Change original color ?
My first Z was a 1973 White / Red 240. Loved that car when I was a kid in the 70's. Fast forward today and I've had 4 different Z Cars - this last one being a Red/Orange coloration - at first I really thought to repaint the Z white - but I decided to stick with the original color - I am glad I did. White is a fantastic color but the original color is what I would stick with.......IMO.

MSA A pillar trim, header trim and headliner
I had the exact same separation to happen - had to install a new one this driving season.

Newest addition to the garage.
Beautiful - of course it would be sexier if she was wearing a set of triples...( to go with her whitey tighties and her double D's)!!

Have you thought about wiring up one of these: Not a bad idea for piece of mind - I wired one into the fuel pump and glad I did. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inertial_switch

Mikuni reinstall - reving high at idle
Engine info and current jetting setting would help. AFR is a must for triples these days. How many sets of Mikuni's have you rebuilt in the past? I have recently discussed with Todd at Wolf Creek about the basic settings and he did agree that the 1 or 1.25 turn setting is BS - if you need to go beyond 2-2.5 turns then you may want to revisit jetting but there is no basic setting per past threads.

How Many Z Drivers Also Own BMWs?
My 2005 X5 is just now getting broken in - and yes - I bought it new - it's been a fantastic work car.

SU's or Weber/mikuni
I've got to agree with Rocket Dog - install them - set them - forget them. Triples are a blast and not near the PITA that folks have made them out to be. I'll bet that most folks that have challenges either are not using a high quality refurbished units or they have not taken the correct setup installs, or some goofball sandblasted them. I will not go back to SU's (I've got them on a shelf in my garage - cause that is the best place for them). The main thing that you will miss with SU's is the true torque and horsepower of your engine (however you build it) - I've had both in the exact same car with the exact same engine build - my Mikuni set up wins every time hands down. Not a doubt in my mind at all - sorry Guy......

SU's or Weber/mikuni
What head and block are you planning on stroking? Give us some details on your plan so we can assist in guiding you a little better. Get ready to spend some $$! This is going to leave a mark on your wallet! Oh yea - almost forgot - tell us how you drive your car currently - are you tracking it - weekend mountain cruiser - race car? That's going to be a lot of engine.........

New engine
What was the HP gain going to the Stage III from the Stage II?
-
New engine
Guy, Was there much difference (and you may not be able to answer this yet) in the idle noise level - and much more torque - what is your RPM band with that cam?
-
New engine
Guy - I gotta ask - triples on this one? You're building a perfect engine to bolt those bad boys on!

Looks great - you're going to love firing that bad boy up!

Is the fuel return to the tank really necessary?
My SU's I ran the mech pump with the original return with no regulator - with my Mikuni's I am running a fuel pump dead headed with regulator. Never had a fuel issue either way.

I left in my original repainted horns and added a Hella Air Horn and mounted on the radiator support - extreme sound - very loud - it will get somebody's attention if needed (that's what a horn is all about).

I did the exact same thing - shifts great and the shifter does not sit as high in the console either.

Maybe the slave cylinder was not bleed completely - sometimes they are tricky - once you have it bleed as much as you can, did you shake the adjusting bolt rod to force any air that could have been trapped? Just a thought.............

Triple Mikunis [40mm] for sale
Agreed - my 40's have been dead on since day one. I have worked on jetting a little over the past two months and have returned exactly where I was originally - the AFR gauge doesn't lie. I still have my original SU's but not sure why - doubt they will ever go back on the car! Best of luck with the sale - just so your future buyer does his set up correct with complete homework they will have a blast with them. Hate to hear of your life events to force you to sell them, but best of luck with the sale.

Triple Mikunis [40mm] for sale
My Mikuni upgrade is my favorite so far - at the starting price this would be a great buy for somebody looking for more performance and torque than what stock has - you can change the venturi's out and even squeeze out more horsepower! I'm betting somebody will grab these up.

You may want to look at Speed Bleeders for your slave and brake lines..............just a thought when you go to bleed your slave. I just ordered some for all the way round my Z. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread33916.html http://www.speedbleeder.com/

Stephen - Show us that radiator when you get a chance - I've been thinking about replacing mine but just have not gotten around to it yet - what did you do with your fan? Did you move to electric? Do you use a shroud and will it fit on the 3 core?
