  1. Curious, are they all needing rebuilt because .... I can see you doing the engine, maybe, but just fluid changes on the tranny and rear end, unless there was crazy mileage. Heck I had a Z with 250k that had the original rear end and auto tranny. Guy said he drove all over the country many, many times.

Interesting. Is that because the inside of the nut that holds strut in place and is a different size than stock? Or is the concern it would be damaged when removed?

https://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/cto/d/2-datsun-240z-car-first-1k/6268967336.html I do know some of the history on the 260. It was an Arizona car my cousin bought and had in Chicago. He sold it to some kid here in Orlando. I bought it eventually and resold it. When I had it it was clean with little rust and complete. For a 1k for both I'm tempted but 2 trips to Miami is a lot of driving!

I would now disconnect the connections from the new fuel pump, place a good battery in the back and hard wire directly to the fuel pump. Then go for a drive. Eliminate any ECU or AFM input. This way you can eliminate any obstruction issues. If it continues, you know there is obstruction some where.

Well I passed on it. A little to much rust for me. If I didn't have one, maybe. The interior was redone at some time. Nice but a little different than what I would want.

Winter Garden. Small town north of Disney about 10 miles.
  9. My thought was get a piece of heat shrink tubing around it.
  10. I think the reality is if you have a good functioning return line to the tank and good float valves you won't have any issues. Watching the return straight off the carb return line and at the back of the car, mine only had a nice small trickle using the Airtex E8016S 4.5PSI max, 30GPH pump.
  11. Did it really sell this time?

Thank you! Does that option add any more value or is it just a preference thing?
  14. I ditched it after all. I only applied a small amount of force trying to Remove it and it came completely apart. It's really hard to beat the fram g2 less than $3. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Was going to look at a car tomorrow and the owner says she always recalls a vinyl top on the car. This was a family members car that passed and purchased new. Was this a dealer option? I've seen them from time to time, but always figured it was aftermarket. Could have been a respray and added then. Different mirror and missing bumperettes.
  16. Mine was only loud until it primed. Then I can hear it hum some, but once running I hear nothing. What is that clogged line from?
  17. Darn Cyclist! What muffler are you running? Resonator too?

Hey Dave, might want to unplug the washer motor itself first and try the wipers and push the button without it connected. Maybe the motor is going bad for the washer pump.

I'm assuming the shift knob is just a swap?
  20. Yes for the time being and I have a third one right before the rail too. I had some rust I wanted to make sure I got out.

So we're looking at new nissans Altima or Maxima cars. We rented a 2017 Altima recently and really liked the car and gas mileage was amazing. Did some checking and it seems almost all of their cars, SUV, etc have this trans now. Checked out car complaints and it is scary to me. Even 2016 models had some issues. The thought of a trans only having 120k and needing a rebuild is nuts to me. Then $5k for a rebuild! We keep our cars a long time. Our last new car was in 06 Toyota van and we are at 145k with zero issues but maintenance. Heck my 01 Lexus has 205k and still going. Original trans. For daily drivers it's hard to beat toyotas in my opinion. I like to get in and go and not have issues to worry about. What do you guys think?

How many of these 90 degree fittings do you have? Just the metal not the rubber hose.
  24. I finally finished mine up. I had mine mounted with all this hose running in a big loop and didn't like it. I made small metal gas line and eliminated all the extra line hanging. Tucked so much better. Return line is flowing great too. It was plugged about 3 feet in the engine bay. I must say my car does run considerably better. I think my old mechanical pump was dying.
