September 9, 200321 yr comment_49136 When deciding on paint, you have to think about what you are going to do with the car and how much money you are willing to spend on the whole project. With my car, paint was very important because I plan to show the car. I found the body shop I wanted to do the work and waited a year to get into the shop. In the meantime I striped the car down to an empty shell. The day before it was ready to go in for paint, I took it over to a sandblaster and had him remove all of the paint ($600 job). The next day it went into the body shop and stayed there for four months. The end result was an amazing paint job! $6000 later, you really can see what you paid for. I own a $75k Mercedes, and a $20k Harley, Neither have a paint job anywhere near as nice as my Z. If I was going to drive this everyday, you can bet I wouldnt spend this much money on paint. Just my opinion.
