Gas pouring everywhere
You go me laughing on this one... I ran a 1941 Power Wagon for a snow plow for a lot of years. During the summer this beast would just rest down by the creek. One fall I climbed into the beast and it stunk bad. Opened the hood... A golden Mantled Marmot had decided the top of the flathead was home and died there. I got the truck running but the smell of dead animal was over powering me even though I had no door windows or floor. FIX: I got a case of tomato juice and a bunch of tomato paste. Mixed up the batch.... Warmed up the powerwagon. Shut down the beast and dumped the mixture over the top of the flat head... I let it sit for a couple of week. Power washed the engine for the first time ever.... From then on the powerwagon smelled like pizza when it was at operating temp. Kinda strange but much better that rotten marmot. 240z gas tanks
If you go the restoration route make sure both supply lines still work when you get it back. I "assumed" my tank was correct.... drove me nuts.. deinstalled tank again only to find the gas supply line was sealed closed inside the tank. Aircraft paint remover carefully applied fixed my tank.

New Member - Bay Area, California
I emailed the body shop that's working on my 72 240Z today. I was wondering if April 2007 was too optomistic for completion (one year). To my delight I got back a reply.... "We are working on it right now, expected completion in January"

Where are the main area for RUST on 240z
Based on too much experience my inspection would have the following steps: 1. Rear wheel arches 2. Rocker panel under the Door - dog leg near rear wheel to base of front fender 3. Bottom of doors 4. Floor pan where you feet go + behind seat 5. under car... floor pan + frame rail 6. Battery pan 7. Inside the front wheel wells along the frame rail 8. Rear hatch Jay
