Question for Z owners who have also owned Roadsters
... home page and scroll down the left side to "mailing list" and that'll pop you onto the registration page for the "Bluebird list" ... Bar none the best info list out there that I have found regardless of marque and I've trudged thru a bunch of 'em. Very helpful members. Pretty strict about 510 content which helps when trying to sort the fly $^!# from the pepper.....

Question for Z owners who have also owned Roadsters
... of Datsuns. You buy one that needs to be done, bring major quantities of money. $800 for timing chain kit for a U-20 as an example? Just price out a few itemsfrom the parts suppliers. You buy a done roadster, same rule applies. Bring money.

NW Regional Clubs/Events
James, Realizing it's a reach from where you are, there are 2 pretty active clubs out of the Portland area. www.datsunsnw.org a& www.northwestz.org. If there is nothing local, you should start a club.

round top conversion (egr and throttle opener)
... The Euro Balance tube has a provision for brake booster port and the PCV port and that's all. One carb has a port for the distribtor vacuum and that's it. The rest of the "stuff' can be removed and sent sailing over the fence into the neighbor's back yard.... Plug any holes and you're good to go. Return Spring: pick up a couple (we have 'em) of springs, drill two holes in the heat shield and make two wire "S" hooks to attach to the heatshield and springs and shazam! The reason for the "S" hook is to give your springs longer life by not sawing on the edge of the hole you drilled in the heat shield. Using fairly large wire for the "S" hook should give it a long and healthy life before it wears through..... Ask me how I know.....

SU Carbs Bogging While Accelerating at Low RPM's
David, Have you tried adjusting the nozzles down in increments to richen them up? Secondly I'd shoot carb cleaner at the throttle shaft openings and all the mounting flanges toward the head to search out any vacuum leaks. Our JUST SUs video does a fair country job of walking one through all this....

Almost there, 1 question
Art, Sounds to me like you're a tad lean causing that carb to spit back. Run that nozzel down in increments and see if it doesn't stop doing it. If you get where it's huffing black out the tail pipe and sounding real blubbery, you've gone too far.

northwest u.s.a.
Arne, Their website clearly states "conveniently located"..... to what? Fourteen thousand three hundred and twenty five jack rabbits can't be wrong, I guess. It may not be the end of the earth but you can certainly see it from there. Just like the group in Washinton, I'll bet these developers will be putting the glove on the taxpayers to build it for them too. "Come watch the Wednesday night combine races on the one mile high banked oval and enjoy the night life of Boardman afterwards"........

Who will be at the Datsun Driving Canby Fun event?
.... Those scattered showers were head and shoulders above the RAIN on Saturday. The stout of heart showed on Saturday and we had lots of time to talk as all tended to congregate under vendor pop-ups during the downpours. The balance of the day was downright balmy with the awards and door prize drawings being held outside in the sun. Two of us did a count at noon yesterday and came up with 40 cars in the day-of drive-in area and 75 vehicles on the show field. Thanks to all who came to take part in the fun and if any of you are interested in joining in on the run to the coast and autocross this Saturday check details at www.datsunsnw.org.

Who will be at the Datsun Driving Canby Fun event?
Only time will tell how many show up. Seems like I heard give or take 200 last year at one counting. For you wanting to caravan from the north northwest, you might take a look at meeting up in greater metro Scholls and hotfooting it over Chehalem Mountain into Newburg and on over thru Donald to Canby. It is a great 510 road, full of twistys......

Who will be at the Datsun Driving Canby Fun event?
.... The entrant list is approaching 100 vehicles for the show spanning nl320 pickups from the mid 60s to 350Zs with pretty much everything in between. For those interested in learning about the array of machines put out by NISSAN, this will be a pretty good show to study at. The club, Datsuns Northwest, has purchased extra dinner tickets for Saturday nights video, music, and get aquainted session. Ask at registration when you check in if you plan on staying for that fun event.

... the ol' "let's get involved" attitude. And you'll probably be crushed to learn you'll have to share the "primer" stage with yet other worthy opponents on the show field of honor.

Who will be at the Datsun Driving Canby Fun event?
... I think Dave Bothwell pretty well laid 'er out. I could not understand the vigor of the slap shot DatsunsNW was taking for the effort and finacial support we were putting forth to provide the best ALL Datsun event in the Northwest. I believe what he said was for any who don't elect to join in the show (which is a pretty low test people's choice deal) tickets for the dinner Saturday night will be available day of. That would be a good chance to meet people, ask questions, pass on thoughts and comments to those who may know the answers and just generally make the effort to get aquainted..... Club outreach has been one of the hardest things to do in every club I've ever been in touch with. DatsunNW wants everyone on the inside looking out at new potential members. Potential members not sitting on the outside looking in wondering what's going on is not a good thing. Trailer Queens -- wracking my brain. I can come up with 5 vehicles trailered last year, 4 race cars and an un-finised lowrider pickup from Monmouth. Time to get back to the Spec Racer 400....... peace all

1974 260Z carb problem
.... back when those cars with the flat tops were new, I knew guys that went looking for the earlier round tops when the cars were brand spanking new. The dealers even got ropped into doing the swaps as a means of keeping customers happy. But as I talk to all the inquiring customers at ZTherapy, its amazing how many have fought these bad boys for all these years and are just now getting around to doing something about it. Maybe it's just now that they can do something about it.

Fighting Rust...Help
Hey all, Both Zero Rust and POR-15 encapsulate the surface starving the oxygen from the steel. They are different technolgies but the function is the same. Seal the steel, if the sound rust you're going over can't breath it can't grow, very basic stuff really. Neither product is a convertor. Most of the convertors call for "sealing" the surface after conversion is complete. From that standpoint both products make the conversion step unnecessary if not total counter productive.
