Just curious, how many of the original guages from the 240/260's will work with an rb engine

dont things like the tacho and speedo run off the ecu?

how many do you need to replace!?

but the speedo will not work with the RB motor, unless you use the stock L6 tranny and differential.. which most likely you wont because of the RB26DETT engine and RB25DET 5-speed transmission. You will need an Autometer electronic speedo... and most likely an AutoMeter tachometer as well.

Not sure on the tach, you could probably wire it up somehow.. but just go the easy way.

Excuse the terminology but I found a Silvia with a mechanical "gearbox cog thing" that bolted straight in the R32 gearbox and straight to the 240's "mechanical Speedo cable thing".

I have yet to take it to a calibration shop to get calibrated though (I shouldn't imagine it to be a problem).

As for the Tach, from what I can gather a 280's tach with the big 30 ohm resistor bypassed should be able to connect straight to the tach output from the ECU.

I've done this mod but I haven't got my car at the moment to see if it works (it's at an interior shop at the moment).
