  1. I've had mine for almost 1 year now and it is solid as a rock - no movement period - pure shifting pleasure!! Everybody needs 1 whether they know it or not!!

I agree with Lonnie above - call Bruce and get the video. You might need to watch parts of if twice but it is a just as important as any metric wrench in your tool box. Get a sync tool also if you don't have one. There have been tons of posts on all the tricks and tips, you may want to use the search feature if you have not done that yet either.
  3. Abe, For every true restoration there should be a part car - now that you have a part car you can look for your car to restore or refresh - I would part that one out - dismantle every part you can - keep all the screws and nut and bolts you can! Bag and tag everything!! Once you get another car it is amazing how many pieces you need to replace - repair. You've got a great start and don't get dis-hearted. Now you can look for a $4-6K car and you will be set for your project. This is not a setback, this is an opportunity!!

Great idea - anybody have one already set up to share? It would been neat if we could put it up at the header bar along side of the garage and then Mike and Arne could get some additional vendor support for placing ads to help pay for things...............

The ones I ordered from MSA were a Nissan part. It may be cheaper to go through your Nissan dealer or at least get a price quote first. The part was an exact fit for my '72 - a little pricey but completes the door.

Frank- Thanks for the follow up. I PM'd beandip and geezer and asked for their follow up as well. If the high temp paint is working for everybody with two years of no flaking or peeling it's would have to be better than looking at headers that just look like hell, and I hate to buy a coated header until I either pull the engine or the header fails............it's kinda like my TV - I've had it for over 20 years now but the damn thing will not break so I can buy a new one..........maybe one day.

This post has not been commented on in over 1 year. Do any members have any additional comments on this topic. Beandip and Geezer had pervious notations and I am wondering how the high temp paint is holding up if anybody else has tried that. I need to give my headers a face lift but would like to keep it inexpensive until I have to replace them with coated headers. Share you success stories:).
  19. I use Hagerty for both my antique cars. Wouldn't think about going anywhere else. They have to be kept in a locked garage though.
  20. Guy- Thanks for the post and the information. I have family members in Richmond. I will add him to my contact list. I've been keeping up with your cars and your son's photo abilities,.........both are excellent!!

I installed my seatbelts from MSA last year - it is the best safty item I have installed to date along with Dave's light harnessness. The retractor does not get in the way of my seat positioning when driving. The seatbelt does ride up a little on my neck/shoulder area so I do have to pull that down occasionally to lower the chest belt off my neck area. Newer cars have a positioning adjustment that raises and lowers the area on your neck but not the MSA retrofit seat belt.

I believe you will need to cut a hole into the carpet to finalize the seatbelt installation.

Jordan- The lighting harnesses that you can buy through MSA is the way to go. There are several threads on it (do a search if needed) and there are 3 different harnesses that Dave has custom designed for our cars. There are many of us that have made this modification and are extremely happy with it. There are no wires to cut, no wires to splice - it is simple and very effective, and will take a load off your fuse box and pull the power from from your battery (where Nissan should have put it originally). Your parking lights will be brighter as well as your interior lights at night, and that is a by-product of your brighter headlights!! Dave is the resident pro at sound and electronic's on our site. I would return the Black Dragon harness without a second thought.
