  1. no worries. People will always go did you see the Z for sale on Facebook? I can never seem to find it.
  2. Yeah I didn't know either of these thanks. So the tagging thing does send them a notification? I'm usually good with forums, but I can't figure out twitter or Facebook. I'm even an IT guy! Honestly, I just don't care for Facebook and real name stuff. I simply don't use it. I have a fictitious name so I can see things when I need to.
  3. Hmmm. I'm guessing since I've commented in this thread I get notifications already. It must give others who haven't posted in the thread notice?
  4. Ignorant question but what does the @JSM do?

Maybe measure the distance for the mounting bracket and see if you can mount on the rail of the deck that has screws already. You'd likely be able to drill a hole in the extinguisher bracket.

My thought was behind the passenger seat mounted to the deck wall. Where people like to drill holes for speakers in the tool box. Don't know the technical name for the space. Thats kind of big though no? I forget which one I had but it was about half that size.

Did you open the door and look on the door plate? It's right by the seat and the door striker.
  10. You and me booth! I'll take a dime size dent, try all the proper techniques, I think, prime and go what the heck! I think it's like art, some people got it and some don't. I don't!
  11. It's weird what they cleaned up and didn't. Seems towards the end of the restore it was hurry up and finish. Did the later 71 come with 72 style fuse cover and an am/fm radio?
  12. Nice. It looks like you have an ansa exhaust already. Are those Enkei wheels.
  13. Remove and weld. I'm kinda surprised you didn't weld the whole thing in.

You can't trim it? As long as the magnet is not bigger than speaker it shouldn't be an issue. Didn't the jbl speakers come with a template? Measure hole width vs template.

Derek I believe is on this site as well as on hybridz. He makes these for the 280z as well as for the 240z. I have a set for the 240z and they are very nicely done. https://www.ebay.com/i/253187800430
  20. Dang! I love to watch people spend their money on Z cars! I have to spend it carefully and in secret. Shhhh, don't let my wife see this.

Ok that makes sense. So what does the blue fused wire do coming off the speaker wires?

If it's not actively listed it, they may not know the market. Are they open to offers? I guess my point is don't over pay if you don't have to.

Reading from the other thread, it shows the power going into the blue fuse wire. The plug above show the power and two speaker wires coming in but how does the radio get power? The plug seems like it would be speakers out only? So how does the blue wire get into the receiver from the 3 plug connector? ( since only 3,wires, it seems speaker out are two, and blue fuse is going in, but what's it going into the plug itself?) The separate red and blue wire are just dial lights and for testing purposes don't need to be hooked up right? I have a radio I need to test too from a 72. -—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My 1972 Datsun 240Z (build date 10/71) has the following wires and destinations: Black w/rca plug= Antenna Red/blue wire= dial light Blue/fuzed = Power into (3 connector) gray= speaker blue/gray= speaker Antenna switch= 3 wires into T connector. solid blue at top of "T", blue w/red stripe left side of "T", blue w/white stripe to right side of "T". Hope this helps. If you need more info pm me.... Ken Lewis Windham,NH
