexible it is. Any experience with the stick-on window antennas? It would look cool, but probably tacky at a car show. Are CB headsets legal on the road? Probably the kind with only one speaker is. thx

Just got a 280Z! New to cars.
Welcome, ay? I would have left the paint job for last, after you take a good look through the car and maybe go through the body panels and the mechanicals a little. Things like the bolts for the front fenders will corrode till they're stuck, so they could be run out, a little antiseize, and run them back in. You can clear out any dirt, and install Enrique's drain hoses for the cowl drains. And at the same time, take a good look at the springs, shocks, bushing, etc., so you can make a plan to replace those. Then you'll be able to make up a plan for future stuff. But it's your car, and you gotta do it the best way for you. thx

How to ruin a good car...
Did you see the pink shag carpet in the back?? He did all that stuff to it, but didn't even cover the floor, or clean up the engine (rusted brake fluid covers.) Maybe he was using it for off-road racing? I love that battery hold-hown shim ( the carboard from a fan belt.) No roll cage either. Maybe he was hoping they would use it in the next 2Fast movie... There's no hit counter. No bids either. Coincidence? thx

Battery cut-off location
You could dip it in Plasti-dip or liquid electrical tape, but I'm sure there's a proper mounting bracket for it "available at any local auto parts store." Which means it doesn't exist.:classic:

FI fuel press ?
When I overhauled my injector rail (In February,) I still had loads of pressure on it after I put the car away in November. That's probably what's up with mine; I soaked it in evapOrust to clean up the outside, and some of it probably got inside. So at WOT, I don't get full fuel pressure.

Which CB radio do you carry?
I was thinking about getting a CB radio for road trips, but which one? I don't think there room for a base unit, so I will probably need a handheld unit. So on the handhelds, what good ones are out there? Anything small, maybe with a microphone jack? thx

76 280 running without injector plugs- confused
So? If it's spewing gas into the intake, the engine would still be running. Too many people on eBay and some other places are calling it a cold-start injector.

76 280 running without injector plugs- confused
Did you pull off the connector on the cold-start injector too? if it was spraying fuel, the engine would run(barely.) there's 7 injectors on a fuel-injected L28 engine.

Headlight questions
The ones I have are NAPA- brand Halogen lamps, #H6024.

Hello!
Your use of English seems poli kala to me. Most of the "American language" was borrowed from German or Greek languages any way. Benvenuto, baby.

Headlight questions
I recently got some headlamps from NAPA that were supposed to be brighter than the oem ones, and at lesser amps. Getting them in is the hard part.

Vinyl substitute?
Thanks for mentioning that stuff. I think that's what I have on the rocker panels. I was thinking about spraying some on the bottoms of the back quarters behind the wheels where the road schmutz collects.
-
Vinyl substitute?
Do the auto stores carry that? It looks like you need to spray some color on top to match the carpet or vinyl. It would be best to put on something that's got black in it already, so if it gets scuffed, the steel underneath won't show through. thx
